The first Chapter of a two Chapter series. Adventurers travel into Arad Doman, where the city of Falme has been invaded. Meanwhile the countryside is ablaze as towns and cities are raided. This mod is based off the Wheel of Time by Robert Jordan. Included are many WoT specific abilities such as Linking, Bonding, and the Taint.
No, we never got it done. The game is really dated now and we tried to make a huge WoT mod for Oblivion but ran into too many Toolset problems to continue. We even tried Dragon Age this year and had the same problem. Sorry.
I'm apologizin first before I offend someone because this q has nothing to do with this game lol but I got a MAJOR big question for akaliel's comment about WoT... DID you ever get it done n is there a link... If you can't tell I'm a major fan of WoT lmao _________________________ "Let the Dragon ride again on the winds of time. Its wonderful i love I love it I love it.. 10 10 10 all the way :D _________________________ The sweetness of victory and the bitterness of defeat are alike a knife of dreams.
After much ado about nothing. I've started making my WoT mod for Oblivion. Although not a sequel the Chapter 1, it'll be much better. I'll be making the entirety of Randland within Oblivion. You'll play the Dragon Reborn (i.e. Rand), although you can give yourself whatever name you wish, I suppose, and even be a female. You ARE the dragon reborn, and can channel, whether you want it or not, much like Rand. You begin as Tam al'Thor's son/daughter and during one night on your farm, it's attacked by Trollocs. You kill some and run away and your adventure begins. The rest is largely free form. Go wherever you wish, do whatever you wish. There will be an overarching storyline that more or less follows the books and contains what you need to do next to progress the primary storyline, you don't have to follow it if you don't want to, much like Oblivion, and the path to get to your next destination will be up to you. However, being a person who can channel, you should keep in mind that running around channeling at folks is likely to get you noticed, and not pleasantly. So you might want that Aiel army behind you before you go showing off your skills to much. Also, you probably shouldn't doddle too much, the Shadow isn't waiting you for you, and neither are the Seanchan.
Anyway, I have just started so most of the details are up in the air at the moments as I make decisions on them. But I will finish this. I know the Oblivion construction set pretty well and am confortable that I accomplish most of my ideas. However there will likely be rather few side quests. I don't have time to script in clear-my-basement-from-rats, or kill-10-bandit quests. And you probably aren't interested in doing them. I do hope to add a decent (although far less than Oblivion) dungeons for loot/angreal gathering. But yeah, not as many as Oblivion. Dungeons are very time consuming.

I'll see what modding with NWN2 is like. If it sucks, or if NWN2 sucks I'll do it for Oblivion. But Oblivion takes a while to make big mods for so could be a while.

I really enjoyed this mod. It fit well with the WOT timeline and it was fun to have an event-based linear plot. It worked almost perfectly, the only tiny quirk being that the little girl wouldn't follow if I rested after meeting her. I can't wait for the second chapter; is it anywhere near finished?

Great. Thanks!

In have no idea how my tlk file "screws" up all the pregenerated characters. The tlk file is only used in NWN when the module loads it. Are you creating a character in my mod and then clicking on Save Character, then loading that character in another mod? That's the only way I can think of that might do it. Sounds like a Bioware bug, if it is one.
To be clear though, WoT.tlk isn't actually my file, I got it from someone else. I never editted tlk files before.

Allan, your mod DOES screw up the game:
The "WoT.tlk" file eliminates the "Devastating Critical" feat in the characters. All my pregenerated characters lose their Devas feat when a module loads.
For your mod, that's not a problem, but when I feel like powergaming, this is an inconvenience.
Congrats for getting the Hall of Fame, but please fix this WoT.tlk file.
Thanks and looking foward to part 2,

He doesn't communicate? That's weird. It's been a long time since I've looked at the script for the wolfbrother, but I believe as long as he spawns you should be able to talk to him. I'll take a look when I get the chance and get back to u.
Hi, I am a WoT fan, so when I found these mods I was very excited. Unfortunately it didn't last long. I tried twice, I can't get the proper (sub-)races. And the Wolfbrother doesn't communicate (my deodorant maybe?) with me. With some respawning I killed him and finished the quest but soon after I was stuck again because the guy outside the inn doesn't talk with me either. I also tried with rightclicking but that didn't work either. Might this be because it's run only on NWN? Seem to have lost my HotU. Please help! Need to have something to do while waiting for at least 1 1/2 years for the last (??) book!

Please hurry with the next chapter! ;) I really liked this one. A very exciting prelude to what I feel will become something very good! _________________________ Link

Yup, I'll be there. I hope it's not as exhausting as the last one. We had both been up nearly 50 hours by the time Conner was born and had to spend a full week in the hospital.
Good luck with your next child.
are you going to be present at the birth ?
I have a couple of kids, saw both of them into the world... what an experience :)

Corrupted your NWN? Never heard of that happening before. Sorry you had problems.
If Oblivion keeps getting delayed I'll be doing it on NWN2. The only reason for wanting to do it on Oblivion was that it was supposed to come out first. But now that may not be the case.
It will likely be a while for me to develop though. In my spare time I play games more often than not and come February I'll have another newborn so I won't have much spare time in the first place, and when I do, I'll probably be so stressed that I'll only want to play some mindless shooter.
i tried that & it corrupted the whole of my NWN game.
I totally reinstalled all the discs & it now seems to be working.
much hassle, but thanks for the reply.
Hope you change your mind about pt. 2
Does anyone know of any modules that contain Trollocs ?
Posted by Allan ( 204.209.xxx.xxx ) at 2005-12-07 15:55:55
Actually there's no Trollocs in this mod. I had tons in my Chapter 2 before I canned it. Anyway it sounds like you're missing the tlk file. Just put it in the tlk directory.
Id love to give this a go but am getting the auld "could not load module, missing required custom table"
have tried re down loading files & as far as im aware putting right files in right folders..... im obviously missing something.
can any one help ....
ive been wanting to kill trollocs for a while now please help.

I was hoping to begin the second Chapter this month, however the delay of Oblivion has push that back. I most definitely will be continuing it however. I can't wait to dig into the Construction set of Oblivion. I've played the Morrowind toolset enough to know my way around the system.
When did I get that Hall of Fame tag? This mod's been posted for 3 years and until last week I hadn't had a new review in about a year. Weird.
I'll be the first to admit it was underdeveloped. :) A newborn does that. And you know the crazy thing, my wife is expecting another baby the first week in February. Right when I'll be wanting to build Chapter 2. Deja Vu.

Nice small linear mod for a newbie NWNer who needs to get used to the mechanics of the game.
I sure hope part 2 comes out. _________________________ Steve's Characters - please don't forget to vote on them if you play them.

wow Hall of Fame already ( ill give it a shot :) can anyone tell me What the Wheel of Time was? ( missed out on it guess never heard of it before now)
the author has abandoned the project for a sequel. Maybe he'll do the complete series for NWN2 or Oblivion. so he says. _________________________ The hottest new modules you can't miss - player suggested

The WoT rules and abilities are impressive, however the module itself is rather too short and quite underdeveloped. Combat is badly unbalanced. Shows promise for the second module, but I can only really recommened this one to WoT fans.
