Description
A solo adventure for a 1st level character with no Dungeon Master. You have been caught in a winter storm while traveling through the snow-covered hills of northern Tirloch. The storm is one of the worst you've ever seen. In fact, it's so cold, that if you don't find shelter before too long, you will die of exposure. You've heard of the Spirit Guardian Illoc Goron, and know that his home is nearby--somewhere near Mernan's Wood. Although you generally stay clear of the priests who hunt the undead, the Spirit Guardian is your only chance for survival.

A delightful little module for taking a character to level 2. I could almost feel the cold myself.

A well put together little side trek for a level one character. I too played with a 7 HP bard but mine is a half-orc named Colossus. It's probably worth an "8" but I am giving it an extra point given the rarity of well balanced level one adventures (I welcome the weak enemies allowing an average character to engage them in melee with a fair chance of winning the fight). In terms of atmosphere, playing without the map (which I recommend) even increase the immersion factor. Without a torch my character was walking around blind trying to find his way around.
8: A very good module that is well polished and fun to play.

Actualy, I played this module in 2005 but forgot to vote. Cold damage is nice idea, giving you the sence of urgency - it won't take long before you die in the snowstorm.

Sorry, it seems I forgot to rate it... here you go:
It was very refreshing for a first level module. Not much to do, but some clever action. There were moments when I would have liked to have better clues, but in the end it was nice, even being a bit short: well worth the download.

I enjoyed this. It is very short, true, but it sets up a different ambiance from the run of the mill modules and provides a useful and interesting quest for a level one character. Better than rat catching or gofer ing anyway :). Good roleplaying.
Hi, I enjoyed this for what it is. You need to set the 'animal den' to plot - I destroyed it after discoverng it was empty and couldn't figure out how to end the module until I checked in the toolset.
