Starting adventure for a ranger, druid, or barbarian. You go through some quests to prepare and equip yourself before a showdown with a hungry bear. Has a rustic feel. Exploring and fighting.

very nice mod, my only complaint - the deer should start aggressive I didn't know if I should attack them. Also a bow would be nice:)(I brought my own) _________________________ Thanks Rolo:)

This is a nice little mod, though I think it could use some polishing. It is beautiful with a rustic, natural setting. My biggest complaint is that while the mod says it is for Rangers, Druids and Barbarians the only thing that really makes it so is that equipment you get states it is only for Rangers, Druids and Barbarians. There is nothing really specific to these classes in the mod. It would have been nice to allow Druids and Rangers to try to solve the problem diplomatically, after all they do talk with animals. Still a nice mod that I would recommend.

Been a while since I played this nice little module, shame on me for not voting immediately after!Played with a new human ranger girl, and liked it a lot.I heartily recommend this as a one evening`s session starting module for a nature oriented character. Short, but manages to contain variety. Great use of the CEP. Some fights were pretty tough but doable, some give a ranger or druid non-violent option.Nice custom items. If I recall, healing/food was limitedly available and just lasted me there and there, so use it only if you can not rest.Especially recommended if you seek a module where your level 1 forester is not confronted with "the Formidable Critter of Evil" -yet there is still plenty of natural magic in the air.A shame there was never a sequel, but a good thing is this does not end in a cliffhanger! Now about to play again...

Although linear, this is indeed a nice module with a strong nature theme. The author has created a great atmosphere for a peaceful village emphasis in nature. The villagers also give out a warm feeling to the players.

I really liked this, so I hope you continue the series. I love the concept. You've created a great little world, so I hope you expand it. I also like that things tied in together-- you get the meat and berries, then you can have pemmican made and so on. I like that the villagers had occupations that make sense for the world you've made.
why is it that I have CEP v1.53 installed, but your game tells me I'm missing the custom talk table in order to play it?

A well executed simple outdoor module. At last we have a level 1-2 CEP module for Ranger/Druid. We need more of these light hearted yet well crafted modules.

Any idea when the next adventure will be out?

Very good module. It was nice to play a SINGLE PLAYER mod that was actually challenging for a level 1 char. very original story

This is a very good first effort by the author-- the idea of a nature-based character is excellent and there are some innovative and clever points in the mod. On the other hand, it's rather linear, and I didn't feel that the mod took full advantage of the skill-checks specific to druids or rangers. I'll definitely check out the next installment.

I love nature-based characters, so I had to try it out. A very promising author, I think-- the bramble patch was especially clever. A bit too "fetchy" although I guess it's tough to get away from that at low levels.

well made mod, good idea, if quite short.

Concept is really good, I'll certainly check out future mods by the author. I would have liked to see the pc be able to talk to animals, though, that would be pretty interesting.

A very nice mod with an original concept. I liked the bramble patch, and while it was a pretty linear and straightforward module, it's perfect for beginning nature-lovers and balance-keepers. :)

A very promising series-- some of the quests were a little to clearly fetch-y, but the idea of a mod aimed at a druid/ranger character is great. There's really no mod out there that is druid-focused (maybe An Ancient Heart), so I would encourage the author to take advantage of some of the specific traits these characters have (animal empathy, for instance, in speaking to animals). Great work!

I hope to have the next one done in a month.
I have several ideas and I am trying to keep the module to a reasonable length by sticking to just a few. My goal is to produce episodic modules like this one which take only a couple of hours to play. For one thing I can finish them faster, for another my computer gets really slow when I try to edit a large module.

Very good mod. I liked it a lot. When will the next mod be aavailable?
Posted by dugfromthearth ( 24.22.xxx.xxx ) at 2005-01-24 22:12:00
It looks like it updated immediately.
the zip file ends in 1.1
sorry for the problem, I hope you enjoy the module :)

I must apologize. I went home and tried it out and it worked fine. I checked everything and it worked. Finally I dl'd the module and discovered it was an older version. So I have uploaded the proper, fixed version. I am not sure how long it takes for that to change in the system.

Ran into a minor problem...
I cannot complete the Spirit Bear quest. I get the Corpse Tongue mushroom and give it to the healer, but the conversation just ends. When I talk to her again, she tells me the mushroom isn't the right one, but there aren't any others in the cave.
