Some annoyances that the console can work around and I didn't think the task was an achieving one, but this is great otherwise! _________________________ Steve's Characters - please don't forget to vote on them if you play them.

Worse then the blackwall keep by the same author.
That does not mean it wasn't a nice thing to play.
Few issues:
- outdated CEP haks apart from crash also cause wierd "hitting" sounds
- no restoration/antidote, also no NPC healer(there are diseasing mobs)
- putting back stolen items makes you still steal them and makes you more chaotic _________________________ Thanks Rolo:)

Familiar store crashes, it is caused by outdated CEP (cep1patch150.hak). If you upload cep1patch169.hak above it(and thus overwriting it) the problem would be solved. _________________________ Thanks Rolo:)
Disregard last comment lol... Found it, sorry lol _________________________ "Let the Dragon ride again on the winds of time. The Prophecies will be fulfilled. The Dragon is Reborn."
I've got all the CEPs installed but I go to play your game n it says I'm missin a hack so I go to toolset to see which 1 n it says the hack I'm missin is zw_wotw_h1... N I looked at all your other d/ls n can't find it... Any suggestions please, thank you _________________________ "Let the Dragon ride again on the winds of time. The Prophecies will be fulfilled. Well, I downloaded all requred hacks and movies, placed them properly and started a new game. Encountered problems:
1) the game crashes when I try to trade with Mordenkain's familiar.
2) it crashes again when I try to loot corpse in the crypt, near the "iron maiden".
Looks like some of the items in their inventories are broken? Or is it something in my brains? :)

Thanks for the vote, I didn't even folks still played these modules and I almost missed you there. Glad to know you enjoyed this hack and slash mod and that you look forward playing the rest of the Trials. However, either I must note that I will either make a huge update after I'm done with the Blackwall series or I will simply delete the trials.
Thanks again. :)

I was looking for a short module to play and decided to try this one. Very good, the crypt wasn't too hard, (I played on normal setting with level one fighter), though some areas required a few reloads. Loved the secret level, but my PC didn't explore the whole cave as she kept getting kicked. I took Zancia(sp?) as henchman, but didn't realise that I could take more. I would've liked more dialogue, but the module wasn't that long, so the "silence" didn't get too boring. Thanks for your time and effort ZeornWarlock! I'm off to play part two. Cheers! Nearly forgot, no bugs, plus I loved the setting and story.
Actually, it's more of a hack and slash mod! I think the category got messed up during the vault changes!?! Even my dwarven and human portraits are under elves? Oh well!
The trials are light in roleplay but quite interactive. You can find more details in the READ-ME!
Thought, the next update (it will take a while!) of the trials will be more roleplay oriented! _________________________ Retired from module building.
You say this module is Light on roleplaying, yet you placed it in the Roleplay category. So what is it exactly?

Hi there everyone,
When I'll be ready, in the future I will update the first 3 trials. It will be possible to have all henchmen right from the start since they won't use the leadership feature anymore. I will also add a few new things too. (Please keep in mind that this will take a while!)

When I first started the Trials, I didn't quite know what to expect. For something that would be considered a test, it's bugless, action-packed and fun! ZW always had breath-taking areas with the effort put on design and details. The henchmen have personality and skills that can really help the PC. Not bad for a hack and slash! The dungeon is creepy and will send you chills in your spine! How many NWN modules can make you uneasy (in a good way!)? This one sure can... you'll never know what to expect in the next room. Everything is thought out meticulously from sounds to creatures to placables. Few NPCs but the one that are part of this mod are very colorful. The little conversation you have with Beorn and Petty will make you forget that it's a real hack-and-slash!! The Greyhawk setting is nice. Who would of thought that me, the role-playing gamer would enjoy this adventure so much? It's always that way when I play ZWs mods.
Two thumbs up, my friend!

Very nice short adventure. Stunning visual, original gamaplay feature, good sound. However story and henchmen are not as good as the rest. _________________________ The hottest new modules you can't miss - player suggested

This is a very short and streight forward adventure, it could let you a little disappointed by how thing are nearly abruptly ended, still as a short adventure is far better than most I have seen. Especially the visual detail put many other CEP mods to a shame.
The first chapter however is not as fast to involve you as you could think because of the original rules for reasting and healing here used. Also because of the weight of gold. These are nice implementation, but I would say they work better in a world type campaign and do not have that much sense in this straight forward style adventure. Still I suppose these were experiments and with this in mind I'd say they went well.
The only thing I found quite un-necessary is the no-map hak. It's true that the caves and other areas are not so huge, and it's also true that once you get used to them you won't be bothered so much, still it seems a little bit overdone to use it in any area. Especially because the no-map is equal to no-pin. You can't take a note about where things are and if you are willing to do so you are forced to draw maps on paper. The NWN map maybe is not perfect but still it makes the game more enjoyable.
However as an experiment was change to the gameplay, a slight annoying one but still a change in a three years old game can't be completely a bad thing. Also not to have a map make the advenuture longer and, well, more adventurose.
The three chapter are mostly equal in detail and gameplay, but here the boss is a little bit overdone for beginners characters. Maybe because I didn't found the killer bonus area, but I doubt that would have made things less challenging.
All in all a very good short adventure with original gameplay features and stunning visual (and good custom music too).
Voted 9.0, because dialogue are practically non-existant and henchmen are tactically better than usual but do not have anything to say a part for a couple of one liners. I didn't even know why they were there at the tower. _________________________ The hottest new modules you can't miss - player suggested

lebowski: Sure, let me know what you think! :) Because I know you've played a lot of modules out there! ;)
cegli: The purpose of turning the map off is mostly demonstrated in the last trial. (The forest areas!) With all 3 modules, it simply displays the unfamiliarity with the areas. Of course I could have made areas with and without maps once you would get to know them better, but that would have been a lot of work. Since the trials were simple tests for Blackwall Keep's remake, I didn't want to spend too much time and effort with the War of the wizards series. The reason why they are short and straightforward.

What was the rational for turning off the map. It doesn't seem to add much to the game but it sure creates busy work.

No one else reported this kind of crash and I've tried the first trial on many computers and neither of them crashed!
I think it's probably the way you've extracted the files. The only other thing I can think of, is the fact that there are many placeables in the modules and if you have a low end computer it may cause some problem.
Try extracting the files yourself into one folder and then move them accordingly.
Get back to me to see if you've solved the problem.
Thanks for reporting this.

Trial 1 crashes.
After extracting the various parts of the hak file I went into explorer and found that they had all made their own folders so I moved them into the proper folders for bik, bmu, and hak.
I started, picked a new mod, loaded premade level 2 character and started....black screen continuous music and the gold hand pointer....but nothing else. _________________________ Does this armor make my butt look big?
