Mordenkainen's Last trial V1.1 Chapter 3 of War of the Wizards Series. After successfully saving the elven boy, the second trial was completed. Now, Greenleaf rangers mentioned something about an Eye of Gruumsh, which has probably something to do with the last trial... An adventure which will lead your character in orc territory and into the lair of Gruumsh's champions. This is a hack'n slash adventure for the same characters as the first and second trials. (SEE THE READ-ME!!!) Rated teen but contains 'STRONG' language! (YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!) ZW.

Some minor nuances, but great overall. _________________________ Steve's Characters - please don't forget to vote on them if you play them.

Worse then the blackwall keep by the same author.
That does not mean it wasn't a nice thing to play.
Unlike the other 2 this one got restoration and antidote available to buy.
Few issues:
- outdated CEP haks apart from Familiar store crashes also cause weird "hitting" sounds. If you upload cep1patch169.hak above it(and thus overwriting it) the problem would be solved.
- putting back stolen items makes you still steal them and makes you more chaotic
- weird encounters: 1st:werewolf, boar and barbarian 2nd:harpy, owlbear and bear(harpy is out of place) _________________________ Thanks Rolo:)
Still have that red druid faction problem. To let you know, the red druids who are in the grove are in the defender faction as are the NPC's in the camp. There is NO way to avoid them. Even being a druid doesn't help as except for the greeting, the conversation is the same. The only chance to persuade comes if you are elven. Good luck fixing it. As for me I will delete them.

I was expecting this to be like the first two and it was, but it seemed like it had something extra. Very enjoyable. :D
Thanks for the vote and I'm glad you enjoyed it. Yeah I thought this one was of the best of all my Trial mods. It finally got down to the action I wanted to give to the players. :)
Ill try to update (Bring it to 1.68+ and CEP2 if possible!) and finish this series when Im done with BWK3.

The best orcs ever, seriously. Attention to detail is off the scale.
If ever you get to read this? I tried out Trials lately just to get back into them. I still did not have the problem you mentioned. Once I did the quest I returned to the elves and they brought me back to the camp. So I was able to finish the mod.

It's been a while since I haven't put my nose in these mods. Thought, if I remember right, it's possible to avoid the druids by being one! Maybe there are other possible ways, I'm not sure. But, I doubt the problem comes from the druids. I can't amend to the problem right now as I'm very busy with Blackwall Keep 2. But, if you really want to finish the mod and if you know your way around the toolset. Just delete the druids from the mod and this should help you out. If they are the cause of the problem that is!

I would like to finish this mod and if it is the confrontation with the red druids that is the problem could you tell me how to avoid them. I've tried all, I think, conversational gambits to avoid fighting but none work and once I come out of the tunnel there doesn't seem to be any way to sneak around them.
I see, I'll have to take a deep look at that problem then. Thanks for the feedback! :)

No, I didn't attack any NPC near the tree; the only NPC I fought who weren't immediately hostile were the Druids and the converstion led to the fight. No, while I did get into Mordenkainen's tower he was in no mood for conversation so I couldn't give him the head.
Once I'm done with the sequel of Blackwall Keep, I will probably do a big update the trials. But that will take a while as I have other projects for NWN as well.
Out of curiosity, did you kill a non-hostile npc around the Inn in the tree? Because that would help me find the faction problem.
Thanks!
ZW.

I' afraid I have a similar problem to Lebowski below. Once I have the head and return to the bridge where the two elves await they are not hostile but when we are transported back to camp everyone else is. Not only are they hostile but it is impossible to kill them. Even Mordenkainen when i managed to get to him. The only NPCs who weren't immediately hostile were the Red Druids; was I supposed to avoid that confrontation? Aside from that it was lots of fun.

The last trial by ZW plunges you in an action adventure that you'll remember for a long time. Once you're into the action it's hard to get out of it! This last trial is funny with the NPCs that we learnt to know and like, dramatic with the events you are a part of and once the action kicks in, it doesn't stop. These trials are only the beginning of a great saga that will keep you wondering and wanting to know more. It's not a walk in the park, believe me... it's challenging but it's also great fun. You will have an hack-and-slash experience unlike any other. The details, the setting will blow you away. I'm as impatient to see the rest of this series as I am to play ZW's new Blackwall Keep...
Kudos, ZW!!

I make a point of always give some feedback. After I play for free for hours and you worked for months so that's the least I can do. And I always vote too.
What are you working on at the moment? A sequel to these three trials or that other Blackwall Keep mod you are tlaking about is completely unrelated? Will it be a SP or MP mod? Do you have already an ETA? (Usually I do not ask this but you talk about it as if it is near complete). _________________________ The hottest new modules you can't miss - player suggested

An interview with me about NWN mods
Thank you for your comments and votes! :) It's really too bad you didn't make it to the end! :(
I'll have to check the factions on this! As none of them are global which is something I didn't expect to happen! Did you by any chance fight the traders near the inn? That might have been something I forgot to test out. (See the spoilers below...)
Anyhow, I'm glad you liked the trials because when I'll complete and release my Blackwall Keep remake, it will showcase a lot of things the trials didn't and I did an update on the use of thievery, killing and I've made better use of the no mini-maps this time. Some of them are shown to you. The module will also be open ended (with random quests!) and not straightforward just like my old version was. But, this time it will have a deeper story to it. If you liked the visuals from the trials, you'll like Blackwall Keep even more as I have spent the time with them, including many cutscenes!
After you complete the last trial, Mordenkainen tells you that you will travel with him far away... (To the Bright lands, Rary's Empire!) That adventure should give your character a lot more options than the first 3 trials and hopefully be longer!
Hope this helps! You can always play again and see for yourself when the update is up! ;)
Speaking of which. When people post to me like you do, it's easy to fix bugs and consider suggestions as well!
I will try to update as soon as I can and I may even add the map (For the PC to see and note stuff!) for Camp Greenleaf and for Mordenkainen's tower. I also need to update the beltpouch and backpack descriptions. They should say 2500 gp, not 1000 gp! :P
Thanks!
ZW.

Another small jewel. Longer than chpater II and III, less explorative but more combat intensive and challenging. _________________________ The hottest new modules you can't miss - player suggested

SPOILER BUG:
There is a very nasty faction bug. I don't know why but the two elves to whom I'm supposed to give back the orc leader head got hostile. So I couldn't end the mod. I suppose nothing particularly surprising happened in the end, but if you would like to tell me by mail or in the board here how it end I would be grateful.
END SPOILER BUG
The mod is as good as the other two. Actually it is better because is longer, there are more areas and the not so used winter forest tileset is present. It's also to note that the winter tileset is a very old tileset and I always found it boring after a while. The author here used so many clever CEP placeable to turn in it into another very good area as much as winter rural and interiors.
The mod as I said is longer and actually more challenging. The story is tied very loosely to chapter II plot, but it's actually a stand alone short adventure.
I'm sure the nasty bug will be fixed very soon and the mod will be as good as the other ones.
