Description
The Elder God of Darkness wages war upon Taelurien, and my permanent employer, Lord Jakar, Champion of Volroc, has sent me from Cormyr to the coastal city of Valra. Here I shall meet a local contact of mine who will expect me in the Temple of Solyana, in Valra's noble district. His name is Nico Taerlian, and since General Jakar did not come out with it in the first place, I am eager to see what kind of work is to be done...
This is a tale not only of winter in the world, but also of the winter a man can carry in his heart. It tells of a hired assassin in a time of twilight. The general background tone of the adventure is one of melancholy, and its anti-hero, who is included with the module, is not a mortal fiend or fanatic, but a fallen, sometimes even noble, human.

Burning a house down with people inside was a little too evil for my tastes, but storywise, this is one of the best stories of love and betrayal on the vault. _________________________ Steve's Characters - please don't forget to vote on them if you play them.

I just realized I used an alternate hak folder where I had a previous version of CEP. So, more files could be required then those three I pointed. Anyway, sure all af them can be located somewhere in the vault. After an unsucessful start, you always can see a list with the files missing in the file:
nwn(main installation folder)/logs/nwclientlog1.txt
And sorry about the typos :|

A very nice mod. Linear and short, but flawless and without a bug. Very interesting to for a change from the "good" characters that most modules require.
A it pity doesn't last a big longer, and that the sequel was cancelled, but anyway, a satand alone short story it is quite good.
Note: in order to play, some old files can be needed. With CEP 2.4 intalled, it required me to find the files:
cep.tlk
cep1patch.hak
cep2da.hak
(I think I couldfind all three in the links provided. If not, a bit of searching across the vault will locate which could remain)

Good mod! Very linear and straight, but that's what so good about it. You simply do mission after mission until you get to the simple ending, pretty short and easy on a brain.
I am trying to play this module, but when I load it up I am given an error message of a missing talk table. My error log isn't very helpful, and I didn't notice a custom talk table in the module download. Please help!

I liked this module. Nice atmosphere, fairly engaging story. I particularly enjoyed the "feel" of being an Assassin taking jobs. Some combat was extremely difficult, but I might have missed some items and stuff on the way.

I replayed this not too long ago and I have to say it's a good portrayal of a sympathetic villain. I would have liked to see a sequel (of any kind), but I do understand how time could be a problem.

I read that there will be no sequel. How wrapped-up is this mod's ending? _________________________ One feels inclined to say that the idea that man should be "happy" is not included in the plan of "creation". - Sigmund Freud

I chose an "adult" rating because of "interactive" courtesans in the bordello.

Maybe I didn't ask... why is the content rated adult? _________________________ Steve's Characters - please don't forget to vote on them if you play them.

A fun one. I played through with the default character. Good atmosphere, some unique moments, and the tasks certainly put you in the role of an assassin. Couldn't give a 10, though, because I didn't enjoy the final battle. I think my character was missing one of the module's more powerful items, but even so, it didn't seem to follow with the rest of the module's tone.
Sure you have a point but sometimes that silly adventurer need to take chances if he/she wants to find a plot item (e.g. key).
I will retry it with your specified char or with one of mine.
*lol* I think I understand your post correctly... Yes, 'Ed' is some kind of a nuisance, if in no way obligatory to complete the dungeon... Just something for an evil-minded DM to watch the fun of players getting killed for carelessly tossing over ages-old stone urns ;)
Had a good time early on with my rogue/druid but while looking for a key my char got lost in a crypt/maze (may be it was a portal malfunction). Found a NPC (Ed) but he is not the guy I was looking for, I guess he does not have the key I need. Worse, I think that spell killed me... Now since we are in good terms with some of the Dark Powers may be some reaper guy could do something to fix the situation. Not a chance.

Really Nice, Linear but who's to say a good story needs to be open ended.

Sad thing about the sequel. But it deserves a vote nonetheless, though one i should have given a long time ago.
Thanks for voting guys... great to see that you enjoyed the mod.

Great module. There are not many assassin/rogue modules out there, especially for higher level characters. Great story, appropriate settings and NPCs. I really liked this module a lot!

Nice mod. But I just hate pre-generated characters so I used my own.

This mod's rating is unfair... Hmpf. I give it a ten, one of the best _________________________ "I just love your pointy ears" Said the orc. "Really? I do like your large fangs" Replied the elf.
Hi Max, thanks for your vote! Development of the sequel was halted due to real life obligations, and I won't have the time to finish it. Perhaps I'll create a new adventure when nwn2 comes out, though I am a bit disappointed of nwn2 graphics. We'll see.

Emperor Levistus,
Best mod yet. But I would have liked to have played my own character. Hope you have time to come out with a sequel only next time have the guys show a little more skin.
Just the facts from Max

I dodn't change the mod, just reworked the description and specs a bit... you should have the same version.
