Modual Update 4 - OK, this fix is for Dorhum, fixes the problem with him not leveling up.
Update 3 - Version 5 Enhanced Edition -
This will be the final update done to the mod; this version of the mod is highly edited. Most levels have been highly detailed with new grass, rock and many other placeable items. Some areas have been redone and the areas changed. A lot of new bug fixes, script changes and fixes, most of the Armor in the game has been changed with a new makeover look. Difficulty levels of many creatures have been increased. The overall Cosmetic look of the entire mod will look and feel different. Plus many other changes and fixes and some new weapons added.
Be warned now, this new mod can cause older slower PCs or older graphic cards could have issues with performance.
You absolutely must use v 5 of the Mod and Hak pack and the two new hak files for the armor changes or the armor will look cosmetically odd.
We hope you enjoy it,
Update 2 -- Version 4 of the mod and HAK file are now avalible, it contains many bug fixes, texture updates and enhancements. Some new weapons have been added the vendors, Flails and a few other weapons for some of the other classes that needed them. Ver 4 of the HAK file is Now avalible.
Update -- I have uploaded the prior ver 2.7 of the mod for those in Germany, Spain and Italy. patch 1.69 was not translated for those in Europe. This version of the mod is also compatible with the newer 3.0 hak file.
New Enhanced Ver 3.0 This version is now compatable with patch 1.69.
Eye of the Beholder v3.0 Enhanced is finally here. You now start at level 2 and get more money to buy a few better items to help you get going a little quicker. Note: You must use the newest v3.0 HAK File of you will have issues playing the mod.
We have included many new encounters to give you a more realistic feel. The biggest change is the way some of the scripts have been rewritten and the newer textures for the Undead. The new textures are just really well done. This is a community add-on that we have added to the mod. Wait until you see them!!
The New Textures apply o the following creatures.
Werewolves, 5 remodeled Zombies and Warriors, Mummies, Ghouls, Ghast, Wights, New Kobolds, Ravangers, Litches, Vampires, Undead Skeletons and Warriors, Ogres, Doom Knights, Imps. And the Newer and meaner Beholder.
We have also added a few new boss encounters too; these can be found in the secret dungeon. Also with those there are some new armor and weapons added to help fill out a few of the other classes. The overall difficulty has been increased in certain areas. There are also 2 new cut scenes added. I cant say that there will be any more updates to the mod. So we really hope you enjoy the new enhanced version.
ATI CARD owners there is an issue with some of the later ATI drivers. YOU MAY/MUST TURN OFF SHINNY WATER or the game will crash when loading the first cut scene.
The EOB Team is proud to release Eye of the Beholder. This mod can be played solo or with 4 player multiplayer. Each of the 12 levels has been recreated from the original maps used in the 1991 version created by Westwood Studios, 2 SECRET LEVELS and 8 in-game cut scenes. The original Clue Book for EOB can be used to help you complete the game, if you dont have the clue book we have included a PDF Walk thru to help you. There are over 25 side quests in Eye of the Beholder that can be completed. Don't rush through the maps or you will miss out on over 200 new magical items that have been added to the game. There are 7 new Henchman that have been created just for Eye of the Beholder. Find them and use them, as they will be one of your greatest assets in the game when you are fighting for your life. We hope you will enjoy playing Eye of the Beholder as much as we did creating it. - EOB Team
Eye of the Beholder walk through. This walkthrough is only meant as a guide to help you through the underworld. Use either Adobe PDF reader or Microsoft word to view these files.
This is a prior version of the mod file for those in Germany, Spain and Italy. Because their version of the 1.69 patch has not been translated yet. So this is for you guys overseas. This mod version is compaitble with the 1.68 version of the patch.
Eye of the Beholder v5.0 Enhanced Edition - Updated fix for Dorhum level up issue. Now compatable with patch 1.69 EOB HAK File v5.0 is required to play this mod. Warning, this mod can cause performance issues if you have a slow PC.
EOB HAK File v5.0 Enhanced, this HAK File is required to play the mod, playing without this hak file will cause issues while playing. contains new textures and updated .2da files.
Good seeing you again. Make sure you download the latest version if you do. Im going to be starting up a new web page for Eye of the Beholder 2. That site will be available very soon, will post a link once its up.

just wanted to say thanks again for this great module. For my birthday I had friends over and 5 of us played til 3am. We got the the Owl bears and Sara's sister before fatigue and old age caught up with us. It was a lot of fun even though two players were new to NWN
Skaarj, I have a feeling you dont speak good English so Im having some difficulty understanding your question. But if youre asking if theres a pit to jump though in the dwarven barracks. Then yes. There still are. But remember the levels are split up so you will have to go to the other areas to find those pits. But everything that was in the original game is here in this one too. You just have to search it out. Maybe give me some map coordinates to help me understand where u are talking about. _________________________ Dark

In the original recall, there were holes in the southeast of the location - you can fail, there now clean. In the barracks, the dwarves were illusory wall to the east, followed by a lot of teleporters and stairs down - now there's a door with DC 100.
Thanks!

Hopefully last update. It's working properly. Dorhum has levelled up to level 14 without problems.
Good work, Dark... Your efforts are really appreciated.
Save games use the version you started the game with, so yes a new game is the only way to see the changes.

I overwrote the old version but maybe the old version is inside the savegame. I will start a new game this afternoon. It can take a while to get to Dorhum so be patient.
Since you are playing with the older version, please try it with the new one. I think he will be ok with this new patch. let me know. _________________________ Dark

Another question: Do I need to start a fresh game to see the Dorhum fix working? I am asking this because I travelled back to the dwarven halls from level 11; rehired Dorhum but he can't still level up properly. If a new game is mandatory, then it will take some take to get to level 5 again before I can confirm whether the fix works or not.

Confirmed that KIRATH (I misspelled his name before) isn't casting any spells at least for me.

Hello again. I think I may have found another glitch affecting henchmen. I found Kiran remains, resurrected him and allowed to join my party. At the next encounter he didn't cast any spells; he just went hand to hand in combat with his staff. I will do some more testing in the afternoon.

Thank you. I will report as soon I am able to test the new Dorhum behaviour. I will probably start anew soon (I am at level 10 now).
Yes, jsut that new update is all that is required.
And No, he is a fighter, not a pladin. That is how it reads in the book. _________________________ Dark

OK. I guess downloading the EOB_MOD_v5_.8z.zip file is enough, isn't it?

I have another minor complaint. Beohram should be a Paladin not a Fighter, shouldn't he? Is this intentional?

Thanks. I have just arrived from a short vacation. Are the new files uploaded yet? If so, which ones must I download?
Ok, thats good info. I do recall seeing this and I have fixed this in my latest build. The problem is when you choose different level up traits like Dwarven Defender. Those as I found out and yourself will not level the Henchman up. Its BS that Bioware made these and have them there to be used but they fail to do anything when being used on NPCs.
I have the new build, so Ill get it uploaded and hopefully if you do play it again, you can let me know what happens.
Thanks again for the feedback.

I have a minor question about this. On the NPC sheet for Dorhum, it says "Dwarven defender". That's a prestige class isn't it? Can it be alone or does it need another regular class, like fighter too?

Thank you very much for spending your time looking into this. In the interim I am with Anya near the end (level 8). I have tried hiring Sister Ilieria and she does level up properly though.
Best regards.
PS - I might be replaying it again, hiring Dorhum if you manage to fix it...
I am currently looking into this issue; Im not sure what might be going on with this npc not leveling up. From what I can tell now, everything is looking ok.
I will most likely rebuild this char and upload a new version of the mod. Unfortunately this will also mean restarting the game over again. Its the way the system works and not an issue with our mod that allows you to use the newer mod. Sorry. Ill let you know once I have a good version uploaded.
Thanks,

No luck in getting this to work. After rehiring Dorhum everything is still the same.

Hmm. I thought I have voted.
Well, I think this module deserves a plain 10, just for the huge work done. I guess hoping for a EOB2: Legend of Darkmoon mod is too much, no?

Hello. I am having the same levelling up issue with Dorhum. He is at level 1 permanently. Getting the same message: "Level up failed for Dormun in class 36". I am gonna try your suggestion to fire him and rehire him.
