Firefly (yes, Firefly, the Joss Whedon-created TV series) - the town of Canton - dusty, terraformed worlds, smugglers' spaceships, six-shooters, and horses!
This is the introductory adventure for the Nightfire: Firefly NWN System. It is for DM-run games only, though you can walk through much of the module in single-player. Installation: 1. Unzip the three numbered haks (1, 2, and 3) into your hak directory. 2. Get BOTH files from the Firefly Update Hak page; uncompress ff_update.hak (updated 10/2/06) and spaceset2.hak into your nwn\hak directory, and firefly.tlk into your nwn\tlk directory (make one if you don't have one). 3. Get the movie put it in your nwn\movies directory. 4. Get the 3 music paks on the site; unzip into the nwn\music directory (optional). The module uses a lot of custom content from the D20 Modern team. The readme's for all content are included with the Hak Paks.
I'm having a problem running this. I do not know if a .rar file has to be unpacked or what program i need to do that, could someone please post a set of intsall instructions for dummies like me. I realy want to try this mod out and maybe run it with my group.

Can't stop the Signal, Mal!
Thank you so much for this! I haven't had NWN (1) installed for quite some time. I was just thinking back on my days with the Arcane Space Team and wanted to see how far along the d20 Modern system was coming. Downloaded all of that... then, just for kicks I typed 'firefly' into the search and look what I found! I guess I won't have to be building my own NWN Firefly system after all!
Thanks AGAIN!!!
Are you playing it single-player? It's a mod for use with a DM only. In any case, you should be fine in single-player mode at the starting area - there's just not much to SEE there.
If you're trying it single-player, try it in DM Client instead, and take a good look around - lots to see.

As the DMFI reviewer for this module and as a former co-dm of Forrestwolfs...I can say without hesitation that this is a well built conversion of unparalleled proportions. A 10 is not high enough IMO...LION _________________________ "When I have to make a decision between two evils, I always pick the one I haven't tried before."

Thanks, Wolf! I might take you up on that. :) Right now, we're working on areas, transitions, sounds, music, and dialog, but any help is greatly appreciated!
Enam, thank you SO much for trying to get it done! I think a SP mod will go a long way to spread the word on Firefly/Serenity, and I can't wait to play it myself :) If you need any help on understanding scripts or any of the bits of new material I've made for my own campaign, just email me!

Shrike, me and the Tucson Area Browncoat Society are workin' on a full-fledged, single-player module revolving around the crew of the Firefly-class boat "Freebird." Thank God for all of the work that Forrestwolf did on this, already. :) Now, all we need is voices, muzak, and some scripting work.
Look for the Freebird Chronices module around February, and thanks, again, Wolf for the great job you did on importing Firefly into NWN.

Let me say again I would love a Firefly SP module. :) _________________________ Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is Liberty.

An excellent total conversion; I ran a FF campaign for about 3 months, starting with this module, and it was a great time.

Hmmmmmm... Haven't been this excited since they cancelled the Nuclear Winter Nights mod for NWN: FoT. I like it, love it, want some more of it. If you need help doing more SP modules, lemme know.
I know you are happy as you are without an SP project still think of how happy you'll be when will all praise you for it!
Also your system is a big change from the standard NWN and I'm sure very few people are able to use it and competent enough on Firefly to make a good SP mod from it. (Stephen Gange is probably but HexCoda is taking all his time)
You are the creator and a big fan so obviously you'll do a good work. I'm sure of that. _________________________ The hottest new modules you can't miss - player suggested

An interview with me about NWN mods
Oh, my. I step away for a bit, and I've got people protesting :)
DMFI certification! Woo hoo!
This is pretty close to SP, folks - check out the new DM guide for it - maps and a run-through and everything. Firefly in a can...
I know. SP. Now you have me at least thinking about it again.
