Description
Make sure to download the LS_SP.tlk file and place in your C:/NWN/tlk folder! I forgot this step earlier! Sorry for all the troubles I have caused you guys =)
This is the DEMO I promised. It is a way to say sorry because I missed the pre-planned release date by a long stretch! The full module is currently close to 90% done and is expected to be released before October! Please give feedback and suggestions after you played the DEMO!
In this demo module you will get a taste of:
-many choices in dialogue options
-heavy roleplaying(quests, especially side quests will have a lot of alignment shifts based on choices)
-romance options for both male and female characters
-an orginal story loosely tied to Japanese History.
MODULE REQUIRES NWN with both SoU and HotU installed and updated to version 1.66 to play!
And Sorry the file is so big, I figured the hakpak won't be the same as the demo version hakpak once the full version is done. So this demo includes the hakpak inside the rar file!

Played it after Ronin, Kensai of Kyoto. Again a masterpiece. Thanks for this short demo. Hope someday you return to module making Avi. Still you made a hell of work.
I admit there were issues with language. But for me most important is story. And your stories were so captive I dont care for little flaws.

I loved it, specially the dialogue with the female ronin.

A fantastic demo. I can't wait to see the rest, I really hope this comes out soon. Thank you Avi!

Hmm looks like this project has been abandoned, but hey, Ill offer my views anyway.
Good things: Cut scenes were well done. They were a good length and the words were never chopped off. The story looks like it the possibility to be quite intriguing and having the characters stick to Japanese forms of address was also a nice touch.
Things that need work: The biggest problem for me was grammar. In nearly every piece of dialogue, there were mistakes. Im guessing this was written by someone with English as their second language, if so great work, but it really needs to be proof read and edited by a second source. Another problem is that the outdoor areas seemed a bit lifeless. Having more people and varying the terrain with the odd hill or valley would help this I think. There is potential here so it is a shame that this looks like it will be the final version : (

This was stunning, and I'm sure the finished module would've been amazing. It really is a shame that it looks like it'll never be finished.
Bugger. Now I have to try and find something else that's as good as this, and I don't think that's going to happen.

I love the cinematic cut scenes in this module. Having played "Ronin Kensai of Kyoto" im sure this on would have been a winner if it was continued. I love Avi's work, and Im a big fan of Japanese history.
I hope Avi just got tierd of NWN and went on to others things and that nothing has happend to her.
If you read this let us know Avi.

This was a great Demo Avi. I like this better than the last one that Rounin one.
It was fun, I loved the music and the dailog. The male option option seems mysterious. I liked how people called me either Sama or Chan. Your really well-versed in Japanese culture aren't you?
I was wondering... if you have more romance options for males can you at least have two for females? In the last Rounin one I played the romances for the male one and female... and the female romance option for males was more indepth. You had people fighting over you as a dude. It was kind of nerve wracking no offense... because as female pc I would have loved to see men fighting over me. It's flatering. Anyway.
Hum. I don't know if I have any more suggestions because it looks GREAT so far. Maybe... hum... Um... I don't know.
Your really great at doing romances! Really! That's the best part... your game reminds me of a song called Butterfly. Of course it's not all about Samurai romance...

Very good, voted accordingly since it was a very short demo.

Ronin was awesome, and this one looks even better. It would be a damn shame if this module wasn't finished. So i keep on hoping... _________________________ "Duty is everything - the greatest of joys, the deepest of sorrows..."

Avi, I am so excited that this module is still in the works. Thank you. My family and I are all excited about the possibility of playing this during the December holidays this year, 2007. I hope you have time to work on it, and perhaps post an updated module before mid December. (?!?) Even if it is not complete, it would be wonderful to have your latest work.

Alas, but as much as I want to believe otherwise, I don't think this module will ever be completed. I've tried to contact the author, but she's never answered.

-0.2475 because of updates are REEEALLY late..
Other than that I have too say this is a really great demo...
Avi please come back, you have been a great oriental modder. Please don't let an unfinished project becomes your reason for retiring from modding.
As long as you finish another great work, fans will overlook this one mistake.
Hey look at it this way, they are all disappointed because they recognized your talent in modding are really looking forward to the release (as I am).
From a fan of your works.

i love this demo i know the real module will be 10x better but you got all the weapons for the real d&d samurai class right but one thing i loved was you used the diffrent skills to do speacial things like auto kills i think more than the real game did nice job
Loved Ronin samurai of Kyoto. Too few oriental modules in the Vault. Been waiting a long time for Dusk of a samurai full version but seems it will never be. Avi last logged 6 months ago and seem to have dissappeared from the Vault. Disappointed.

Ill give this Demo a 9... why? i really loved the story its based on (samurais rock! :D) i found no critical bugs (only 1 little bug which i dont remember) soi think it really deserves a 9 Lets give Avi thumbs up for great work!

Any chance of perhaps informing use even a little about the date the full version will come out?
Posted by Midnight16 at 2007-04-08 16:40:12 Voted 9.50 on 04/08/07
This demo was excellent and I'm sorry to see that a full version is likely never to come out. I echo thoughts that a bit more polish and this would be perfect. _________________________ Stupidity should hurt...a lot...

Hallo Avi
For what i aleady see this Module will be great:):):).
I was too busy play this piece of Marvelous japan Sushi ;), that i even noticed any bugs and other (foul creatures ;) ).
You are Exellent Mod creator and i will unpatiently wait to play full Module.
Again Great work !!! worth full 10 .:):)

As far as being a demo goes, this was pretty excellent. The visuals were great (although not quite as impressive as they'd have been when the module was released), the music beautiful, and the general atmosphere superb.
The story-telling technique was really original and gripping, although a little hampered by the incorrect grammar and plentiful typos. When the English was correct, it was very expressive and entertaining to read.
The author obviously has a grasp of dramatic flair and this was shown through the use of cutscenes and dynamic music.
Alas, I can't rate a 1 1/2-hour demo much higher than this, particularly when it did have a number of bugs. It's a shame that the full module looks like it'll never be released: With some polish, including a thorough dialogue edit by a native English-speaker, I'm sure the full version of this module would be something of masterpiece.
Regards,
Alazander.

is a real shame i really hope i'm wrong but i "think" that this great piece of art is canceled, again i hope i'm wrong but it has been 2 years (almost) since the announce of dusk of the samurai and yet there has been little or none proof that it is still been developed,
Avi you are a great authoress and a true inspiration for the players of NWN but the delays on the mod and the complete lack of news, updates, or anything is making me question wheter or not this mod is ever going to be finished a shame really because as of yet despise the fact that is a "demo" (REALLY short and with LOTS of bugs) it has remained in the top 10 modules of this page and it will remain there because is a nearly perfect module but that's it is been so long since it was announced that i don't think there' ever going to be any full release of this unique module T_T Avi Please don't let your fans down take care ^^ _________________________ There is no emotion there is only peace....
The demo was great, please release the full mod so I can play the rest. I loved the combat system, the story was great I hope to see more great work like this in the future. :)
I hope you will release the full module soon! Loved the demo and want more. Please, please don't abandon this wonderful mod. Look forward to your continued work on this.

awesome!
love the music, scenery, etc...
too bad it's just a demo cuz i was just getting into the story and then it ended.
another thing is, i think the areas are a bit too large....but that's just my opinion
