This module is a demonstration of my Overland Travel System idea. It allows the players to travel across a map to get from one location to another, instead of walking through the countryside.

Love the system. I am using it in a Prefab I have(I just changed the map though). Now if I can figure out how to have two different maps. One maybe for a continent(for example) and another for a sea(with islands).
Anyway, a 10 from me. _________________________ "Knowledge knows no bounds! But hindsight might wish that there had been some!"
Thanks, guys. I really did this just to demonstrate my idea (which I wrote up in the ideas section.) I am not a 3D modeller, but it is pretty easy to import a map as an object.
Ideally you would want to create placeable citys, ruins, etc. to put on the map as selectable locations. This also adds the ability to hide a location until the player is told about it (which would then create the placable).

This is AWESOME I would want a birthright version though.

Dude, i love this idea. It's really good! It's just a shame people have to download the image, or else i'd use it myself. The only way for now is to make a nwn version of it, making the map out of nwn/cep placeables. if you know what i mean. I just love your idea though, it's odd no one has ever used it before! :O 10 points! _________________________ xcpax - Kill em all, let god sort em out!

MrMonko:
I have this done with the FR maps (just the "central" areas and the Hak itself is 33Mb.
... but damn is it fun just "walking" through the Realms

I had a play with your idea Shawn. Replace your triggers and firey pillars of light with Globe placables and scripts on the OnUsed event to handle the area transitions, and you can give the placables names and descriptions, and it works much better. Now all we need is a tool to easily create the map placables from a map image and we would be set.

I wrote this in the rating, but in case you don't read that: this is really good, but maybe if you include a few maps so that e.g. if someone wanted to use the forgotten realms map with this system they could.

Really nice! I'd been waiting for someone to come out with something like this, maybe put together a hak with a few maps for different places?

Nice system. Can be useful sometimes.

Hmmm, it kept crashing on load, but once I moved the startng location it loaded properly. So if you're having problems open it up and make a new starting point.
