Need exit from Onoo's conversation. When Zar encountered Polly they should have both disappeared, and then allow some conversation with Onoo. Talking to Polly after that (keep the same world ending) was a real downer. The structure of the chicken respones didn't encourage going back to the farmer to talk.

7.25 MYSTERIOUS VOICES (217TH TESTED MODULE)
This is my updated scoring system structured around the format provided by Bioware. The final score is still consistent with my old system, but I hope to give clearer feedback within the new guidelines. NB: Judging any material is always subject to personal taste. I have tried hard to be as objective as possible. Remember, this is only my opinion; Biowares is the one that counts! If you believe I have scored your module unfairly, or I have missed something of importance, please email me at [email protected] and I will consider any comments made.
All nine Bioware points can score a maximum of 1 point each, leaving 1 point for my personal interest/like of the module.
Text of Module: (2.0 out of 3)
The Writing: (I do not scan the writing looking for errors, but if I notice something while reading it, I will note it here.) I noticed misuse (and overuse) of punctuation and poor sentence structure. Also Fare well >Farewell. (0.5)
Characterization: I liked all the characters. (1.0)
Dialog Flow: This flowed most of the time, although I did not know who HER was on my first conversation. How did we know Zar could talk from Bok. Bok.? The conversation with the farmer was the wrong way round at the end. There were some limited choices at times. (0.5)
Concept & Execution: (4.5 out of 6)
Originality/Creativity: I thought it was original. (1.0)
Logical Flow: I thought everything flowed fine. (1.0)
Drama: Having the chickens speak (although expected) was a dramatic moment. (0.5)
Pacing: The pace picked up as we looked into the evil chickens eyes. (0.5)
Character Development: There was development in the chickens. (0.75)
Multiple Paths: I have assumed at least three endings. (0.75)
Conclusion: Technically, this module scored above average in the writing in my opinion. (2.0/3) The story scored above average in my opinion. (4.5/6). My personal score is 0.75 out of 1.0 because I did like the idea and felt that there was emotion (and heart) in this piece in a strange way. It touched me on some primal level. Who thought chickens could do that? It shows there was something more than chickens at work here the writing. (A hard module to grade under the circumstances of using chickens for such a momentous idea.)
MY SCORE SYSTEM (IMHO):
< 5 Not up with the competition.
5 - 6 Average.
7 - 8 Above average.
> 8 An exceptional piece
PERSONAL SCORING FACTORS (IN ORDER OF MY PRIORITIES):
GRAB FACTOR: How quickly am I involved in the action? Do I have direction?
PLOT: Is the story engaging? Is subject interesting? Varied conversation choices?
CHARACTERS: Are they easily identifiable? Are they rounded/memorable?
SPELLING & GRAMMAR: Is the text easy to read? Are there quite a few errors?
OTHER FACTORS (MINOR INFLUENCE): Design for atmosphere & scenery, including sounds & props. Quality of module stability; does it break easily? _________________________ World of Althéa Blog: Link

Chickens? Did I see chickens? Serious, this one is hard to grade. I found the storyline and writing style amusing which is nice to see, but I'm not sure how this could fit into a real NWN quest...if you substitute humans/orcs/whatever for the chickens it doesn't work. I also found some of the NPC characters annoying. I'd like to see some other work by the writer...but this isn't the module for me.

Amusing story, with unusual NPCs which constant movements made it difficult to pursue conversation without using the Pause button. Dialog options were repetitive and although many choices were offered, too many lead to deadends or were inconsistent (e.g. asking about "HER" without prior indication).

Well written and good idea!

This mod is smart, lively and enjoyable. Unlike a lot of mods, which offer only stock monologues interrupted by "continue" prompts, this one has distinctive characters and creative diaglogue. It involves the player in a world that is weird enough to be fun yet layered enough to be engrossing. For a score based on original and inventive dialogue, this mod gets a 10/10.

Heheh, I think this must be an alltime record: saving life, the universe and everything within 5 minutes!
I thought the story was amusing and intruiging up to the point where I found out what the relationship between the chickens was. To be honest: I don't care for symbolism if it is used like that. I mean: symbolism can add depth and dimension to stories, but stories that are built on symbolism alone quickly become vague and annoying. Of course, this is a matter of personal taste, but I am here to judge what I like. Despite all this, I still rate this module favorably: the writing was quite decent.

oh, bugger. this one is hard to grade. the story by itself is quite fun. but the question is, are you hiding behind the chickens? well, are you? hmm? hmm? hmm? there is a lot of creativity and interesting ideas, but if i replaced the chickens with people, then the whole story would be a bit too over the top and the characters would be mawkish. with chickens in the place of humans, the melodramatic nature of this piece works quite well. or as well-stated by my character, arrrggghhh!!!
you've put me in a bind. you can write well for a chicken, but ... NOOOO!!! what should I ever so ever so ever do??? the hardest part is creating characters that feel real. characters that people will care about. by using chickens, you kinda sidestepped that whole challenge. for someone with as much writing talent as you, i'm not going to let you get away with that so easily, heheheh.

Interesting story idea

There are many things to like about this mod. Being based solely on writing technique, the writer attributes feeling and vibrance to each of the characters. I begin to understand the pasts of each one, how they came to be, and the future that awaits all of them. Each of the three characters are all different, ending up becoming a chicken through the matters of life. I liked it because of the originality, and how everything is consistent. Not a typical fairytale, you're more drawn to a short story which is all above what really matters.

Yet another Chicken Tale. Or Chicken Little as written by Michael Moorcock. And again traces of Harry Potter. Two endings.

When I started to play this mod, the exterior didn't seem to be very exciting. When I decided to take a closer look, the dialogue is VERY well made and articulate! Though being mostly dialogue-based, the feeling that you get when playing through this mod is similar to reading a book. Sometimes when you read a very good book, you can almost feel your pulse and mind racing in sequence to know what happens. That feeling is similar in this mod. I would undeniably give this mod an EASY 10/10!

I thought that the writer did a great job of creating distinct characters with appropriate dialogue. The one big moment that surprised me in this module was handled entirely by writing - a big plus for me that affected my choice of rating. The only downside for me was his decision to use such an oddball group for his world-ending scenario; they clashed with the high-concept, high-fantasy story.
