Description
Your work for the Elven army has brought you fame in the past, but the recent peaceful times in the land have left you unemployed, forced to live life as the simple thief you once were. Can you work your way back to the top?
V1.1: Made a couple of small changes, nothing too major.
First to JeremyinOhio, the module is taking place in "The Land of Turtle" so I suppose a jungle village with some explosives is not out of the question. Also rogues and thieves do what they do based on their motivations, evil ones may do evil things... Nothing new here but I suppose one can always go play darts or whatever if they cannot play a not so honorable thief or simply play another module.
I wish I could agree with DSenset but could not. If this is a parody then yes anything is OK including beach girls asking my ninja if he "would like to be an actress". Yet it is more like an "Oriental Adventure" story. So characters like ninja or better yakuza should fit the profile. A plain vanilla rogue on the other is less likely to use exotic weapons like katana.
I wish there was a pre-made character included in the zip.
Had some minor problems with street lights, villagers attacking each other, pet inflicting damages to my character among other things.

enjoyable. A nice medium sized, rather unusual module. but I sense a certain tendency towards ermh...ambient areas...and ambient plots and ...ambient modules :) atmosphere is most certainly ok. Unfolds quite like real life. _________________________ Five Flagons Inn: Link - ds-tl Theater Scripting Language: Link - dstl NWN2: Link - NWN2 one-click GUI away (except chat-windows): Link - NWN1 small file extensions for SP (and General MIDI): Link - Suggested Naming Conventions: Link - DS Sneaking: Link - DS Base (Pseudo-)Maze: Link
I was looking for Rogue specific mods and found this. Regrettably.
There's a battle scene prelude that shows you becoming a war hero by destroying an enemy munitions building. (A jungle native munitions building. Yeah, I don't get it either.) Once that bit is done you find yourself in your village home, contemplating your war hero status and how it's done nothing for you financially. The answer of course it to go back to your thieving ways and claw your way to the top. (And I think we can all agree that stealing from your neighbors with the option of killing them in the process is a good message to send to the kids.)
Starting with the prelude and continuing through the rest of the module - or what little I was willing to play - you're given next to no direction. "I need help but damn if I'll tell you where to go or how to get there." I gave up when I was told I wasn't strong enough to climb a rope necessary to complete a mission. First, though I've got a STR of 10 - I'm a halfling. We don't weigh much. And two, okay fine, if I need to be a bodybuilder to use the rope why not make a potion of strength available at the merchant? Reward the players for thinking a little.
