Not a bad little module. The plot and dialogue made sense and the scripting was done well. Thanks for the generously provided items. _________________________ Defeat the Black Knights! Play Phantasie

This short adventure could be a side-quest in a larger module. Not that that's a bad thing. This module is good for an evening's entertainment. Fun, but not outstanding, although the dialogue was above par. My biggest criticism is that I finished this a week or so ago, and I don't remember much about it.
Mirgalen - Admittedly I am not really up on the rules - most of my AD&D books are 1st edition, so what I know about the current rules is just from playing NWN and NWN2. In my experience playing modules, I can almost never make it through 4 fights before resting, unless maybe playing a fighter without spell-casting companions. In general, I am more likely to be frustrated when the battles in other modules are too hard as opposed to too easy, so I sympathize with you. I will revise the level range description to emphasize that 5th level is recommended, with 4th level an option for players wanting additional challenge or for particularly strong classes. Most, but not all of the battles are encounters rather than placed creatures, and they should scale, but the system is not perfect and certain variables like minimum number of creatures could still make them difficult for lower level characters, although they were generally designed to be relatively easy. Admittedly, some of the castle defenses are tough, but I thought that made sense in the context of the story. _________________________ Ninja School -- a short NWN training and adventure module for young players. I would like to revise my previous comment but having played the module previously and even this time around w/o Mr Dave I think my vote will remain as it is.
There is no Mr Dave in the module, I indeed had left Juhas Override Spells-Srebro in my folder and somehow got that Mr Dave to show up.
* Spoilers *
I was playing Teotihuacan yet another druid lvl 4 (finished lvl 5). The CR, party lvl and EL are all from the rules and can be found on the web. IIRC, every time I played I had a hard time with pretty much everything from kobolds to orcs and from skeletons to the "enchanted armors" not to mention the pesky little imps and what not. I also remember getting fried once or twice during the final fight (due to area effect spells) between the two key NPCs. I also want to clarify that the combat system is designed so that the party will be able to fight four times between rest. The way it is, even if the foes are not too tough, I had to rest after every fight if I wanted to win the next encounter. My character had little if any magic item but yet did fit the "classes" description above AFAIK.
Thanks for the recent votes and comments, amers1015 and Mirgalen. I am sorry you didn't like the module a little better, Mirgalen - you probably played it more times than anyone except me :-) I think there is only one NPC that has to die to advance the main plot (which I think is justified in that case), although in other cases you may have to kill an NPC to complete a side quest. Overall I don't think most people thought the combat was too hard although there are perhaps 2 encounters that I would say are challenging- were you playing a 4th or 5th level character with the companion in your party? Let me know which encounters you thought were hard on the hardcore setting. I don't know what you mean about the guy following you around or the weird scripts when resting - I have never heard that before. Are you using any overides or anything? If you post or send me more details I can look into it. I did not use any custom resing or custom AI scripts when I made this mod - everything is standard. _________________________ Ninja School -- a short NWN training and adventure module for young players. In short, a nice story spoiled by poor combat balance makes this an average module at most.
I played this module 3-4 times (but only once the latest version) and I never found it outstanding.
This time around I did see some NPCs not seen before as well as some weird scripts firing up when you try to rest (PC property? equip item swapped out?).
* Minor Spoilers *
At one point I switched to easy settings to try to charm a NPC but there was no point because of a script linked to that character. The author simply overlooked what a mage (for instance) would try to do to avoid killing the guy. I somehow ventured into the woods before switching back to hardcore settings (I simply forgot). There, a Mr Dave showed up and silently followed us until the end. With that guy around the entire module was a cake walk (and felt like a joke). Yet, after reloading with the correct settings (and no Mr Dave) I found a major weakness I had seen when I previously played it: Combat balance. Why do you need to rest after every encounter? Simply because with an EL of 6+ where the party lvl is 2 the chances of being defeated are quite high. True sometimes you may get help (e.g. friendly ghost) but only if you do specific things before entering the building.

Very nice work! This was just the perfect little mod to kill a couple of hours before bedtime. I encountered no bugs of any kind, which is always nice. I enjoyed the henchman, she was very likeable. I had a good time with this, great job! _________________________ The less you know, the more you believe.
Thanks for the comments and votes, Number 6 and Thullraven. Module-buliding is a lot of fun and I learned a lot from making this one, my first module, but it is so time-consuming - I started 2 other NWN mods and 1 NWN2 mod but I doubt they will ever be finished. _________________________ Ninja School -- a short NWN training and adventure module for young players. Good Short Module. Would have liked better Henchie interaction, but I can't complain.I can't make a mod this good :)

A well made short module, it's fun to play and well worth the short download.
Thanks everyone - glad to see the download count continues to rise, if slowly. Please consider voting, since the last vote was Feb 2008. Also, check out my music submissions and vote on those too - they are mp3s so you don't have to do anything special to listen to them. _________________________ Ninja School -- a short NWN training and adventure module for young players. Sacor's problem has been resolved so don't let that discourage you from donwloading. _________________________ Ninja School -- a short NWN training and adventure module for young players. Missing Persons -- a short single-player NWN adventure for levels 4-5. My music submissions
Sacor - I have not heard of any problems like before in the almost 2 years that this module has been posted - my game version is: 1.68.8099. I have SOU and HOTU installed. All I can recommend is to make sure you are updated and maybe try downloading and playing another newly updated module that was also made with HOTU/patch 1.68 to see if it works. Or wait and see if someone else has the same problem. Feel free to e-mail me through my profile if you want to discuss further.

I uploaded V1-9. It addresses Tom's comment about the door and I also added a few more lines of conversations to 4 NPCs. Morgennes, after thinking about it for a while I decided not to "take back" any of the higher level items that the PC may acquire during the game. I think overall the module is relatively low-equipment and low gold compared to many that I have played. Maybe the story is more suited to somewhat higher level characters, but I thought lower level characters would be easier to build for since this was my first module. As always, please let me know if there are any issues. Thanks for playing and voting. _________________________ Ninja School -- a short NWN training and adventure module for young players. Thanks for the vote and comments, Tom. I will do as you suggested with the door in my next revision, which I will try to complete in the near future. Maybe I will expand or add some NPC converations as well. _________________________ Ninja School -- a short NWN training and adventure module for young players. Almost perfect little adventure. Could do with bit more lively npcs. SMALL SPOILER: It might make sense to make the cellar door in the castle plot. I blasted it apart by accident and dealt with the stuff in there before going upstairs.
Thanks for the vote and comments, Morgennes. I tried to limit the magic items and equipment in the village, but I guess there are a few relatively powerful items you find during the adventure - I hope players will think they make sense given the story. There is one in particular that I put in to help the PC near the end of the module - I suppose I could have had the owner take it back at the end but I didn't - maybe I will do that if I make another revision. Glad you enjoyed the game. _________________________ Ninja School -- a short NWN training and adventure module for young players. Nice little mod, quite well done.
The strange thing is that we have access to a lot of loot and very powerful items... But that's OK. And the story is nice.
Thanks!
I uploaded v1-7. Thanks again to herrjeff for spelling and word usage checking - I incorporated these changes as well as his recommendation to use The Krit's Cloak Converter to enable cloak colors. So please let me know if there are any problems. I think the module should work for anyone patched to 1.68 but should not require CEP or any haks. _________________________ Ninja School -- a short NWN training and adventure module for young players. Thanks herrjeff - your comments helped to improve the mod for everyone. (MINOR SPOILERS) Just between us there is no skill check or anything for that conversation. If anyone happens to do things in the order you did I wanted to make sure they could resolve the quest - I assumed the PC would figure it out even if they don't have high IN or WI. I am kind of suprised the wizard talked to you during the battle, but now the conversation should only happen if one of two things happen - either the enemy is killed or flees.
I didn't fix the typos but if you can remember about where they are I will try to find and fix them. _________________________ Ninja School -- a short NWN training and adventure module for young players. Missing Persons -- a short single-player NWN adventure for levels 4-5. My music submissions

Hi peej0000,
I checked the new dialog options for Melany and think they are fine. I wonder though if there really is an "insight" check of the PC Intelligence or Wisdom, or if it will automatically be offered under the proper circumstances.
I wasn't able to confirm if you change anything with respect to the wizard, but rely on your scripting skills to ensure that conversation can't be initiated before the battle is over.
I uploaded Version 1.6 to address herrjeff's comments about the conversation options. I tested the updated version and it seems to work fine, but please let me know right away if something is not working right. Thanks for playing and voting. _________________________ Ninja School -- a short NWN training and adventure module for young players. Interesting scenario, with a good number of sidequests. Although the battles didn't require too much strength, it might be worthwhile for planning purposes to indicate a bard/rogue henchman is available.
As El Dano mentioned, the conversation trees would need further work to avoid dialog repetitions and correct a few typos (e.g.: P_lease; K_now). One specific inconsistency occured when my PC spoke to the wizard and had a dialog option assuming the final battle was over while that enemy was attacking them! The conversation with the lost girl also need a dialog option in case the PC killed the half-orc before meeting her.

Thanks for the positive comments and vote, Terimos. I uploaded v1-5-4 on 7/24/07 in response to hmdai's and Astero's comments. I never figured out the problem with the factions and it apparently has not happened before, but I created a seperate henchman faction so I hope that will take care of it. Please let me know ASAP if you have any henchman problems or other faction problems - I hope I didn't mess any factions up by trying to fix this problem. I also fixed the multiple exp pts for the same conversation and one typo. _________________________ Ninja School -- a short NWN training and adventure module for young players. The module was bug-free as far as I could tell and the story was nice and easy to follow. The combat was well balanced and it is one of my new favorite modules.
