I also wanted to add that magic bags are rare to find/buy in this module, so this favors STRENGTH based characters who can carry lots of loot/treasure back without the need of bags.
Don't forget to eat/drink before you sleep otherwise you could wake up weakened. Spellcasters who use only spells for damage/kills will need to eat/drink far more often than a melee fighter or archer for example.

I played a L12 character to L21 in multiplayer with a friend. Great random locations and I loved the variety of optional henchmen (but didn't use any) even if they were without a story. Nice variety of merchants. I especially enjoyed 1 very difficult random battle.
I was disappointed to often find many enemies in a random area all *quickly* killed each other so you get no battle, but get tons of valuable items from tons of corpses for nothing. That happened far too often. Since items/gold were very easy to get it made the very powerful forger quickly seem far too powerful/inexpensive. Some of his forging prices seemed too cheap to be true and some off base (some better L9 spells added to items would be cheaper than lower level spells) too.
Best played with a new character or a poor (poor in item wealth & gold) character as gold to the forger will quickly make many battles too easy and your character a demi-god via uber items.

hope to see rewritten version for single player. module could use improvements like support lvl 40. almost as good as infinite dungeons but hard to do against professional game company vs little builder.

I think this is the best random generator mod I've played (not that I'm a random generator junkie or anything, but still). Pretty straightforward stuff, good for hack and slash fans, not recommended for others. I just wish the NWN combat system itself were more nuanced and complex; I've always thought that the game lent itself more towards storytelling than combat gaming simply because the game doesn't handle combat as well as it could. Still, this mod at least throws a good variety of enemies at the player, and I thought it showed off custom content well (especially important given the big download size).
Eldrin's RDG is the way to go if you want randomness that is almost nonsensical. I don't want to bash RDG or Infinite Dungeons too much, but they were great concepts that were (in my opinion) poorly executed. Eldrin's RDG was in fact the inspiration for this module, to right it's wrongs. Well, to each his own. I liked my version better, and you didn't. I never went beyond level 20 because I re-wrote the random spawn code to use LevelUpHenchman(), which works better than having levelled blueprints. The new spawning system will be featured in my new module which will be a PvP PW. More on that later. In short, MMD is a couple years old now and if I were to improve upon it, I'd re-write it entirely, and I may do that someday.
But not any time soon.

Not bad but not that great either when doing a comparison to other random dungeon generators like Eldrin's RDG, by far the best in the business of NWN RDG modules. Plus, the 20 level cap should be upgraded to support level 40. Even Infinate Dungeons supports epic levels. _________________________ Foxxy

Nice mod. Love the everything is random aspect. More mods should be like this.. tired of seeing 40 people playing on a game and all them have a hench man named George.

A fun hack and slash module, with hours of game play. There is no plot or story line, but sometimes I just want to kick butt and take names. Thank you for submitting this gem.

I usually only vote for stuff that sucks. But I felt compelled to vote a 10 on this one. It has no story-line or anything, but, damn was it fun to play. The only thing I regret is my epic FTR/WM had nothing to maul in the epic levels. Damn the level 20 cap! Still a ten!

Very nice. Had a few issues with the town portal thing though. Sometimes it wouldn't work. Copious treasure, fun battles. Everything you want from a good hack and slash!

I can't believe I'm just now getting around to voting on this one. Guess I just forgot. One of my all-time favorites.

I loved this module while I was playing it, and I just played it again last weekend. Still fun!

That big hakpack sucks, but this mod is GREAT! I recommend it to everyone.

Given what this is, it's great. When you want no plot, no roleplay, nothing but hack and slash and mondo treasure, this is a great place for a romp. No personality, nope, none. And the spawns get repetitive after a while. However, it has the best item creating forge I've ever seen, just brilly. Frankly useful for a DM who wants to buff an item on the spot without recourse to the toolset.
I have stopped development on this module. The 1.67 patch gave me way too much neat new stuff to work with. My next project will be a hack and slash module, as well. So keep an eye out for it.

This is really great, but, it'd be good if you could make it work with epic characters, too.. Me and a friend are running this on his server, and we love it, best module we've found, so far, but, we really want to be able to have epic characters, we do intend to go from level 1, and so on, but, we want to be able to continue the great adventure.
Are you able to help us add support for epic characters? It'd be much appreciated. Even if it is just in our local version, and, indeed, if we have to add the creatures for higher levels, ourselves, it'd be good to be able to play this continually... It is really a great module. Contact me, please.

I give it a ten. Reason why is couse this is a great mod to just roam around lost in and just beat the mess out over everything in site. The areas are done wonderfully. I really enjoy this mod. Thanks Mordenkainen great job.
Hello Mordenkainen.
Both Hak have the same name and the same date. Is one one them should be cep1patch152.hak (probably not but ...) ? I copied cep1patch150 to cep1patch152 to open and see the module as I could not load it from CEP.
My version of CEP is supposed to be the last one.
I will try both version of your hak.
I have dsl now but I used to have dial up about 56k,I downloaded some 100mb haks before. What I did was set it on download each night before I went to bed, took about 8-10 hours but when I woke up,Voila! just about done! This is the easiest way to do it for me back then.
Either way, what's the big deal? It's over 100 MB for the hak. You click on it and wait for it to d/l. You don't have to turn a crank or drive a team of oxen to make it happen. How lazy and/or impatient can someone possibly be?
This is a modified version of Dungeon Crawl by Ed Marshall. I'm assuming that Ed (or OBJECT_SELF, or whoever he calls himself) has given permission for this or is in fact the author, but credit should be specified and confusion avoided please.
Why thank you, Malek. The next version will feature town portal scrolls ( like in Diablo ). I've played Infinite Dungeons also, and I expected more, but oh well. I'm always open to suggestions, so I appreciate your input.
Wow! this is a really detailed and intricate hack and slash module,it even feels like a rogue-like.Very impressed so far,I have found a random portal to Valeford, however it only seems to go one way I can't go back through the portal to get to were I was so I have to do a lot of walking to get there.I would like it better if I had a recall stone to jump to town and back into the dungeon to save myself lots of time.Really gotta say this a great module, and I stopped playing bioware infinite dungeon in favor of this one.

I pounce on the opportunity to play a great nethack dungeon crawl but that 100mb dl is a bit much.
