While the beginning of this module is meant to take place somewhere in the Forgotten Realms known world, the rest of this module is set in a custom campaign with a culture that is a rough mix of Japanese, Chinese, Indian and a sprinkling of Native American.
Gameplay Length
This is a multi-session module lasting roughly 8 to 14 hours.
This is an Asian themed module intended for one to six new 1st level characters of any race or alignment. The DMFI tools are included and DM involvement is encouraged. This module uses the Personal Reputation and Reaction system (PRR) and allows characters to choose their path.
Will you be an honorable warrior protecting the innocent, a terrible force of destruction looking to bring a new dawn, a feared assassin striking from the shadows to save the world from chaos, or a destructive force of nature seeking to tear down the corrupt systems of mankind? Will you try to play all sides against each other, or will you avoid them all and seek your fate on your own terms?
Seek allies and make enemies in this free-form module that will take you deep into the Ruins of Tcheou Cherng and out to the brink of reality in search of an ancient artifact known as the Kade Stone.
Please see the readme.doc and DM's guide for more information.
Note that the music file is an optional download.

*Spoiler* I'm totally stuck finding the oni. I've criscrossed the countryside, but no luck finding anything. I'm way past the point where I could work for Yimou. Combed the whole town trying to find someone missing someone, then tried just killing every single person in the inn, but no-one left anything I'd see as a clue. Totally stuck. Help anyone?

Visually it's very good, lovely scenery and music, many henchmen, different choices to make and different paths to follow, an upgrading system for your weapon, armor, helmet, cloak, etc, reputation changes based on the allies and enemies you make, plenty of sub-quests, challenging battles, skills come in handy (persuade, bluff, intimidate, search). I didn't run into any bug, I just had a hard-time discovering a way to the Oni stronghold. Overall, I have mixed feelings about this module. Like I said, visually it was very good and I really liked the whole reputation system and how I could choose my allies and enemies or not get involved but in my opinion the story lacked in depth and the characters too.

fof an obscur reason this module is very unstable on Mac version. maybe it's a conflict betweenCEP and Mac 1.68 patch.. anyway the mac player is ejected from game when entering the four corner Inn. maybe it will be a good opportunities to update all hak with the last coming patch... _________________________ You want an intro for your mod? Thanks for the vote ericdoman! Due to some timing issues (I didn't finish until NWN2 was coming out) this probably didn't get the polish and attention to detail that I would have liked. Good to hear that you enjoyed it. Makes me think I should upgrade it to the latest stuff for nwn1. Also, you can generally hit level 12 or 13 by the end if you get everything. This requires "playing the middle" between all the factions. There's a certain order you can do thing so that you end up on neutral terms with three of them. It's tricky, but doable.

A hidden gem. I know I have used this before but this mod is excellent. Firstly it will be a vg idea to have bluff or persuade or intimidate as a skill (first 2 in particular) but only increase points on one so having cleric, paladin, monk or rogue as one of your classes very important I think. Secondly and I wish I had done this, names of places, people etc are not English (I have difficulty remembering non English names) so be prepared to write down names on paper as well as random gossip you will pick up along the way. To my knowledge there is a rogue, fighter, cleric and bard henchmen (you have the option of changing classes when levelling up). As has been mentioned there is no real dialogue between yourselves but henchman will suggest to search in some areas (well worth taking search as a skill). Combats are tough but doable some areas are very difficult until you've levelled up. I finished as a 8/1/1 clr/ftr/pal about 3,500 xp short of next level. Noticing that one player finished as an 11th lvl combo, means there's more I missed. I think you can take two henchmen, resting is OK everywhere (wandering monsters on ocassions). I believe any character class could do this mod (spellcasters ie B, S and W) will have difficulty as there are respawns in some areas. After a while you will find that you can upgrade eqpt eg 1-6 sonic dam on wpn, increase ac, -10 vs slashing etc. This is good but gold is limited so be careful on what you upgrade. Anyway loved it and thank you for this

HuMze, this is probably an issue with the CEP. I never upgraded to the latest version, so this module is essentially broken for most users. Sorry about that. I've been concentrating on NWN2, but if I get the chance I'll go back and try to fix this.

Vendalus said: "I probably won't be upgrading to CEP 2.0, so I'd rather just use the cloaks." Just so you know, CEP2 is a clean drop-in/rebuild and everything just keeps working -- except that you get the bioware cloaks afterward, if that's what you're looking for. I plan on downloading this and playing it, but haven't yet, so I can't vote yet.
