Description
Introduction:
{The Dragonarm Companions - Chapter 1}
When the once peaceful and prosperous land known as Dragoncrest came under attack by the Demon Balor and it's minions the King of good dragons Bahamut, gathered an army of allied races to combat the evil. Determined to defend their homeland, many brave folk united under Bahamut's banner. You were one of them. Assigned to Dragonarm, an advanced reconaissance unit,your mission was to sail across the Bay of Ocean Deep and scout out the enemy position.
While en route to your destination tragedy struck. A powerful, mystical storm appeared out of nowhere and battered the ship with hellish force. As the vessel broke apart an evil tide swept you and your companions far out to sea. After several hours the storm finally subsided however few were still alive. Even fewer survived the following weeks.
Clinging on to driftwood from the wreckage your strength and hope quickly dwindled. Without food and water the end seemed inevitable however it was then that some prayers must have been answered for a ship, The Herminia, appeared on the horizon.
Three days have passed since Captain Razon and his crew rescued you from the sea and you have now arrived at a small farming town called Hawkwing.

Play-tested and enjoyed muchly. The module has since been tuned up, so future players will probably enjoy it even more than me :)

Is there any way to reach the mayor? I cannot pas the gurards at the front door, so I can't find explosive powder.

Hail Scalpel34, Many thanks to you for playing my module and giving it this terrific score!!! I'm really glad to hear that you enjoyed it. May I ask if you played it with a group of friends or did you just go at it solo? If you played it on your own, please recommend it to all your friends and perhaps play it again with them! I guarantee that it is even more fun when playing it with your buddies. Thanks again! Yours sincerely, Dragonlord

AWESOME MODULE!! Great playing and really good story. It reminds me of all those times back in '79 (that's 1979 for you youngsters) of sitting at the kitchen table playing pen and paper. Good addition to the community and well worth the time invested in playing.

Hi John Thanks for quick reply. Didn't think of using pots of speed for door. Was actually thinking of having a wizard level just to swap with familiar BUT wanted to reach 7th lvl clr just to have Grt Magic Wpn. Would love to see how a party could take out the Vrocks etc especially when they summon the succubi (ruddy evards black tentacles). Although one of the probs in playing hardcore (I think) is when a wizard/sorc casts certain spells and dies because of them, no XP then eg fireball at point blank range. Couple of other possible errors. The Duergar Mage did not cast spells (thank goodness) she just attacked with dagger and was quite nasty (grt brawler belt for the wariors). I think you have made it quite clear but the graveyard. Could not turn/kill zombies or tyrantfog zombie. The scarecrows, met first one of these in "Against the Cult of the Reptile God", most recent version and an excellent mod. These were pretty tough, they seem to have a large range to daze you. Once again thanks for the mod any other future projects. Cheers Eric

Just finished and enjoyed the mod. Started playing solo as a 2/1 clr/ftr. came across a number of possible problems. Firstly finished as a 7/2 clr/ftr actually 8/2 but game finished when I tried to enter village again from east, so I could not level up. 1 Could not buy a bedroll so had to be very careful with use of spells and then return back to village inn. 2 I am not familiar with HCR? For example wanted to animate a skeleton warrior but could not as I did not have the necessary gem (found one later). 3 The graveyard. You do not receive any xp for kiling tyrantfog zombies or restless skeletons (fire) BUT you did for killing other undead. Also when I had finally reached 7th lvl used grt magic weapon to kill vrocks and glabrezu (how are you supposed to kill them anyway, when no +2 wpns until final encounter and then end of game), once again only xp for one vrock (405xp?) 4 Finding the capt? Is this really multiplay as you have one person at lever another by door and behind the door is another lever to keep door open. Also I would guess behind the door is +2 weapons? Can not open by myself. 5 The orc/goblin attacks. Are the cleric, dwarf, lieutenant everybody, expected to die? Prob as there was an infinite supply of orcs etc. It seems that when you kill the orc elite archer ("8000" xp) and grt manticore (no xp)the orcs gobs stop respawning and the bugbear chief arrives. Are you supposed to rush on ahead to kill archer and manticore? Played throughout in hardcore and found it very enjoyable as HnS possibly more enjoyable in multi-play. Once I had money to buy grt sword belt, then archer and brawl made it a lot easier. Although was still killed by elite archer with 2 critical hits! AND I was wearing grt archer belt. This leads me onto my final 2 points. 6 Summoning creatures, they would disappear in a very shot space of time 7 If you are killed in combat (Elite archer) and reload saved game you have either lost most or all of your memorized spells. Even though this was a pain I began to enjoy it. You were much more careful in combats and would only use spells vs tough opponents. Thanks for this

Hello Lilly, Though it may be possible to complete the module if you use a higher level single player character I ultimately designed it to be played as a series of multi-player sessions for a party of level 1 adventurers. You can purchase some pets to help you in combat however I did not include any henchmen. If you are feeling heroic I believe that your custom characters, Dana Grimbult and Lilly SummerBreeze could easily complete it. :) Kind regards, Dragonlord
