Since the beginning of time, the Rose Of Eternity has been in the mystical Garden Of Roses, tended to by the Keeper Of The Rose. It is said that the Keeper Of The Rose has the most beautiful singing voice, rivaled by none. She however does not sing for joy, but rather out of pain, for she is a prisoner in these gardens, forbidden to ever leave. Humanity is to blame for her misfortune, for as long as there is war and strife, she will be doomed to stay in the Garden Of Roses, and sing
As she grows older, as petals fall off of the Rose Of Eternity, she continues to sing, in the hopes that mankind will change, but, they do not. As she begins to become an old woman, people pure of heart are born into the world. These people have the opportunity to change things, but alas, they make the wrong decisions, and the Keeper Of The Rose is left to her prisonAnd her singing
As the age ends, she is born anew into the world again, hoping that mankind will change their ways. She has been going through this cycle for 4000 years. Will she ever be freed from her prison? In this life cycle, 6 unknowingly people will have the opportunity to make her wish come true.

NOTES
- This game pushes the NWN Aurora Engine to the max. For reference, I developed on the following machine:
Dell Inspiron 8600
Pentium 1.60GHz
1.25 GB of Ram
ATI MOBILITY RADEON 9600 PRO TURBO
Window XP (Home)
- The game runs smooth on this dev box at highest settings, but some older machines may have to sacrifice settings. Just a warning...
- Be sure to take a look at the ReadMe, as it contains everything you will need to know to start your adventure, including what files you will need.
- This game is a continuation of the story from "Rose Of Eternity - Chapter 1 - The Coming". If you have not played that yet, you should, so that everything in this chapter makes sense.
- This game uses all resources from Chapter 1, including the music and hakpaks. See ReadMe for more details.
- As this module was developed back in 2005/2006, it is only compatible with
CEP 1.01, CEP 1.52, and CEP 1.53.

The latest Dungeons & Dragons RPG has been released and is now available for download! Mysteries of Westgate is the first Adventure Pack for Neverwinter Nights 2, developed by Ossian Studios, creator of the popular Darkness over Daggerford mod for Neverwinter Nights. This single-player game comes with over 15 hours of non-linear gameplay, an epic story of horror and intrigue with multiple paths and endings, new creatures and tileset, as well as brand new music and voice-over. Players will explore the bustling districts of the city of Westgate, the most infamous and corrupt port city in the Forgotten Realms, and encounter the rulers of Westgate's underworld, the deadly Night Masks!
It was definitely my attention to make a game that didn't feel like NWNW, but rather, my own, and I'm glad that it came across to you like that.
As for "The Last Petal", trust me, it pains me every day that I couldn't make that game :( I only hope that my latest game can somehow fill that void...

A very well made module. Because of the custom music, separate story, tilesets and especially the combat systems it really felt like a separate RPG more than a module.
I liked the story very much. To be left in the dark of what really happens and about the past of Aramus added some mystery to it. And, most of all, I liked that the characters probably are not what they really seem. Though sometimes the ends for the more "evil" characters seem to justify any means. To bad you couldn't find the time for the third part. I would have loved to see the story of Aramus and Clopton continued.
But I'm looking forward for the sequel 20 years later in the DA:O engine.
So thank you for making this module and for sharing it with us. Wish the best, 10/10.

For anyone having the missing haks/talk table issue; download CEP 1.53 (I had to download CEP 1.52 full and then the CEP 1.53 patch), as CEP 2.0 and above is not compatible with the earlier versions of CEP, and thus won't work here.
As for the module, I just finished playing through both chapter 1 and 2, and I thoroughly loved it. The story, the characters, the mood, the mechanics, the CUTSCENES - they all joined together to form an extremely polished and memorable adventure. Thank you for this masterpiece!
Although I was originally worried because I'd read that the series was left unfinished, I was surprised by how well the story was concluded in the epilogue of chapter 2, and it didn't leave me feeling unsatisfied at all, even if I really want to know what happens next, and where the questions posed in chapter 2 will lead. This series utterly deserves the full 10 rating. _________________________ Crimson Nights Chapter 1: Link
Lol, okay, I thought I was responding to a comment you made about the first module, not the 2nd one. So disregard the bits where I say things get better in the 2nd one. You obviously didn't feel that way, but hey, can't please everyone.
Thanks for playing and offering your thoughts. With regards to your points:
--------------------------
Linearity: All I can say to this is that the next module opens up a bit. It's true that I prefer a more linear game, which obviously comes out in my design. That said, over the years (damn, this game is 7 years old now), I have learned to accept the good point of linearity.
On the downside of such a feature however is the fact that I don't think I can put as much depth into each thread of the game, so to speak, because I am only one person working on this game.
Cutscenes - These are skippable in Chapter 2, and not so evasive. I fallback to standard conversations for things, like I should have for the breakfast at the inn scene.
I am sorry to have to denigrate, clearly a lot of zeal has been put into this module: beautiful areas, a customized gameplay that sets it apart.
But it seems strange that a module so linear that you're not even supposed to make your own character, with Final Fantasy-like morality, tedious cutscenes, is considered the highest point of module creation (it's good that a good module with a JRPG flavor exists though).
The story is quite intriguing at first and but lacks all subtlety.
No rating, but I feel that a lot more creativity has been put into other modules which also try to give a lot more freedom to the player.
i'm playing now both chapters, very impressive. will vote later

Regarding the generic bugs, the chest in Adaramus' house was supposed to be locked throughout the game. As for the chest at Khal Rock, as soon as you pick your partner for the assault on Bannerman Hill, if you talk to Arik, he will talk to you about what you will face. He then hands you a key to that chest. I guess if you didn't talk to him, you wouldn't get the key. Not sure what to do about that. I guess I could have Arik try to start a convo with you right after you choose your partner. Will think a bit more on that.

Didn't think 1 could be topped, but you did it. Amazing. I called "balls" however when I found out that the adventure is basically not going to be continued. Rather moving on to a new adventure with a different story and characters. I died a little on the inside, truly.
I have sitting on my bed two games I recently purchased. Both those games are still sitting in their wrappers because I found this module that much more interesting. I wish this was being continued.
All I have to say, is amazing, truly amazing. One a few bugs to.
There are quite a few camera angle bugs, particularly the one in the volcano mountain where gramps gets apprehended. I couldn't see any of the dialogue because the camera decided to focus on my characters head. This also happened with Raina flashback, where her lover wasn't anywhere to be found in the cutscene.
Finally, i have one question. How do I make this rating thing go above ten? _________________________ Oh yeah! My computer is running SEX! *Pelvic Thrust*
Thanks for taking the time to vote. Whatever you may think, any vote at any time matters! It is motivation for the work I'm doing on the next game in the series. Thanks again!

Sorry I just remembered I never voted for this game. It may not matter now but still here is my vote.
This is a very good module you can still play this in 2010 and enjoy it more than many other games of today. One of the rare games I gave full marks. _________________________ Neverwinter Balance Patch Balance Patch

Great to see that the new installment is coming along nicely. Although i'm still a bit sad that i couldn't see the continuation of the voyage of Aramus and Clopon. So much potential... Well, i know from this module that your storytelling is most excellent, so i'm looking forward to your DA work. _________________________ "Duty is everything - the greatest of joys, the deepest of sorrows..."

To each their own, but you have to realize, the leveling in the game won't happen like it does in most standard, DnD modules. The majority of everything is custom built, so if you have had issues with playing lower level mods (whatever those issues may be), you may not run into in this series.
Interesting that you bring this up. So, the story for the next game was designed to be played with 2 separate characters who's fate intertwines, much like how I handled "The Coming". One of those characters is in fact a female. However, I cannot guarantee that I will be able to get it in.
I grok now, I guess I was tired and didn't read close enough.
I saw the telporter before of course. I went down said WTH, went up, and looked for different ways down, tried the different teleporters on level 2... Went down... same place, went back up... Eventually resorted to console jump command to get to main. Finished main got to level 4 fine, but level three never got cleared from journal.
I remember playing the first chapter of your excellent module sometime back. So I have just downloaded chapter 2 now and thought I would give it a try.
I have a question, if you are are ever around to answer it for me.
Just because I felt like it, I decided to watch the ending video for chapter 2, even before I have started playing. (yes, I know. Maybe I should have saved it for the end... but nevermind. I couldn't help myself. :p)
There's some really beautiful artwork at the end there e.t.c. All excellent stuff indeed! Many kudos to you and everyone else for putting it all together! :-)
Okay, here's my question.
Right at the end, I was pleasantly surprised to read : "Rose Of Eternity - The Last Petal" Coming soon.
Has anything of that been started on yet, and are/will you still be using NwN 1 for it, or is it to be written using NwN 2 instead?
I own a copy of NwN 2, as I played Bioware's official games, "Mask Of The Betrayer" and "Storm Of Zehir."
But I do not have NwN 2 installed on my PC at the moment, and I'm unsure about having to install it just to play 1 chapter of the "Rose Of Eternity" series. (i.e. the the last chapter) It feels quite pointless to me right now. But I don't know. I'll see how chapter 2 goes for me, and then see how I feel about having to play the last chapter (chapter 3 : The Last Petal) when I have finished. That's only under the assumption that you HAVE... planned chapter 3 in NwN 2 though.
Dungeon of Summons. I came back to try floor three. But when I teleport down. It is into a small room with no doors and all I can do is teleport back out.
