Calimshan has a long history, which had begun centuries before the mighty Netheril appeared. The oldest of the Empires of the Sands it had never achieved the magical power equal to the Nethereze, but instead shaped the history of the southern lands with its numerous armies.
Naturally, the Calim Desert has its own bandits, called the Raiders. They pursue trading caravans as well as single travelers. Surprisingly enough they don't slain all their victims. Those who are wise enough not to hide their valuables and who hasn't killed too many attackers usually remain alive. Of course, there are bands that traditionally leave no man standing. These are the Black Raiders, they are rather few in numbers and not always accepted even among their own kind, but that doesn't concern them much.
In addition to pillaging the Desert Raiders revel in kidnapping. But once the ransom is paid, returning the hostage safe and sound is a question of honor. If the Black Raiders break that unwritten law, they are persecuted by all the remaining bands until they are destroyed to the very last man.
Tannem is a small town that once had a population between five and seven thousand. It cannot be found on most of the maps, because it sort of changed its sites due to lots of landslides destroying it time after time. This is where our story takes place.
The mysterious ruins of Monrativi Teshy Mir (also known as First Kingdom of Mir) are situated nearby. Adventures and travelers keep coming here in search of treasure and rare artifacts. But the true goal that lures most of such treasure-hunters here is the ancient book of the Djinni, the founders of Calimshan. With its power they dream to fulfill their secret ambitious plans. It should be hidden within the remains of an ancient temple near Tannem. So, what desires will command the will of a stranger in these lands? Blood-thirst? The many charms of wondrous pretty Alishan The drive to earn the trust of the Black Raiders or to gain favor with a rascal Methan Or maybe he'd be able to forgive and even in some way understand Ubo-Satlo?
Which of the treasure-seeking bands gets the most valuable book? What events will lead to this? Is there a way more honorable and true than that of the scimitar in your hands? What does it mean to make the right choice? The ways of these people are not the ones you are used to. Is it acceptable for a true paladin to save innocent lives by telling a lie?
It's not easy to understand the people of this land. The motives behind their actions are always concealed and may vary from complicated intrigues to helping you out of consciousness of guilt. They may restrain from accusations of murder if the victim happens to be their mortal enemy, in fact you may even earn their sincere gratitude by slaying him. But they may just as well decide that if a strange newcomer to these lands is swept into the vortex of deathly dangerous events that does not concern them at all...
At the very beginning of the story you will become involved in a strange chain of events. You can't resist something powerful that draws you into it. And it's only for you to decide if you accept your destiny, or try to find a way out, or just watch the events and let them happen. And, who knows if the strange adventure you're involved in is your last chance to try and do something you've never been able to do or have never dared to. So, one of the days alike many others, it happened to you...

I am willing to help translate from Russian to English. It might not be totally on target but it would be good practice for me in learning a new language or at least at helping the entire community see what a nice looking mod this is.

the x2_*.hak are all missing.
I am french. Whatever I am configuring the computer (Russian, english or french),the texts in the in the setup.exe execution are replaced by what you can see when I try to use the russian keyboard or by ????? in my previous post.

In Russia if want to play in english module, that translates his russian players-fans. We have a professionals-translators, but him uninteresting this. That to see this module in english, it is necessary that english players-fans has wanted to translate him..., but they too passive :)
Aw, man...Doesn't anyone want to take up the project? Or, alternatively, does anyone have a summary, or a rough draft of the english script? I read english well, but not russian; Maybe I could help to correct it...

we are working in this direction. As soon as it is done, we report about it. Or if the translation is cancelled (nobody wants translate), we also report.
I'm still trying to download it, is there a reason it isn't on the Vault site? I'm stuck at about 1.4k a second download speed.
Looks awesome, I'll comment once I've seen it myself.

Odinnspear, the translation of the module is going to be started. If you (or anyone else) want to take part in it's testing, give your e-mail :)
PS: but it should be noticed, that translation is rather hard and long work. First beta-version for testing won't be earlier this summer (at list), i think.

On this site the russian language much is bad show. Some letters look as errors of the code HTML. Who will want to play in it in russian language, without problems will find our site in russian search system.

THis is the first module in months that looks like it's worth downloading and it's all in russian. Great. Why is the description in English if the mod is in russian?
