Since Crimson Nights is heavily combat oriented, Fighters and Barbarians do good. It is definitely possible with spellcaster classes too, since summons have been slightly improved to even out things. Could proove slightly more difficult in some places for spellcasters, though. Bards and Rogues are NOT recommended.

Description
Crimson Nights is the first chapter in an epic adventure where the hero, a promising young adventurer, gets thrown into an epic quest to save the world from a new enemy previously considered completely harmless. An ancient evil awakens - and it's out for vengeance. It is up to you to save humanity and vanquish the greatest foe you will ever face...
"About a week ago a letter was sent to your house in Feinas, your home town, by an anonymous person. It said that there is a man in the small village of Monsu who is very ill. A horrible, unknown cancer resides within his heart, and the one who sent the letter asked for your help to cure the man. You cannot, however, understand why this person wants YOUR help, you are but a simple adventurer. But since you are always looking for a great heroic quest, why should you decline this offer? It is a great deed saving an ill man from the cold clutches of death. Thus, you answer the call for help, and a week later you arrive in the small, quiet village of Monsu..."

Ko Bo, lil' help here? I can't load your module because the talk file is apparently missing. Which is way weird, because I extracted the movie and the mod file EXACTLY WHERE THEY"RE SUPPOSED TO GO.

Will be waiting for chapter 2 Ko Bo, don't let me down grrrrrrrrr.... >=). Nah just kidding. Great work is worth the wait. Take your time. Besides it gives me something to look forward to. =)
Thanks a lot for the kind words and the feedback. As for Chapter 2, although its well in the works and there is playable material, I am currently kept pretty busy with RL stuff as well as NWN multiplayer gaming, actually. Im hoping that Ill be able to finally sit down and start working like mad in the toolset again this summer. I definitely havent forgotten about these two modules, and I fully intend to finish the entire storyline. Hopefully that will happen sooner rather than later =)
Hang in there, honourable slayer of chickens! ;D
SPOILER RESPONSE:
-----------------
As you may have noticed, in Crimson Nights there are quite a few secrets; both small and big ones, that can be tricky to discover during a play-through. As for the doors in the hallways to the side of the entrance in the Temple those doors are never meant to be unlocked. In fact, I originally had plans for the temple to be a mobile building, and those doors would lead to the control rooms for the respective feet of the giant walker-building that is the temple. Well, those were some of my demented concept ideas, but I never elaborated on the idea. Nonetheless to answer your question no, they cant be opened. _________________________ Crimson Nights Chapter 1: Link

I must say this is one of the best modules i played, seriously. Its fun, hilarious. Ko Bo great job =). I cant wait for the second chapter. Ko Bo you should keep on making modules, i was hooked from the start with this one :). By any chance do you know when part two will come out?
!*SPOILERS*!
-------------
Evil strategic chickens rofl... pure genius. It's so funny. So funny in fact, it made my day =).
ohh i dont remember where exactly, but in the bottom area of were you fight the supreme chicken there are two doors i cant seem to open. Is there a trick to them? I searched forever and could not, for my life, find any keys that would open those two doors. I don't remember exactly but I believe its the first area in the evil (chicken?) temple. In case your wondering what area the doors are located in.
Thanks. To comment on your... err... comment =D - the quests that are not possible to complete, ie the highroad, is because there's no way to open the highroad in this module, so you should consider the journal update more like flavour text, explaining why you can't just go home to Feinas after you've saved the old man. Although the "scene change" is a somewhat bad design choice on my part, at the time I had little options for some areas that needed to be "reconstructed" differently, as an example the crumbling temple. In Chapter 2 I intend to keep the scene changes to a minimum, if any at all. I appreciate the vote and feedback, I only wish more people would take the 5 minutes to vote for modules played, as it does have impact upon the builder. Again, thanks alot and I'm glad you enjoyed it. _________________________ Crimson Nights Chapter 1: Link

This is a very nice module. There were some problems I encountered and some quests I couldn't complete, such as Highroad. When scenes change, mostly after a major conflict, either the one can not find the exit quickly (not highlighted) or get disoriented because an explored area becomes anew. i.e. Temple destruction, dark forest or Ant hole escape. These areas can never be re-explored if you left something or someone behind. (Lost henchmen twice but was able to recover with reload from a save.) ...such is life in another galaxy, I guess... ;)
In all, this a very good module, as mentioned. There is a lot of nice details in the design and layout. I hope the author can continue with a concluding module. Thank you Ko Bo. _________________________ MrMadmacs
It should, because now there's no way in the nine hells that you can get stuck anymore, even if the witch mysteriously pops into hostile mode! =D _________________________ Crimson Nights Chapter 1: Link
so, disreguard my last comment for the moment. I just realized that, while I thought I had downloaded post-udpate, I hadn't... So I'm going to go ahead and do that first, and hopefully it'll work out :-)
I got it to work :-) for whatever reason, when I threw the bomb down the vent and the firestorm like effect occured, it knocked me down and exited the conversation. After a few tries I managed to avoid it, and it worked just like it's supposed to :-)
Unfortunately, I'm stuck again :-( Same problem with the witch. I have not attacked any of her apparations, haven't attacked any NPC's all game... I've just been a good little boy following orders, but when I get up to the witch she's already hostile and impossible to damage :( and now I can't get out... Any ideas on what to do?
Also, I'm sincerely enjoying it thus far, thank you!
Okay so check it out: As you drop the bomb down the vent, and as the "conversation" with the vent ends, you are taken to the "chaotic" version of the temple as it's falling apart. You'll notice this as there's a change in areas and everything around you starts burning, debris laying about etc. From here - walk south back to the entrance, and you'll find the entrance door and an area transition by it. I'm thinking you didn't actually finish the conv with the vent where you dropped the bomb. Finish the conv and you'll have no further problems with it. Hope that helps =) _________________________ Crimson Nights Chapter 1: Link
Ah but you see the door back out isn't locked. Just go back the way you came in and that will do it for you. Only the doors leading further down into the temple are locked at this point. _________________________ Crimson Nights Chapter 1: Link
I'm in the temple and I just tossed the explosives down the hot air vent, and I get knocked down/burnt and the dialogue tells me to get out of there, but all the doors are locked! And I've waited in the temple for about 5 minutes, thinking it'd go up in flames and kill me, but no explosion... how do I get out?!
The update is now uploaded, so check the changelog in the ReadMe for notes on this (changelog contains potential spoilers FYI). I'd also like to take the opportunity to announce that after a year of NWN stagnancy I'm back into building and work has resumed on Crimson Nights: Evil Unleashed. I'm striving to have it released before the summer holidays are over. _________________________ Crimson Nights Chapter 1: Link
Sorry about the delay. I looked it up and nope, the witch's factions are intact - which leads me to believe you've been on a neutral npc killing spree, although I'm pretty certain she has her very own faction, which leads me to believe either some horrifying untrackable error has occured or... well... I'm not sure. Anyway, I realize the whole area swap was probably a bad design choice so I might just re-do that and release an update first thing tomorrow. That should forever eliminate any chance of the windmill becoming a permanent inescapable area. I've never heard of the witch turning hostile for no reason though, and since she's marked as a "plot" creature, that should only be possible by a faction change elsewhere. I'm not sure about this, but I will edit the windmill. Sorry for the inconveniences. _________________________ Crimson Nights Chapter 1: Link
I'm also in a tight spot with the witch! As i arrive on the first floor of the windmill, the witch is already hostile towards me, and the "mass heals" don't do any damage to her...So i'm pretty much stuck, because the door is locked... HELP ME! ;)
Hmm just to clarify: did you actually attack her when she was "neutral" to you? You are supposed to talk to her *before* you do anything hasty like attack. That will take you to the "real" battle. Hope that helps. _________________________ Crimson Nights Chapter 1: Link
I had a problem with the witch too. The first time she actually talked to me, but I didn't know I could use the mass heal, so I started over with a stronger character. This second time however, the witch just started to attack me. I tried the mass heal, didn't work. I actually attacked the witch earlier in the haunted house, so I don't know if that messed things up. So at this point, I can't finish it, but it was fun playing it. Any suggestions?
sorry about the delay, but I haven't heard anyone say this before. The witch is kind of easy? =/ Anyway, if you see no other solution, use one of your "Essence of Life" bottles on the undead horde and the mass heal will destroy them. You should have one of those items. Hope that helps, if not, let me know. _________________________ Crimson Nights Chapter 1: Link

I guess the little-bit-of-everything adventure intentional. You make lots of good points and ideas, perhaps I'll sit down and make a new version of the module soon. _________________________ Crimson Nights Chapter 1: Link

I've just finished the module and here's what I think :) :
*Spoilers*
The intro movie showing the chicken was a surprise! You see, I wasn't sure what to expect but the module captured my interest early on. But if someone asked me to identify it, I wouldn't know what to say. It was a little bit of everything: humorous/parody with an epic seriousness and some horror elements along the way. I don't know what was your intention but for me it wasn't clear all of the time.
The town was small but I liked it. It had what was really necessary for this module. Although, I missed a little more interaction with the npcs. I would have liked to get to know them better, that goes especially for the henchman. Also, I couldn't find the house easily. Maybe a map pin after Anna gave it to me, would had been nice. I also liked the fact that I could make potions, items and ride a horse :). A tiny problem when I was resting though, after every rest I was losing the increased movement that the horse was giving to me. Also, I know that the herbs are needed for brewing potions but it would had been better if we could sell them. Although I was really enjoying making potions , towards the end I grew a bit tired and I had collected a lot of ingredients but I couldn't sell them to the shops. I stored them in my house. I really liked all the customized items and the various monsters. Combat was challenging but sometimes difficult. My char was a fighter so I can only imagine what it would be like for a spellcaster, although you specify that it would be easier with a combat oriented class. Boosting your character is really important in this module.
I had a little difficulty getting out of the temple after I placed the explosives. I died 2 or 3 times before I managed to escape. A speed potion helped me a lot there. In the quest with the werewolf and the werebear, after I killed one of the two, the quest was completed although I didn't kill both of them. I still had to kill the werebear. As for the quest to get the help from a flying creature, I did it and the help came but the quest itself, stayed unfinished. Also, in battle, my henchwoman was sometimes just standing there, doing nothing, although I commanded her several times to attack.
*End Spoilers*
Overall, although confused as to what was really your intention, I liked it. I had a good time :). I will definitely play chapter 2.
Thank you! Not quite sure yetabout the name, but as of now it's named "Evil Unleashed". It is still uncertain whether I'll keep that name in the finished module or change it to something else. We shall see once it's released =D _________________________ Crimson Nights Chapter 1: Link

Good Module ^^ any idea what chapter 2 is going to be called?
Hehehehe... why, actually, did you know the author of Echoes is my brother? Anyway, to answer your question, I made sure that every little arrow/dart I fired counted. I utilized extreme tactics to win the battles with less hp loss. I also picked skillpoints in hide and move silently to sneak past the heap of enemies in the Scarecrow fields. Even so, I think I killed every enemy in the module except around 4. Basically, I used every bit of my gaming skills to conquer the module and amaze my brother =D (P.S - I didn't think it was THAT impossible, just very challenging, and at times I had to load more than once in a single battle.) _________________________ Crimson Nights Chapter 1: Link

The comment was meant for another mod which leads me onto how did you complete this Echoes with a 1st lvl barb?

Whoops sorry about that see original comment.

No I did not like it. Somehow my previous comment has been erased and I did not vote 9.25.
This is a ridiculously hard module to the point of I would not play this.
Facing various very difficult to impossible creatures was not my cup of tea at low levels.
I believe this is my lowest vote ever, even though I hadn't finished mod and I am normally quite generous but due to tampering not amused.
I'm glad you liked it. Chapter 2 is currently under construction (although I'm atm stuck on a cutscene =D) I'll be sure to complete it ASAP. Thanks alot! _________________________ Crimson Nights Chapter 1: Link

Again this is predominantly HnS and my rating would have been higher if there was more interaction between player and NPCs especially the henchperson.
Boss combats are tough but that can be expected. Not sure if spellcasters (sorc, wiz, bard, druid) will do OK. Many areas allow you to rest but final confrontations are very hard.
The first adventure is VG and different
Started as a 1st lvl fighter, then realised element protection is very important so finished as a 2/9 ftr/clr about 4000xp short of next level.
The henchperson does not level up (3ftr/3assassin but strange feats)and her AI is not very good but you can swap weapons around in combat and she uses them.
Minor spoilers, before you head up north pay for stables and use horse, although when you rest the horses movement decreases.
Save often
Purchase various elemental and magic protection.
There are a lot of customized magical items in this game and some new creature models as well as known creatures but with different attacks etc.
As I did not have UMD skill not sure if rogue or bard could use scrolls with no die roll as I intend to give it a try with a rg/druid/ftr combo
Ko Bo also replied very quickly this is a huge plus for me
