Amaryuus power spans the world, and Seiji and company strive against it. They will purge the agents of Amaryuu in a righteous storm of vengeance, first through Ortzenhelm, then Sigmar, and then return to the Brass Empire and the lost Hall of Ages. The heroes traverse the globe to put a stop to Amaryuus ambition. But for what? How can mortals contend against such a monster? After such striving and blood and loss, what is the horrible secret of their quest? Despite all, Amaryuu is still alive, and his machinations still work evil upon the world. In the Hall of Ages, Azura will learn the grim truth of her existence and the one hope to stop Amaryuus mad ambition.

Disclaimer
Vis et Virtus is not a normal Neverwinter Nights module, nor is it intended to be. It is, by design, a mostly linear adventure with a heavy emphasis on story and character development. It was designed to be a fusion of game genres combining elements from traditional Japanese console RPG games like Final Fantasy, with computer RPGs like NWN, along with devices that are unique to VeV.
If you are looking for a game that uses a non-linear approach with lots of dialogue options through which you can create a character of your choosing, featuring standard NWN systems, I encourage you to look elsewhere. There are plenty of excellent games out there that do an excellent job of this. I would also encourage you to look elsewhere if you don't have the time to allow the story and characters to develop. Like a great novel, the story gets better as it goes, and many questions remain unanswered until later in the series. In the beginning, you will not know the full history of each of the characters nor have a full understanding of their motivations, but over the course of the game these elements will become apparent. Finally, in order to add to the depth of the characters, Vis et Virtus uses pregenerated characters. If you are uninterested in games involving pregenerated characters, please do not waste your time downloading VeV.
If, on the other hand, you are looking for a game with a truly epic story, strategic battles, engaging party members, unique systems and stunning custom content that make you feel like you're playing an entirely different game, you will enjoy Vis et Virtus.
If you are still uncertain as to whether Vis et Virtus is the sort of gaming experience you like, I encourage you to read our reviews. QSW and the Vault Review Team have written excellent, detailed reviews of the last three chapters of VeV which will likely give you a good idea of what to expect. You can find them at Link, Link, and Link.

Since the website has had a lot of downtime lately due to the server, I've decided to use a different host. The new Vis et Virtus website can be found at the link above.
Version 4.0 of Chapter 7 is finally up for download. Please report any bugs or errors you find to [email protected]

I would just like to reiterate my vote of 5.0.
This module consists of illegiable monologues (you can't call the conversaions dialogues in this module, really), much story incostency (and I have followed the story since Prologue). Not nearly good enough plot or storyline: this is the problem of the whole series. The music isn't really for everyone's taste, but pretty nice, however that outright bad execution at times hinders the experience; perhaps it's the bugs that plague the whole series this module notwithstanding as it's pretty much a good module in a suckish series. You need to just go as far as the rest of Hall of Fame modules to see how deeply flawed this 'jewel' is. The obviously shill reviews with perfect votes you can rest assured this is not something you want to play, unless you are in a mood for a mod review (and can afford being banned for it).

Bad, bad, bad -- steer clear of it. Hate sounding like those same ten shills who keep voting 10.0 on every module in this series, but I've already posted my thoughts on the pages for chapter 1 and 2. _________________________ Do dance with the rogues.

Better than the previous chapters. More epic feel as everything goes badly all over the map.

Too much unnecessary violence.
Why did we fight Jimmy Bannister out in the snow.
The Master was too hard. Never defeated him. Just ran to the SW to the next scene.
Didn't like the way the chapter ended.
Thanks though. _________________________ Steve's Characters - please don't forget to vote on them if you play them.

Judging by your description, I'm guessing you're in the Royal Chambers. The trick here is that there's actually a 3rd door between the two that teleport you back to the start that's hidden. So go into search mode and equip anything you have to boost your search checks and you'll find it.

Okay I made it to the vault room, but the two doors send me back to the beginning. Is there a trick here? _________________________ Steve's Characters - please don't forget to vote on them if you play them.

Okay, what am I looking for to put on the right portal pedestals? _________________________ Steve's Characters - please don't forget to vote on them if you play them.

Your question is rather unclear. Since you're asking about the "left portal", I'm going to assume you're at the entrance. To go through the left portal, you must activate it by going through the right portal and completing a puzzle or two. If you meant story-wise or if you are elsewhere, shoot me an email and I'll be happy to direct you further.

What do I need to do in the Hall of Ages?
I presume it's getting the left portal active, but how do I do that? _________________________ Steve's Characters - please don't forget to vote on them if you play them.

There are a couple paths on this map that are dead ends. The catapaults are one of them. Ignore the catapaults and, from the entrance, go east until you find a hole. Climb through the hole to get to the mirror. Then you use the mirror to get to the staircase.

Stuck in the cave past the Hall of Ages- I see the catapults and the mirror, but cannot access the mirror because it is blocked off. _________________________ Steve's Characters - please don't forget to vote on them if you play them.

Epic story, battles, and gameplay. Very satisfied with the product.
Ok, now I feel silly :-) But in my defense, I hadn't gone over to the left side portal yet to know that it didn't work. I will be heading that way shortly however.....
The portal that was activated was back in the front entrance. In the first Hall of Ages map, the path split left and right. To the left was an unactivated portal that is now active. The puzzles to the right activate that teleport. So, just go back on map to the Front Entrance and take the west path.
I appear to be stuck in the Hall of Ages. All 3 spheres are in the pedestals, and I get the message that the portal is activated, but there's no portal. Is it supposed to be at the statue betweent the pedestals, because that's not working. Is it somewhere else I haven't looked? What workaround is there if the portal doesn't show up?

A few other tidbits:
- Using the Sutra of Iron makes enemies ignore you. In the fight against Batlar, this makes taking out the mages extremely easy.
- During the dream sequence, I got the Dobak and spear when the fight began, not when it ended.
- Some Hobgoblins try to polymorph using a spell, but it somehow doesn't work. They're just standing there, wasting their actions.
- The sequence with the master was great, though on the first try the critical comment ("Stun him") was drowned in all the attacks and damage outputs. I don't see how this could be changed, though... _________________________ One feels inclined to say that the idea that man should be "happy" is not included in the plan of "creation". - Sigmund Freud

Well thought-out characters with loads of hilarious dialogues blended in with nicely-balanced fights (a rarity on character level 39) and tons of custom stuff.
These plusses haven't changed during the versions. Getting the rest of the background was great, especially with this great a background involved. Watching the group's abilities enhance each other during the infiltration was a nice touch, too.
The fight against the oracle was ulra-hard and required multiple reloads, though that could be my mistake - the group doesn't seem to be as well equipped this time. _________________________ One feels inclined to say that the idea that man should be "happy" is not included in the plan of "creation". - Sigmund Freud

In the Hall of Ages, I opened the pedestrals without the spheres. After that (or when I got back to the map, I don't know), the pedestrals vanished! This made it kinda hard to get further.
I was able to fix this using
dm_setvarint leftHOAopen 1
after looking at the toolset. But this issue probably warrants a look. _________________________ One feels inclined to say that the idea that man should be "happy" is not included in the plan of "creation". - Sigmund Freud

If the inventory of a henchperson is full, they sometimes lose their equipped items. I don't know the circumstances, probably after they're downed/dead/a cutscene happens.
I lost the Swords of the Empire this way right after I got them, and I can't find them. Do you know the console command to spawn the item? giveitem, dm_giveitem, dm_giveItem and GiveItem SwordOfEmeperorStigmund didn't work. _________________________ One feels inclined to say that the idea that man should be "happy" is not included in the plan of "creation". - Sigmund Freud

Great module.
I re-loaded back and I managed to do the last CoC encounter without the master's bug, for some reason.
The game still crashes when I rest, during the dream with a very fast click I selected the conversation line and the game began loading something, then it crashed again. It's something about southtigerseiji, according to the toolset. Who knows.
I'm keeping a savegame of this chapter to enjoy that part, if it will be fixed, but now onward to chapter VIII!
