I played in this PW a long time ago, it wasn't for long (too many outside commitments at the time. The players I met were top notch, but what most impressed (and terrified!) me was the level of difficulty and downright frightening and kick *coughs* critters I came across. They were smart! I would have liked to play there again, and now I can (offline) as and when time permits. Thank you for sharing your hard work with us Ariel; I really hope you reconsider and host this quality PW again ;)
All the best to you in whatever you decide to do next. _________________________ QSW -NWVault Reviewers Forum

Wow. This is fantastic stuff, if not to run as a module itself, to draw areas from. Thank you very much. Some sort of rough documentation would be helpful for most people. None the less, great work. Hope things work out for you.

Great work Ariel my friend, got my vote _________________________ Its really none of your bloody business
Thank you for those kind words, my players are trying to convince me to put it back online now. I know the reasons I took it down were sound, but perhaps this wasn't the rigt way to express them. I am reconsidering.

Really nice work people...a real shame you stopped hosting it though. Well I hope you all make another one and enjoy it as much as you enjoyed this one. Let us all know if you plan to make another and when it comes out.
I thank you for all your hard work in putting this together and for those whose work is included in this module and for you all allowing us to have the module. - thanks! _________________________ Imtherealthing
Or, you could set up NWNX and run it as a server, then run the NWN client and connect to it, all on your own machine. Depends on how difficult you might find it to set up NWNX... I got it working on my machine, but I'm an intermediate Windows user.
It does work offline, but much of the functions will be missing as you won't be using a databese. Some things such as banking use the bioware default database, that would continue to work, but locations and player states, time tracking, all of that would not. _________________________ /Ariel

Always loved playing there in the past, but i do have a question as ive just been laid off from my work, and soon enough will be loseing internet, can the module work properly offline?
Feel free to do or use this module in whatever way you like, there are nor restrictions. It is a compilation of many authors work and code, not the least of which was HCR and DMFI as a start all those years ago. This module has been online and active with many players for 4+ years.
I would like to thank Brian Kittrel for his lovely banking system, and Calan for his horse scripts. Other people who have contributed to making The Badlands what it was include Halper, Axeom, AbesQnneCharlie, Raven, Race, Sylvan, Stratovarius, Trekari, Mario (love the minos),Horn Twotak, Mostly, the CEP team, those crazy folks at Avlis for nwnx2 and Neshke for NESS, Thanks for allowing me to use your stuff, without it this couldn't have been done by me. Enjoy
One last tidbit, there is one area missing, this resulted from the removal of some tileset haks and I had yet to rebuold that area. If anyone needs help with what was there, or wants to know how it connected, please ask me and I'll help if I can. _________________________ /Ariel
