This module is my attempt to capture the light-hearted fun of Mystara, the world of basic D&D. It is a sandbox game - one were you can explore the various regions, talk to NPCs and play through quests of varying length, complexity and challenge.
This is my third draft it has ten quests, eight henchmen and about eight thousand words of dialog. I have implemented three D&D modules B1, B2 and X8 and parts of the Grand Duchy of Karameikos and Glantri City.
If you get stuck, or wonder what else there is to do, please read the detailed walk through guide.
Please post any questions or comments you have here - I appreciate any and all feedback.
hi, good to see you're tweaking your excellent mod :) Am I correct in that the addition of X8 is the 'regional' addition to your Mod compared to version 1?
Personally I'd 'open up' more of the houses/locations in the already existing parts iso adding extra ones but that's just me.

When I download the file, I get an archive with a module and a hak that is only about 1 MB and an "Unexpected end of archive" error. I can't unzip it. _________________________ Endorsed by the Great Wazoo of Acron.
I have updated this to a "third draft". This is a minor update - I tweaked a few things and added one more quest to the Threshold area.
I'm still working on that Five Shires campaign I mentioned - it may be a while before I get the plots into a state worth implementing.
As of this posting, the updated module isn't the one available for download - I gather a manual approval step is required before content appears on the public pages.
I'm sorry, BtaraKtahn, but I can't replicate this. The conversation is supposed to use your character's first name, and this properly works for me when I test the conversation. Does your character have a first name, or just a last name?
I found a problem with Baron Sherlane Harlara (sp?)...
It seems that when you accept his mission to explore the caves south of Threshold, he addresses your character by your login name rather than the name of the character you are playing.
This is not a problem to the unoriginal folks whom always make the same character using the exact same name that they log in with, but it's pretty annoying to the rest of us whom make new characters for each server we visit or module we play. _________________________ Don't ask me what I think of you,

On the gold thing, I think you probably had it right, as I am particularly greedy and trudged several trips to redeem at least 3 *armouries*, without which I would have been down to 100k, which is a pretty reasonable finish, IMHO.
Cheers,
Thanks for posting - it is very nice to hear back from people who took the time to play my module.
The boots of haste are there to make the travel times tolerable, and the +1 weapon is to avoid the nuisance of damage-resistant undead in Threshold's crypts. For the same reason, you can find the relatively rare katana +1 and dwarf axe +1 in the crypts in case you chose the NPCs that specialize in those weapons. I don't like too many boosts at the beginning, but I try to give a few to avoid tedious or nuisance aspects of the module.
People who played the first draft commented that they ended up with millions of gold and nothing to spend it on. I'm glad I've got the margin down to merely hundreds of thousands, but clearly I have work to do. :)
I am struggling to find a way to tweak the island tribal fights to be well-balanced - I've gone from too hard to too easy, it seems. I'll keep trying.
I'm glad you found my Chuck Norris easter egg - I put one in every module I've written, but thus far no one has found (or at least commented) on them. I don't think I've made it to 20th level Chuck yet, well done getting to level 21!
I will certainly be adding more content as time allows. Next up is a part of the Five Shires (halflings) and probably the Mystara equivalent of the Forgotten Realms' Undermountain.
cheers,
Andrew

Excellent work!
I really enjoyed this.
Liked the teleporting opportunities. Very tidy. With all those locked doors and interesting buildings boasting of largesse I can see there is a lot of room for more plots, quests & dialogue, and I encourage you to add more please, for the sake of my own selfish desires. I can't remember when I looted so much stuff. Good that there were things to spend the spoils of pilfery on. Pretty sure there wasn't a chest left that I hadn't emptied, despite several trips to my *mate* at Castellan.
I still ended up with about 400k in gold in the end, after buying up anything good for myself or my sticky-fingered henchperson.
Combat was a good challenge in some spots for my 6/3 F/WM (as he ended up). Nice variety of NPCs to choose from. Dialogue is short and sweet in most convos.
Bless your crops for not making the secret doors hard to find.
I sense another draft, not to fix, but to add. Will keep one eye open for this. Bravo.
***Small Spoilers*** I could open the Parliament doors.
Other combats (on the island and the chaps underground) were perhaps a little too easy. This in contrast to the gelatinous cubes who were quite a challenge to overcome, but the old divide and conquer saw me through after a reload. Not so with the water elementals back at the Port. I gave up on that battle. Too instant.
Nice job with the bags of holding.
As much as a I have a fixation with getting boots of speed as soon as possible in any game, I was a little surprised at getting them so soon, as well as a +1 sword. Not a complaint, just a thought. Perhaps that smithy might have paid me with them for some boon.
Shame on your Chuck Norrisisms. :) At #21 I gracefully retreated. Was only 4th level, so must go back as a 6/3 to see how far they go.
