I apologize for taking so long to get this module fixed, but I have been away from NWN for a while. Currently, the gold and xp for parties should be fixed. I am still working on fixing the issue of quests only being given to the speaker, and not the party.
This module has the same problem as the previous one, for multiplayer. By setting local variables on the individual characters, the necessary flags aren't always present for scripts to fire correctly.
*SPOILERS*
As an example, if the character who takes the Spirit of Blackwind River quest isn't the same one who gets the killing blow on the toxic spirit, the quest reward cannot be issued. Same on the lost tomb quest. The character who takes the quest must also be the one to destroy the statue.
Either use SetLocalInt(GetModule(), key, value) or use the SetLocalIntOnAll() function to set the variables for the whole party.
Until these coding changes are made, it's really only stable for single player.

What made the first two so good was missing in this one. Starting in the fort and then backtracking to town to do optional quests that had nothing to do with the main mission shattered the coherency. Good main plot though.
Yes, I do have a couple of secret doors in the crypts. With time and patience, even someone with a low search score can still find them.
As to the cemetary guard, I thought I had fixed that bug. Thank you for letting me know it is still there.

got it, finished everything in the lower crypt, i think. there seems to be an area between the two sides of the lower crypt area that i could not find any access to. is there another room & how do i get there? in any case i destroyed the portal and did all of the optional quests back in blackwind. great mod all the way but i did find one bug in the second lost temple quest. after talking to the guard and cleaning out the second infestation and talking to him again to end and getting the reward if you talk to him again he starts his conversation over again and you get the xp reward again for as long as you keep restarting the conversation.
If you are referring to the statue with one empty eye socket, the key is somewhere in that dungeon, but it doesn't look like a key. Check in one of the southern doors.

great mod, well balanced & plenty of action.
i have a question though in ruins of paran-inner crypt i can't get through the door by the statue because it requires a special key, where is the key because i have been unable to locate it.........
The mirror and luminary are currently set to be indestructable, but that will be fixed when I update next.
The Fort Store has a couple of items in the miscellaneous items section that would be a big help with the portal. Just check carefully. They're along the lines of what was made available for dealing with the siege equipment in Chapter Two.
Enjoyed this module as well as the first two, good flow I thought, and the maggots were an interesting twist I hadn't seen before.
Have not been able to destroy the portal, mirror, or luminary. Restarted from an old save and visited the fort's stores but didn't see anything the seemed like a deal breaker there. Do you mean I need to have acquired items at stores elsewhere?
Lieing to him is just one option. The key to the trapdoor is in his house someplace. You just need to look for it.

Hi Grymmly!
Just finishing up part3 with the in-town quests. I -think- I may have found a small bug, but ***Spoiler Alert*** follows just in case...

The miller asked me to check his basement for ghosts, but when I go to his house I cannot open the trap door - it says I need a key. When I go back to him all he asks is if I did or not, and one of the conversation options is to actually lie! Is this by design -- do I need to fool him on purpose for a few EXP or is there really a key somewhere and how do I get it?
What makes it so easy is the sunsword. I think I will have to tone it down a bit, and maybe try to put in some tougher creatures through the portal.

Cool little series, but seemed way too easy; maybe a few more monsters would help. Also, maybe limit the weapons to +1 would be helpful, cut down on the potions that are found, etc.
I check all of my module pages daily, so no need to worry about me missing a message. I replied on the Heir page, and will look into things.

Thanks for the reply. Hopefully you won't mind me including the next bit. Just in case you do not check out Heroes mod.
Upto part 3 and found crown/helm. However had two problems along the way.
1 Near to the end of part 2 and returning with glove. We encounter the black hunter and 2 henchmen. He is actually friendly even though he tries to attack me. Had to replay that again a few times (he was always friendly, so could not attack him in any way). Anyway turned all of us invisible and had Janus and Aragorn standing a fair distance off. Hit the trigger for black hunter etc and then ran away from him. He then attacks his henchmen and I bolster them by casting mage armour and bulls str until they kill him. However they were a lot tougher to kill. I was still invisible so would heal them but they would still attack me.
2 Part 3 Janus kets killed by evil spirit and I raise him. Howver even though Janus is still with me. There are 2 blips on screen of Janus. One does not show him the other is him. After returning to prince with amulet and receivinh helm. Janus does not recognise this he still says we are to destroy evil spirit. We killed evil spirit (begins with a K and he was very hard).
Am using a cleric with trickery and magic domain and have Aragorn and Janus with me. Wish Janus had some better spells when we are about to attack he'll cast mage armour then ghostly visage rush to combat cast burning hands (burn hands does no dmage on us) BUT we have already killed creatures.
Anyway as he also summons creature 1 and I can not kill it, we receive less xp as there are 4 of us now. What I had been doing is standing Janus as Aragorn and I take on the NME. When you are a fair distance from Janus you will receive XP based on 2 characters not the 3 or 4 if Janus and or summoned creature is with us. He has a very good staff but does not use it's abilities as well.
Just wondering if JAnus does not recognise the fact that we killed evil spirit because he was killed when we killed it and or because he hasn't really been involved in much fighting as well. VHave been very tempted to toggle spells and let him use a crossbow.
Even so am really enjoying it this time around. I know that returning back to village is a bit of a long trek but it has to be done I guess. Especially if there are ambushes.
The earthquake... No you never missed anything in part 2. The earthquake is just background for the quest it is attached to. Consider it to have happened while your character was up north, or even during the night between parts 2 and 3.
Yeah, destroying the portal doesn't take long, but exploring is always fun. All of the side quests are for the players who like to explore, instead of just rushing to the finish line.
I think you mean "Heir of Kyron" modules. I've updated them several times, but you might want to wait until CEP 2.3 is released before you retry them, since I have another small update planned for them.
I'm still trying to get the hang doing henchmen, so it's probably going to be a bit before they're better pollished. The scout in part 2 is really only there because the orc chief was a little too hard to solo. Kind of a quick fix for the problem, instead of trying to rescale the fight.

Hi Grymmly
Thanks for reply. Yep already had the necessaries? to destroy portal thought that the sphere and or mirror's destruction would cause it.
Glad you told me to check out shops. You start at the keep you kill a couple of easy monsters and destroy portal end of game probably in < 1 hour. Anyway went back to village where ther were a number of sidequests which enabled my character to reach 7th lvl.
Enjoyed it. Just wish there were more good reasons for monsters appearances in certain areas. The earthquake, what earthquake? or did I miss something from part 2.
Liked the fact this time around that if you died you would have xp and gold penalty. Always resave. Alhough it only happened once and that was when I was trying to protect rogue in part 2. Would have been easier to go it alone.
Didn't mention this in part 2 but I equipped rogue with short bow (much better with bow, no weapon finesse) and she would quite often revert to dual wielding. I always thought the NPCs/companion options used in HOTU was the best.
I think toning down the "armour" and especially the B sword (maybe a mace, +1, +2 vs evil and 1d4 magic damage vs evil)
Wondering if your Heroes of Krynn has been updated slightly. What I could remember of it is that the PC or the sorceror could not be killed (or the pc would not receive any penalties for dying). If they are then may well give that a go.
I enjoy playing NWN2 as well and I believe Heroes of Krynn would be very suitable. The biggest negative I get from NWN author's is that the NWN2 toolset is so complicated (probably the reason for it's slow demise). It is a shame really.
Anyway thank you for this trilogy. Will be tempted to use a cleric or a bard/ftr combo.
In order to be able to destroy the portal, you have to have visited the proper shop before going through. One of the shops has an item or two that make it a lot easier to destroy the portal.
I'll double check the settings on the orb and mirror. I didn't think I had made them indestructible. I may also lower the treasure available in the crypts. I knew it would be high, but when I was playtesting I was looking for bugs, not balancing treasure issues.

I am a little bit stuck here. Found the slaves in part 2 to enable me to reach 5th lvl, add a lvl of ftr so I can now use hvy armour and wpn prof exotic. This combination plus sword belt makes you nearly invulnerabe against attacks. Even criticals hardly do any dmage.
Anyway trying to find a way of destroying the portal in the ruins/crypt. There is a mirror and a sphere I can not damage, used fire, acid and inflict light wounds. Being a rgr/ftr that is it.
Also while robbing the sarcophagi I must have accumulated about 100.000 gp of items. A huge difference from previous 2.
What to do next?
