A short 3,600-word BioWare Neverwinter Nights module focusing on dialogue, nonlinear storytelling, and choice/consequence. Player is offered 3 mid-game decisions with a total 6 possible outcomes. No combat. Requires NWN, Shadows of Undrentide, and Hordes of the Underdark.
I created this module as a brief writing sample.
"While venturing through the heart of the Whispering Woods, you are accosted by a child who desperately pleads for your help in settling a violent quarrel between her parents. As tensions mount, you must resolve the matter before the situation takes an even darker turn."

This module was very enjoyable, and I liked the lack of fights! I really enjoyed the 'twist' in the story. I'd definitely play a sequel or another of your works!

@ RyanC08: That'll always happen. Especially if you are DLing straight to your desktop. I would suggest that you create a folder for your downloads, as and example, I have mine under: C:\My Downloads\NWN\NWN1. To date, I not had any trouble opening any archived DL when I open it to move contents. Try that.
@Nasrudin: Thanks muchly for your contribution. however, in the future, try to archive your stuff. Makes for easier downloading, esp. for those that have slow internet. _________________________ We are all born ignorant, but one must work to remain ignorant.

Is there perhaps a way you could post this in zip, rar, or 7z format? My computer seems to think that .mod is a music file, and proceeds to play it on Windows Media Player, rather than open the typical download box. Perhaps you could email it to me?

A fantastic little module! I had played through all the old BioWare Writing Contest winners and feel that this module is just as good as them, if not better. Shame you didn't submit it a few years ago. I actually had to try it a few different ways to really appreciate the story paths and the different options. Tense situation, engaging characters, player decisions that you actually have to put some thought into... and I'm still not sure which character was being totally honest, if any. Really nice work here.
Ah, thanks! Can't believe me I missed that considering I tested mostly with the default PC - Aluvian Darkstar. :)

Thanks for this, Nasrudin. A nice little 'dialogue module', and very well done. Interesting and well worth playing.
I used a female PC and early on in Faith's conversation she addressed her as "mister". Apart from that, everything worked fine.
Thanks for the feedback! If anyone comes across any bugs, please let me know.

Enjoyable story, short but sophisticated given the limitations of the design. Makes the player think about his/her choices and doesn't make them easy. Would be nice to have something flagging the end of the module in the journal or via floaty text or whatever in-game, although it's evident quickly enough. Thanks for sharing it on the Vault.

This was a great sample of your storytelling abilities. It is very short, but it requires a bit more thinking than click-to-fight. I can honestly say I was surprised by twists in the story, even though it was so short. I think this was a job well done. _________________________ "Shed no tears in my name!
