This is my classic pnp conversion of the 1994 TSR module by Drew Bittner of the same name. It is intended for a solo fighter between 4th and 6th levels. Knight-errand archetypes, paladins, or rangers are also possible.
Intro: "The kingdom of Tramilar was once a powerful state. Now, disease and dissent have left the kingdom weak. The Dreadwoods on the kingdom's northern border are a haunt for evil creatures and plots. Discord stalks the very halls of the king. Only the bravest and most dedicated warrior could overcome the obstacles hidden in the forest and lurking in the throne room."

Issues:
- Ariella sometimes does not go through transition(bioware follow script bug, I think)
- neither Ariella nor Bard have portraits
- doors in goblin village are pickable, but there are no transitions behind them
- gloombarrow is too big
- finding impostor cutscene is broken(had to reload)
- final quest(last laugh) is also broken, I have obtained both the info about poisoned flour and that jester might be the culprit(from kitchen boy), but I'm unable to confront the jester with this. _________________________ Thanks Rolo:)
Thank you, always good to hear someone enjoying my work.

This one was a lot of fun. It definitely captured the pen and paper feel. I liked that there were a number of possible options available for each situation, including running away in some cases.

There were several nice surprises along the way, like waking up in a goblin camp as a prisoner after dying rather than just having to reload, discovering that some chickens are more dangerous than others, or winning an Intelligence check to avoid getting thrown in the dungeon. The only time I ran into any trouble was when I treated it like a computer game rather than a pen and paper module. In PnP play I would probably have considered running away from the troll, but in computer play, with reloads on my side, I actually tried to defeat the evil thing! Not very logical when you're outnumbered and trying to protect a princess, I know. After checking out his description and remembering what the druid told my character I quickly fled into the barrow.

The issue was resolved by removing the override folder. _________________________ Steve's Characters - please don't forget to vote on them if you play them.
Steve, the save-game you sent me works perfectly and there's nothing to fix. In fact the only problem with it is your character is the wrong level and therefore also has the wrong equipment.

E-mail me please. I forgot yours.
Thanks. _________________________ Steve's Characters - please don't forget to vote on them if you play them.

George, do I need to e-mail you a saved game? I just tried again and the same results. _________________________ Steve's Characters - please don't forget to vote on them if you play them.
It still works fine for me. It's anyone's guess as to what you did differently.

I got there after the real princess asked me to meet her father. _________________________ Steve's Characters - please don't forget to vote on them if you play them.
There should be no empty room like that, how did you get there?

I am in a square room with an empty throne and no princess. _________________________ Steve's Characters - please don't forget to vote on them if you play them.
Is this intended for a better level of gear than the starter kit? I went in with a fresh lvl 1 fighter leveled to 4 in the module and got torn up by the wyvern, who drank a potion of moderate wounds during our fight and then poisoned most of my CON and killed instantly since I was wounded.
Thank you very much. A missing head would suggest something you did instead of me, perhaps you have something in your override folder? Regardless, I love feedback so thanks again.
This is a nice, short, fun module to play in an evening. Most of the combat is solidly balanced out and challenging for a warrior of the recommended level. Dialogue is simple, and for the most part functions flawlessly. Cutscenes are sparse and those which are present make sense. Roleplaying was fairly limited, but its a hack n slash mod, so more than that isnt to be expected. Visuals were limited, but present and did their job. I didnt notice any special use of sounds, apart from a few placeable sound effects (and even then, Im not sure), so I cant comment positively or negatively there.
Overall, a good time, and certainly worth a download! Thanks for putting this together.
Since its in beta, Im going to try to leave detailed feedback on bugs / things that might be bugs. Most of them are fairly minor, except maybe the last. If any of these are features instead, just ignore me :)
The next parts contain SPOILERS!
[[Possible Bugs]]:
-- The Iron key that drops in the tower fell behind the door transition so that I couldnt get it easily. Most of the goblins also appeared behind the door transition, so when I tried to target them, I walked out the door instead.
-- The horse from the starting tower followed me into Kesryks cottage. I dismounted inside, and then couldnt remount until I exited.
-- There were a couple places where one person was supposed to talk to me, but another did instead.
* In the King of The Forests Dialogue, the PC addresses Ariella, but the king responds.
* The same thing happens with the Millers.
-- The King of the Forest beat my horse to death instead of attacking me. Not sure if theres a way to stop this, or limit his attacks to the PC only.
-- The King of the Forest also used a sword and a bow instead of sticking to the agreed upon staff.
-- Zharta had no head, did not transform into a bat, and tried to use her staff on me instead of any spells. Not sure what happened, but killing her was a snap. A pity, since I was hoping to fight her chicken ;)
[[Points to Consider]]:
-- Making the troll immortal isnt nearly as fun as it would be if you could knock the troll down, but it kept getting up again. There are some nice scripts for that floating around on the Vault. Finding that he couldnt even be knocked down was crazy irritating to me (but then, I do love being able to knock a troll flat and *then* run from it).
-- Un-Identified magical equipment is hard to deal with if there are no shops and you dont have a ludicrously high Lore skill for a 4th level fighter. I suggest just Identifying everything from the start OR dynamically applying magical powers OnEquip of each item. Since there isnt much magical equipment, this wouldnt be much scripting, but itd be more than just marking things Identified.
-- In the Last Laugh quest (which was fun, by the way), maybe having an alternate way of doing things, or a hint somewhere to click on the flour over and over I dont know, the hard mental checks thing had me running to the walkthrough. Maybe Im just a bit slow as a player :)
Well, thats already a mountain of text. Probably should have just emailed this. Anyway, hope all this helps with the beta! Thanks for a good time!

thanks for the feedback thegoerge :] i feel kinda silly though since i totaly missed the "beta" part lol but for being one it was definitly worth playing...
Thank you for your feedback. Yes, since this is a 'beta' version you can expect future versions. Those portraits should've been different since they're generated randomly.

i enjoyed this theGeaorge :] way to go! I dont have any complaints except for the lack of story for the npc's... and a few of the quests (or the lack there of at the end)
*** Spoiler***
But by that i mean the last quest which seemed fairly obvious. i didnt even follow through with the quest and just went straight to the culprit.
Other than that you've definitly got something goin' here :O you also did a nice job on the modding, but i was a bit bothered by some of the NPC citizens of the castle who all had the same voice and portrait (being a modder myself anyone can take the time to have a female and male diffrence in voice and portrait. and im not talking about exceptional diffrences in every voice, just one female portrait and voice for all the female npc's and so forth) or the fact that all the plot characters seemed to have the standard starting weapons and armor and no elaborate appearances to them (by this i mean the bard, the half orc and the bridge king who all wore leather armor. A diffrence in there armor styles, not looks just armor types, would've made it more elaborate and immersive).
I was a bit worried by the way the transitions were set up as well. It was as if they were done in a hurry and, not enough time was taken into making them seem logical transitons. It gave me the impression that I was trying to force my way through tree walls o.O
I dont want to sound like im trying to bring you down, as i honestly thought that for a short, straight forward hack-n-slash module, it was good :] and fun to play. i even planned on playing it a second time only going through the goblin villiage than through the crypt. It was a nice module and i liked the plot, will you be releasing any future versions? you dont get too many new 1.69 tileset modules out there like this one...
Hey there thegeorge, and, will you please actually create and release a cool human male fighter/ranger/paladin class completely playable character for this actual module adventure with long black hair and a shaven face named "Agnorr" on here today please, and, please reply on here today please. _________________________ michael sharp.
