Not the least glimmer of light escaped the manor's tall black windows. Larkwood Manor brooded over a bleak, mist-shrouded valley. Constructed by unknown hands and means, the terrible manor was occupied by something ancient and evil.
A blot of night detached from the shadowed walls of the manor and moved out onto a narrow window. Lightning revealed the sneering countenance of....Count Strahd von Zarovich.

Here it is guys and gals. The revised version of I, Strahd. Bugs that were mentioned by NWN Vault members have been fixed by Mutantspicy. The link below will bring you to the Original Mod page where you can download the rest of the haks for the mod.

This was a real treat. A fantastic invitation to the world of Ravenloft. What I really like about this mod was that the author was not trying to ram too much about the Ravenloft world down our throats. Strahd was the center of focus and even that was just the right amount. A very nice intro to a Ravenloft Campaign.
What really struck me back on my heels, was that another member of the community to intrest and helped revise it with some really colorful scripts. I'd like to see more of this. What kind of work? Team work. _________________________ Let's not mince words. Let us say what we really mean to say.

It's an enjoyable short hack and slash mod with top notch graphics and an appropriate Ravenloft feel. There's not much RP in it, but the text was interesting and the combats fun (not too hard for a martial lvl 7 cleric). I liked it!

What?! Gone for a mere two months and already accused of not voting and witholding bug reports? ;)
Kenneth, I don't know what bugs Eva encountered but apparently I either didn't notice them or didn't run into them myself, otherwise I'd have told you. :)
Eva, I *did* vote, but only at the other Vault page ("I, Strahd") because that one already had a few more votes. But you're right, there's nothing to be said against casting my vote on this page, too. But Kenneth, next time you should probably just update your game instead of creating a new entry. Sure, it might have gotten you a little more attention at first, but at the price of confusion and splitting your votes and downloads afterwards...
Anyway, great series! Part 3 is still high on top of my "To Play" list!

good mod, very inmersive, but needs more role playing, im playing it and is more like a diablo like (H&S) game than than a D&D game, but is very fun playing it with friends.
Thank you. I am glad you like it so far. I am keeping away from the shadows of horror, until the holidays pass. I don't think they would fit for the holiday spirit. But I will be back.
Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year Eva.:) _________________________ Farewell and a long farewell it shall be. Some of us are not destined to meet again.

Hey ken! Thanks for replying so quickly (esp. at this time of year). I've replied.
I've started Nosforatu, but have just finished playtesting another mod and (hopefully) getting a review going, but plan on finishing it soon. So far, I am enjoying it. And I am NOT a horror fan by any means - actually, this is the FIRST horror mod I've started (and finished). I think that you did a very good job on this one - even considering the few bugs I found - and am really happy that you're learning new stuff, and that there are wonderful community members out there like mutantspicy and oliver willing and able to help out. As long as that keeps happening, the hope is that authors will continue to build for the NWN community's enjoyment!
Toodles! _________________________ Well...who would have thought THAT would happen?
Dear Eva, Thanks so much. I am glad you enjoyed it. I read you e-mail and am wondering why Oliver did not report those bugs. Anyone else having problems with this version? Please let us know. Thanks again Eva.
PS. Votes are nice but feedback is more important to me. So if you don't vote no problem. _________________________ Farewell and a long farewell it shall be. Some of us are not destined to meet again.

oliver! You didn't vote! For Shame! *tsk* *tsk*
Okay, Ken, I had to redownload and install the mod and start over. Not too bad considering it's about an hour's worth of hack n' slash fun. The visuals and atmosphere is absolutely amazing and well done! I think some things should have been polished better - it would have been nice to have map pins and journal entries. I'm going to send you more specific notes so maybe you can get those worked out.
Overall, well done, and I'm gonna go and download part 2 and see how that goes! _________________________ Well...who would have thought THAT would happen?
Thanks for the comments. I am glad you liked the mod. The transition on the door works best if you place the cursor above it, on the gargoyle face. Tileset design.
Mutantspicy (great job again by the way.), glad to hear from you. As for the ending all I will say is(*don't want to ruin it for players*) that I thought it hinted to Nosferatu with the conversation with Jander. For cutting an ending, fade to black or credits, no problem for next time. I didn't think that mattered much to players(truth be told, I just learned how to do it). I'll make sure there is more closure. Thanks for the feedback though. Have a great day guys.
PS. Thoughts of Darkness will be coming out soon. :) _________________________ Farewell and a long farewell it shall be. Some of us are not destined to meet again.
The bug for the second to first floor door, is not really a bug. The door does work, but you have to find the right place to click its a very small window. Its in the center of the archway at the top of the door. However, I will try to look at that one, because someone else brought that up. I suspect you're right and its something to do with the tileset.
I agree with your comments on the ending, something that I would like to see would be a transition into Nosferatu, so this mod acts more like a prelude.

I already finished it in not much longer than an hour. It was a very nice short hack and slash feast with great area design, good atmosphere and interesting background.
Like I said, for my lvl 7, then lvl 8 and at the end lvl 9 cleric (who brought his items from udasu's Accursed Tower, e.g. a hasted sword +1 with some additional damage), it was very easy. But I didn't mind that much. :)
I've still found one game-stopping bug though: The door from the second floor of the manor back to the lower level (x3_door_wood003) was not accessible for my PC. I used the cheat console to destroy it but even then the transition didn't work. Unfortunately I have no idea why, if it's a bug in the tileset or what else... (I also used the cheat console to jump back to the lower floor and was able to continue but if you find a way to fix it that would be great).
I'd have preferred a real ending, too; e.g. either export the PC and quit the game automatically, or have Strahd vanish after the conversation and display a message for the player that this ends the game and they should now export their character and quit.
Apart from that, I like it! If you manage to fix the door bug, I'll cast my vote (not sure if here or on the page of the old mod?).

Hey Kenneth & Mutantspicy,
thanks for revising the mod! I think the "Gaseous form" bug I ran into when I checked it out the first time is gone now. I'm excited to give the mod another try. :)
Some advice from my part:
The description above says: "The link below will bring you to the Mod page where you can download the mod." That's probably what got neoangel666 confused. Better change it to: "Download the mod and the new ItemFeat.hak here. The link below will bring you to the old page where you can download the rest of the haks."
You should also add a line to the description of the old "I, Strahd", warning players that there is a new version available and link to it.
I noticed the level recommendation for the revised version differs from the original one. For the old one you recommended a lvl 10 character. I playtested this one for a few minutes with a lvl 7 cleric and thought it was easy (fun though!) but maybe that's due to his cleric abilities.
Thank you. This was one of my favs and my first Ravenloft Mod. So I was really glad when it was revised. I still can't get enough of your Denizens. I use them when ever I get the chance. Your Vault name actually gave me the idea for a charcter in the Ravenloft serries. He is your mirror image counter part.....Someone. (So are you.) Have a great day.:) _________________________ Farewell and a long farewell it shall be. Some of us are not destined to meet again.
You can download the mod, new hak and the read me file here. However in order to play the mod, you will also need the haks connected to the *link*. The link will also provide you with some more information on the world of Ravenloft.
I reposted the mod here to give it another shot, and mainly because of the hard work from Vault member Mutantspicy. I just did not want to post the mod on the original page, for fear it would be missed. Sorry about the confusion. Hope you like it. :) _________________________ Farewell and a long farewell it shall be. Some of us are not destined to meet again.
