Bishop Mason has summoned you to the colonial village of Silent Hill to help him. Strange murders are occuring and they seem to be directed at the women and children of the village. A former priest of his church has organized a cult that threatens to destroy Silent Hill. Lory Gray leads this cult and she says she is the voice of God. That she alone can lead the citizens of Silent Hill to Paradise. Even at the cost of their lives.

This is my first mod and chance to fool around with the toolset. So Iam sure there are bound to be mistakes. Please leave any comments so I can make this mod better. Thank you.

Special thanks to Sixes Thrice and Lord of Worms for the spooky tilesets!

Thanks to Estelindis for the Kotor Heads hak.

Best for last! IZK THE MAD! Without his awesome Silent Hill hak this mod could not be made! Thanks Izk!
I will keep that in mind for the next project Neilium. I myself keep ejoying to go back into a game to see what I missed but I should not expect everyone to share that. As for the shop.....sorry. :(

Hi Ken, thanks for the reply...
No prob with the loot, I just have never played a mod before where not a single enemy throughout the entire game dropped something. (Probably not grammatically correct, but you know what I mean.) :)
I was never able to exit the shop at all, so I wasn't thrown off guard, I was ready to exit the mod itself. (Luckily I had saved the game before entering.)
I don't understand what you mean by 'keep going back' if the game is *over*.
If you meant starting a brand new game, then I'm sorry but that is extremely frustrating to me --- although other players might enjoy it!
Thanks for trying to answer some of my questions, and good luck in Part 2! :)
In time I will release part II. There is new content recently made that would be perfect for a Silent Hill world. Maybe I'll even place it in a modern setting. That's why I am looking closely at the comments on this page. These comments will be my foundation for the next mod. As I am crafting my scripting now. Please keep me informed. Otherwise this will die on the vine.
My friend Velgarn you are the first to mention this type of crash. So I am thinking the trouble is on your end? Maybe you do not have the 7zip program or your destination is off? Let me know. If you still have trouble I can post a version of the game without a folder. It's only 1mb I think.

Neilium thank you for playing and the compliments. :) As for the loot, I placed it in some areas of the game. Some guarded by monsters and others just hard to find. Trying to keep to the game.
Exiting the shop and putting you out of the area was to throw you off guard and freak you out. (Maybe not a good idea?)
The abrupt ending and feeling that you are missing something is done on purpose. Go with your feelings. The main idea of the game was for a player to keep going back and finding things they missed. Trust me, there are many things in the corners of Silent Hill. There is plenty to see, discover and experience. :) Hope this helps.

Hi Ken!
I'm not sure how I feel about this mod yet so I'm holding off on a vote for now. I have some questions, and they might seem a little Spoilerish, so...
.
.
.
.
.
[1] I *loved* the deliciously creepy atmosphere, great job!
[2] I did not get any 'loot' from a single foe, was that by design or a bug? (I did find stuff in several chests scattered about though.)
[3] I still don't understand being unable to exit the shop in town, what was the purpose of having one then?
[4] After 'going down' and back up, I was surprised by the abrupt ending.
I feel like I missed something (or many somethings) can you explain?

Look foward to them Chaos! The Hobbit looks pretty intense too! Can't wait to see that one.

KenMajere, thanks for explaining a bit about that part with Lory in the beginning of your module, and about the store. It all makes much more sense to me now. ;) Reminds me of that old Gamecube game Eternal Darkness where the game messed witht he player's mind by making you think there were bugs that weren't really bugs. That's pretty clever thinking, actually!
Ah, yes indeed I have some major projects I am working on. At the moment, I have released my Ultimate Edition of my Zork I module which fixes all remaining bugs and adds some unique new puzzles and traps just for the heck of it. Also, I have releaed a brand new prefab! Minas Morgul, the city of the Nazgul from Lord of the Rings. I have just submitted a redux of Minas Tirith also, which will be up by the next time the vault rolls around. You'll love them both, especially if you are (like me) a huge fan of Lord of the Rings! I've got some more upcoming projects too, so stay tuned. You never know what I'll be releasing next! :D _________________________ Chaos is not about anarchy! Thanks Chaos! You just made my night! Especially since I have been a big fan of your work for years! So the fact that you took the time to play this means alot to me. :) When Lory died I had planned for her to take some of the villagers so I used a script to have her explode. The fact that they same villagers show up later is because maybe thye don't know........as far as the one time in the merchant store the idea was to cause confusion and fear in the player. I do it with several other area transitions in the game but maybe that was not a good idea. :) Thanks for the feed back. :) You have any future projects coming up? More prefabs would be nice! I love all of yours! :) Crimson Forest was my favorite!

Regarding the bugs I mentioned in my vote, the most pressing one seemed to be that if you enter the shop from anyplace in the game that links to it... you can't get back out again. I imagine a DM could get you out again, but this module is single player and not DM required so that might be something to be fixed in a later version, if you plan of making one. Outide of that single issue, I didn't run into anything odd. One thing I found curious though: when the witch it burned at the stake in the very beginning, she explodes... killing several of the townspeople, all of whom then appear right afterward when you go on into the house to continue the story. Were they brought back to life, or was it that they were not supposed to have actually died in the explosion? I found that part rather curious, so I thought I aught to ask about it, just to see what you had in mind with that segment. All in all, this module was a nice treat and captured the feel of Silent Hill in a less modern time period than that series usually takes place in! :D _________________________ Chaos is not about anarchy! I enjoyed playing through this module very much! Being a girl who likes her Silent Hill, I had a great time delving into the mysteries of this interesting module. When I ran into Pyramid Head I was like: "Yep, this is how Silent Hill aught to be alright!" and though this module is far, far from being perfect it is still a lot of fun (once you get past a couple of bugs). Not quite a 10.00, but very worthy of about an 8:00 if only for the amazing effort that went into the whole idea of bringing Silent Hill to Nwn! _________________________ Chaos is not about anarchy! Hi, I downloaded the files and couldn't start the module. The error log showed "izk_silenthill.hak" could not be found. I downloaded the files again, but couldn't find it. Could it be missing from the posted files? Thanks!
