Continuing the series and enjoying it. Plot twists. The fort battles were well done.
thanks,

I think this is probably my favorite chapter in the series. The forest areas look absolutely fantastic, the battle at the castle walls was great, the combats were challenging, and I loved the infiltration of the castle. My only real disappointment was that the merchants weren't well stocked and that they didn't carry much, and that I had to leave so much great loot behind.

Played the entire series, but after so many hours of fun the least I could do was to take the time to rate each module.
My thanks to the Author

I really loved the direction the storyline took with this chapter. I've just finished chapter 6. I played all 6 straight through. You have a real knack for storytelling. Keep up the good work.

Loved this chapter, definetly my favorite ... though I still miss a difference between gender & classes ... _________________________ "If it had been the Captain doing it, the cat would be lost, the tree burned down, and the old lady would be traveling with us now." - S.J.

An excellent series. I put other mods as a priority because I assumed this series would be too Drizzt fanboy orientated. But I could'nt have been more wrong, it really sets the tone for the environment, reminding me alot of R'A Salvatore's books but still seeming original.
Other people have been put off by a few spelling/grammatical errors, but I'm quite grateful that the author (who is German as I understand it) is willing to release the series in English.
There should be a seperate rating scheme for modules this good.

I'm lovin' this series!
Good, solid story concept and a lot of fun, challanging encounters.

The whole series is great.

I agree with Cabzezone. That was in my opinion the main (and only) negative point in this great part 4.
So what exactly is the point of giving you the option to fight Thriandir in the farmhouse if he's invulnerable? Did you think that he would be too tough to defeat or something. It's really irritating to spend an hour on that fight only to figure out that no matter how many hit point I take off him he's not gonna die.
Thats pretty damn sloppy storytelling. There should be no option at all to attack him.
several of the conversation threads have busted branches. for example, when speaking with Ar'knal on the first floor of the tower, there are several conversation branches, but only one path will actually allow you to continue and make him go back downstairs. the others simply end up broken.
there have been several instances of these broken threads throughout the series, but it seems particularly prevalent in this one.

It's great when you raid the human strong hold, everything gets so damn great when you get betrayed and such, really feel roleplaying...whatever if you get my meaning, it's a great series of mod. _________________________ Freewill is a gift from God to us all.

I can't run the damn module because it keeps saying that I'm missing the required hakpak. I've repeatedly downloaded it, unzipped it, and installed it to my hak file. I still keep running into the sam problem. What gives?

Overall, a very good mod. I started out wanting to play a real evil PC and went fighter / rogue / blackguard but later I wished I had been good. The story really, really, wanted me to pull a Drizzit and go good and live in the surface. That was way too fan-boy for me, so I tried to stick to evil. But that doesn't really let you do much. Then again, you can't really play good either. If you refuse to pray faithfully to the Drow god, you die. There should be something in the writeup warning that this is a Drow story, but you can't be really evil and you can't be really good (Neutral only maybe?).
One thing that drove me nuts (and actually made me give up this series in the middle of the 4th mod) was the woods. There are way too many placables in the woods, and it messes with the auto-track very badly. I often (at least once per time trying to get through) got stuck somewhere and had to reload. It was / is horrible.
If the getting stuck in the woods got fixed, I would be happy to finish; though I would probably make a good PC so I can finish the story.
Oh, one more note, there should be a lot more stores. I found myself carrying all I could hold, and when I finally got to a store I didn't have enough to buy anything good. Maybe one of those "Djini-store" items like from the official campaign?
Overall, I would say the story is good if you like Drizzit, and ok if you don't. The actual coding is great, with the exception of the woods pathing problem.
Thanks for a few hours of entertainment!

The beginning was very frustrating. I felt like I walked around, did nothing and jumped from area to area on your whim, not my own. then, it got better, and finally the ending was just okay. All the spawning guard who showed up in areas that I had just visited is annoying.

A little short but the best part of the serie to my taste :)
I give it a "9,75" and "HoF" ;)
As usual, the locks and traps are too easy for my Rogue.
The fights are a bit hard but doable with strategy and boost.
The story and plot are really excellent !

For the moment, the best part of the serie ;)

I was surprised to finish this mod so quickly.
Got a bit confused early in the mod but it was no big trouble except perhaps for the alignement change (that in my case was not justified or did I betray Lolth?).
After things went very fast and I did miss a lot of stuff.
Got to the end of the mod and with no warning the game was over (no transition to chapter 5).
I guess I will have to reload and export my character. I am only Monk lvl 14 BTW.
Great serie. I prefer the first three though.

Me too. Was the only bug though I found.

I also encounter a weird bug playing this mod.
When Thriandir sent me to infiltrate the Fortress, I leave the Monument and try to enter the other door to see if this is the same location. But this great Hall were empty and when I go out I was in the first map of the forrest with no way to find the Waterfall and so conitnuing the story !!!
It is really annoying because I have to start again !

Nicely made mod, just couldn't get fully into it (even though the technical aspects are really good).

Well, looking around a little bit. In Module 5 you should follow this arrogant Wizard also there are no more dialogues for the Matron.
I guess it is not intended to defend her. But it is a little bit confusing, that you could.
Posted by mp ( 217.81.xxx.xxx ) at 2004-10-07 10:50:00
Teils raustellte?! => ahtd415b.exe
english:
As said: You couldn't defend the Matron, because of the Drow soldiers dont became hostile and attacking them, makes Llomir shooting at you. The Mage and his loyal J..? are undefeatable. The Drow ist invulnerable and the wizard stays "Dem Tode nahe" (dont know the english term).
Maybe you should look at this, thanks.
