If anyone is still looking, The Bioware Aurora NWN toolset Module Construction Tutorial, found under tutorial in the dropdown menu on the homepage is same tutorial that Maximus used, and completes the Fern Mod. It's PDF. Not Quite as easy to understand, but it will get you there.
Im new at this so maybe I'm not catching it BUT how does this end of the quest? I have everything working but it doesn't rap it all up so to speak. My PC can still go to him over and over and the NPC keeps ask if I have the item. Also the journal entries do not do anything. I did not see anything in T16 or 17 that tied them in.

All the other tutorials have been great, and I'm sure this one is too... except that I cant get it to work. The downloaded swf does nothing and when I try to load the tutorial in my web browser with the other link, it just doesn't load! Anyone help?

This is a compilation of the old system into a single score. There were 26 that made this score of 8.27 then rounded to 8.

I looked at all the tutorials, and things are starting to come together. I was wondering, is there any way to write a script that will change some "permanent" condition of the PC like an ability score, add a feat/skill, change gender, etc.? I know for things like alignment there is an AdjustAlignment function, but that won't work for this stuff. Thank you!

Try clicking on the View tutorial instead of right clicking and trying to download, it should play in your web browser.

You are my hero!!!! I sat down, fiddled with the tutorial, and came up with an entire quest. I tried messing around with it on my own and came to so many dead ends which you answered in a single page or less. Unfortunately, it's only the beginner setup, so there is a lot more I need to learn (a year of C++ and the interface is still confusing me).

Hey,
Your tutorials rule, once again. :) They've helped a lot, but I find the whole conversation scenario confusing. Maybe if I review it a second time I'll understand it better. Other than that, thanks for all the help Max. Great job on the tutorials! I hope to see more tutorials on what the "toolset" can do! I'm lookin' foreward to it!

Fantastic tutorials. Far better than trawling through loads of forums! They have really helped me in creating conversations/journals and all sorts of other stuff. I hope that Bioware take note of these, as the manual (well the 4/5 pages) for creating mods is truly pants!

D'oh! Accidentally submitted before I had asked my
question. I am still having some trouble with dialogue;
specifically getting NPCs to give the appropriate greeting
(initial greeting, quest-related greetings, post-quest-
completion greetings, etc). Can anyone point me in the
direction of a good tutorial or discussion of the finer
points of dialogue. (There is, of course, the chance that
I am just not getting the finer points of Maximus' fine
tutorial on this note. I am known as something of a
Luddite...) Thanks again, Maximus, and to everyone else
for making this fun.

Just to join the choir: thank you, Maximus. Gudy put it
well. Those of us old schoolers trying to breach the gap
appreciate clear, straightforward tutorials that do not
presume a working knowledge of scripting. Kudos.

Good job Maximus, just wanted to know how do you set up a
script so that when you talk to a person or talk to the
placeable teleporter, how do you make it so that it will
take you somewhere? E-mail me please.

Maximus, this is simply the best tutorial I have ever seen
for a beginner. This taught me EXACTLY what I needed to
learn.
I can't wait until you release more Intermediate\Advanced
tutorials. Please keep them coming!

These were the best tutorials. I am also a hands on person
and with this follow through learn as you do it method, I
am now comfortable to start making my own modules. I
realize this takes up time to make these viewlets, so if
there is any way we happy students can support you to get
more of them out for us, please let us know! There is so
much more we can learn from you all without having to
resort to trudging through scripts of other people and
trying to figure out the finer arts of C programming. ;)

From one of several paper adventurers who now embrace the
future of electronic gaming. My friends and I find your
tutorials to be top quality and very informative. It will
give us an opportunity to help the community with new
modules of adventures. As the old saying goes "You can give
a fish and feed a person for a day. But teach to fish and
they can eat for a lifetime!". You Master Fisherm(e)n are
great leaders and we truly thank you for your skills and
thoughtfullness to teach us. Keep on keepin on.........

if someone know how to make NPC or PC answers grey please
mail me. Basically it should be possible to get back to
the beginning of the conversation, without having to end
it. get it? mail me if you know, thanks
