Description
just a few clips of my firearms system that isnt finished yet.

i recorded it with FRAPS and then used windows movies maker to cut down on the file size.from 200MB to 6MB is some crazy compession update- check out 2 uzi's. this is my first ever attempt at animation and i only got gmax 5 days ago so its a bit sloppy. i am going to go back and do it again taking more time and care. Update: check out demigogs cool pistol animation. the quality of the movie is rubbish but muzzle flare is fine ingame.

This looks like it could be something great. I find it odd though that two Uzi:s are flawlessly accurate, whereas a rifle hits a little of everyone.

The Dark Tower is a series of sci-fi/fantasy novels by Stephen King. I've been wanting to implement the series into a game even back when I was building maps for DooM II. Seeing the firearms in motion in NWN makes me feel a lot better about using NWN to make the series into modules.

Glad you like it!

it could be a while as im working on a few things at the moment and there are still some issues that need worked through.

i am using it in the Renraku Arcology-Shutdown SP module i am working on for ShadowrunnerNights. this will b split up into 3 acts, the first of which should be ready in 2 months(approx.). on release i will put together some documentation on how to implement it into your own modules.

Dark Tower? is this based on something or is it your own creation?

Any idea when these firearms will be made public? I really like the uzis in the second video.

Hey this footage is pretty cool. Gives me new hope for the Dark Tower mod I have been planning for a couple of years now.

Great stuff, HB! I could REALLY use this in Nightfire. The pistol in shooting position is very nice, and the automatic weapon fire is just amazing. Is the latter all script-based? I know the pistol animation is custom content stuff. Keep it up!

i have made a number of improvements since i recorded this.

i was applying the muzzle flare to an invisible creature just infront of the PC because i didnt think you could apply vfx_imp to a location, but you can so i am now applying it using some vector scripting(and i learned how to use dot operators in the process, always good to learn something new).

i got gmax yesterday and i have already fixed the pistol fireing animation, it looks alot better now.
because of the way i am doing this i should be able to get two pistols working with out to much of a problem.

i am going to start a thread on the D20MM site. it is more likely i will reply there.

sorry i dont know much about these things. So my only option is to post a 70MB rar with the FRAPS recording in it. Its just there isnt much point in downloading a 70MB file for a 30 second clip.
Is there an alternative to FRAPS that dosnt make such huge files? i have tryed bringing down resolution and stuff but no effect.
any help or sugestions would be apriciated.

"I really dont get how it can go from 100Mb to 18 kb. thats some crazy compression."

That's because all that is in the .rar file is the Windows Movie Maker file. This is unplayable for anyone without the source files.
