These video files are to showcase the hard work of those who put together all the models and scripts for the Firefly sci-fi system (by Forrestwolf) and D20 Modern Team, and include gameplay footage using FRAPS. I'd run a weekly game for friends using it, and made lots of modifications of my own. I would love to see more of the same for NWN2, so this is just to inspire builders and generate interest for players.
The first video mainly showcases the models and cityscapes with some gameplay, while the second is from a single-player mod I was never able to finish. It has lots of cutscenes.
I've cut the downloads to just smaller WMV files, sorry. The second movie is in two parts, A and B. They are still huge, but several minutes long each.
Alorain - it's not surprising. There are some glitches in the tilesets, but I only had minor problems with them; nothing that severe. Maybe try changing your options to allow for all Texture Packs by running the Configure on the game launcher.
Forrestwolf - I completely agree on waiting. I've seen some bad reviews of NwN2 though I'm enjoying the game myself. The huge issue seems to be mod distribution size. SP mods may not be as big of an issue, but MP mods may be out of the picture for the most part with this one. All those walkmeshes and pretty terrains had to cost something I guess. :/

Do you mean Firefly interiors, or exteriors? The interiors use Fuzzwolf's Complex Labs tileset, which should be pretty stable.
Tor - the Star Trek stuff is great! We'll see if people really require NWN2 for this material anytime soon - NWN2 is still really in the early stages for this sort of thing.
this is a bit off topic, i really like the movies, well done. I appreciate the chance to see the firefly stuff. i haven't been able to run a mod with areas of firefly interiors. For example, i can run deadlands, which has firefly in it, but any area actually using the spacetileset crashes... go figure?
Hehe, the tank just worked so well I had to keep it. There are actually a lot of your zones that I only modified. We used the base FF interior throughout the series.
The shuttle was actually less than I wanted to do, but since there were no cloud creatures to simulate streaming by, I settled for a somewhat random creation/deletion of cloud models on waypoints set at different heights. The fire, smoke and lights did the same to simulate "atmo burn". All the cutscenes use Gestalt's, so credit goes to him for how well those look really.
There were a lot of subtle references to shows/movies in the SP mod I'd been working on (Aliens pulse rifle sounds most noticeable in the clips), but Trek definitely stood out the most. If modelers and haks allow, I'll probably revamp the mod for NWN2. I doubt too many will play my other one now even if I finish it. If I had the tools and the skills I'd start modeling ships, guns and the works, and start setting up a new system now. I'd probably make a group-friendly mod rather than SP next time though.

I was able to watch both (all three, really) movies now, and they're great! In particular, I love the Firefly-class ship flyby at the start of the second movie, followed by an atmospheric re-entry (!!!) of a shuttle. How did you do the FX on the shuttle re-entry?
It was also nice to see my little tank interior in use :)
Finally, it sounded and looked like you had a little Star Trek Original Series material in there - nice!

I also noticed I hit the bandwidth limit on my site that I didn't see coming, but I've fixed that as well. Come back in a bit if you're wanting to view the 2nd large movie (10/28/06).
Hey, Forrestwolf! Thanks again for providing all that hard work for me to work from. I was going to come to your forum and post about it to thank you and shamelessly plug your work. I hope you're still considering Gamma World for NWN2 but I guess we'll see how complex things are. Anything generically sci-fi would be awesome.
The 2nd movie being corrupted was my latenight uploading fault. I didn't double-check and they are only half there. I will upload again though. It's the most worthwhile to look at.
Slygar: I will probably post up my mods for people to use that may never get NWN2 or just want a sci-fi fix. Like Forrestwolf's though, it requires a DM for the most part, but that doesn't mean you can't fix them up for single player or non-DM'ed games. Unfortunately my SP mod was consuming time I didn't have and couldn't get it finished before NWN2, so the 2nd movie will have to do once I get that uploaded again.
Wow, that is some neat stuff. Are there any mods using any of it yet??

Thank you SO much! I'm really glad the Firefly system made for several good campaigns for people, and I sure appreciate the chance to see your experience with it. The space intro scene was my favorite :)
I can't download the small or large version of the second movie, however - the small zip is empty, and the large one comes across corrupted...
