I figured with everyone trying to build their own modules that a breakdown of skill vs. DC checks might be a good idea. I put this together using Excel and then converted to html. People would be able to use this as a guideline when determining the DC that they might want to place on a secret door, or a spot check, or any skill check. It uses level, skill level and % chance of success.
This is a compilation of the old system into a single score. There were 2 that made this score of 6.00 then rounded to 6.

This is a useful thing but I think there's an error in
there.
I'm not sure 100% how DC's work, whether you have to roll
over the DC or just equal to or over. But whichever it is,
there is a problem.
Looking at your level 1 average character:
Skill is 3, the 75% DC is 8.
If you need to roll equal or over, the PC fails only on a
1, 2, 3 or 4. This is 16/20*100 = 80% success
If you need to roll over, the PC fails on a 1, 2, 3, 4, 5
which IS 75%. This is the same for 50% and 25%
But looking at 10%, for skill 3 the given DC is 22.
Equal to or over succeeds on a 19 and 20, which is 10%
But just Over only succeeds on a 20, which is 5%. So there
is an inconsitency.
If Equal To Or Over succeeds, all entries in 75%, 50% and
25% need to be -1
If Over Only succeeds, all entries in 10% need to be -1
Cheers

Now that is where you put it :P You have SO MUCH it is easy
to overlook. Thanks for the correction and for such a great
place to get anything and everything dealing with NWN.

You converted to html?
Looks like you didn't....
Sounds like an interesting thing to look at, but I don't
have a spreadsheet utility like excel :(
