Tools to encode/decode dds files to/from tga files. Should work with 24 and 32 bit tgas and all NWN dds files. If you have problems, mail me. (Updated: Fixed problems with 24 bit DDS Files, thanks to Thrasher)
@spc_75: I for one would be -extremely- glad if you would release a java version of this that can do multiple files. My usual method of converting DDS to tga no longer works and has pretty much stopped me from doing further custom content.
I was asked to make this automatic(do more than one file at a time) and have done exactly that in Java. (once the directory is specified, u only have to click one button for mass conversion.) Would you like me to release it here? With your permission DB.

Estelindis: Where did you find the tool? When I click the link, I go to someone's website. There's no obvious way to navigate through it nor any evidence that the tool is there anymore.
This is a compilation of the old system into a single score. There were 2 that made this score of 5.50 then rounded to 6.

@Dengoku
DDSTools has to be run in a DOS window. Can't run it by clicking on it.
I posted complete instuctions for it in the comments when it was first put up. Look quite far down at that file. ;)

Suilannad!
I've been trying to find a good DDStool and would like to try Janus's DDSTool...I downloaded it but on running the EXE...nothing happened(well...except for the millisecond flash of the command-prompt screen)? I'm a newbie and the zip file didn't come with a ReadMe. Am I doing something wrong?

Well the link doesn't work. It can't find the page.
So can anyone send it to me?
Or at least post where to find it now

Just a little something for future-users to watch out for.
When you first extract the tga's from the dds file, it
produces 7 or so tga's each named, for example, c_troll0,
c_troll1 troll2 you get the idea. Make sure you delete the
number if you want the skins to replace properly. (One of a
handfull of pitfalls I encoutered in my quest to create the
Rock Troll...)

You need to run the tool using command prompt under
Win2000. Place the utility in the same directory as the
extracted dds files and type the following line in command
prompt once you've changed the directory to the correct
location:
ddstools -d filename.dds to extract a dds
ddstools -e filename.tga to encode a tga to dds

I tried it on Win2000, double clicking on the EXE file
causes a window to appear for just under 1 milisecond, then
its gone.
Help!

Ran on WinXP, tested with a few .dds files extracted with
Zoligato's NWN Packer v0.1. Made nine 43 byte .tga files
but otherwise did not work.
