Got bored of looking at the default Bioware scrolls?... Don't like the glossy shiny same colour finish on every scroll?... Have difficulty telling your scroll horde apart?..
Then this is just what you need. A set of coloured scroll icons which replace the normal standard BioWare scrolls.
Based on the spell icons found in the PW of Aenea created by the Amethyst Dragon.
Compatable with all versions of NWN.
These sets includes all scrolls for the 460 spells(including Aenea PW spells).
Only the spell scroll icon has been changed.
No actual effect of the spell has been altered.
The readme has more details on installation, and this was designed with use by players of the World of Aenea PW in mind. If you've not gone to Aenea before, you don't know what your missing!
It will work with any PW although any custom scrolls they have are not included. Fully compatable with all OC campaigns.
Feel free to use as you would, just mention me somewhere in your credits.. I will NOT be taking requests for additions.

Updated:: Based on feedback, I have now made both the original Rustic Scrolls or a Glossed Scrolls versions. Just extract the hak you would like to use to your override folder. (For builders use the hak you want).

For the few that downloaded the update yesterday, I just realised that I forgot to add the Glossed scroll for Ice Dagger... So I've uploaded just this file for those guys/girls.. add into your override folder or the hak... I've updated the main download as well, so anyone dl'ing after 10/01/10 won't need this file.
This .rar contains BOTH sets of scrolls. Just use the set you like the most. They are in hak format for easy use by builders. You need to extract the hak file to the override for normal NWN OC play.
Ugly ? really ? That is kinda half the point of the rustic scrolls,they are meant to be old-looking run-down scrolls, but the glossed ones ?
I'm sorry you think that they are ugly , but what do you think I could do to make them NOT so ugly ? ... I'm not against criticism, but I'd rather it was constructive, then insulting with no follow-up argument ... ...

Thankye AD... A 10 vote from an icon/override/modder genius such as yourself really means alot.
And the time was found over the last 5 months ... with a big push of around 200-250 some created last night. I've been putting 70% of my spare time into these, you may have noticed I've been absent from Aenea all christmas period (which is no easy thing!) just to get these completed .... ...

These are a nice addition for those that tire of the traditional scroll colorations.
Nice work, RustyDios! Good luck in finding time to finish polishing these up. Real life obligations can be a challenge to work around.
Note for Aenea players: If you use these and want to make sure they keep working through multiple hak updates, I would suggest adding them to your copy of the cep2_custom.hak file, since the updates hak may get overwritten with each update. _________________________ World of Aenea (Hall of Fame PW and the origin of all my works)

I'm sorry guys... but with my current work load, new wife, 9mnth old boy and new house... I've had to drop the project to upgrade these... I just don't have the time... RL sucks sometimes...Mybe I can back to it sometime in the future but for now, these will have to stay as they are...
Thanks for the votes guys/girls... I'm still working on giving these some polish.. it's slow work, going pretty much pixel by pixel.. and I'm having to teach myself a whole new graphics program to do so.... eta = unknown...

Looks very good in game, though has to be combined with other color mods. Otherwise they stand out a bit too much.

Thanks for the clarification, I think I see what you mean. Indeed, you use the same colors, but the backgrounds are different. Such is what fooled me the first time I saw the preview, as the background color seems to prevail in some scrolls over the "Aenea type hue."
It also seems like your background choices have a pattern to them, and after watching the preview for some time, I find it is such that makes the scrolls look weird to me.
Now, don't get me wrong, I am not saying your work is bad, I merely shared my opinion, and that is why I didn't vote, as such is not a matter of objective analysis.
I like your "marshland green" background as a base for the whole set, or maybe an ocre one, seeing as those are the most likely to look old-ish.
In the end, however, it's your choice!

The "1st scroll re-colouring pack" was not by AD.. but the author of that that pack (tom ford) did use AD's spell icons, and yes I agree they do look bolder, but this pack was designed to move away from that boldness...
I'm not sure where you're coming from in terms of colours.. this pack uses the same icons as the "1st pack", from AD's spell icon mods... I've just tried to make then look rustic and coloured the backgrounds.... ...
The last set of scrolls with the purple backgrounds are all icons for AD's PW and are on the purple to distenguish and denote this for the players..
Hmm. but I'm a fan of constructive critism so I'll see what I can do to "polish" these up a bit... .. ... I'm not making any promises though...
Even though I like the idea of having rustic, old-looking scrolls instead of bold new ones, I think the chosen colors, expecially the purple in most of the later spells, looks really bad, even more so when combined with a symbol in aqua, blue, etc., the image is simply cheap.
I can see the author worked on this, but I prefer Amethyst Dragon's first re-coloring pack, as his scrolls look clearer and have lots of definition. Besides, the PW's author had a color system that helped to easily recognize each type of spell. Maybe some work on Aenea's set, to make it old-ish without changing colors, would be better for spellcasting players like yours truly...
