This simple alteration stems from a request on the BioWare NWN board by UnknownGuy666. After making this for him, I decided to share with the rest of the community.
This small download is designed to alter the default health status (hitpoint bar) colors, changing away from red/brown/green so that players that may have red-green colorblindness can more easily tell the three main states apart.
I've changed the "healthy" red to blue, the "poisoned" green to purple, and the "diseased" brown to yellow.
To use: Just decompress the "gui_boxes_ingame.tga" file into your NWN/override folder.
I've also included a simple testing module that can be decompressed into your NWN/modules folder and used by starting NWN, clicking "New", then "Other Modules", then "gui_status_test".
Feel free to alter the colors of the .tga file if the included colors do not provide enough contrast for your needs.

Also, as stated - folks who want to easily edit the default colors can find use for this.
And is it definitely a 10 for completely fulfilling its exact purpose.

@ShaDoOoW you are sadly mistaken in regards to the incidence of color-blindness.
Color deficient vision is present in approximately 20% of the male population (most undiagnosed and unaware) and 2% of the female population.
Take a look on wikipedia or medical journals for additional information including the different types of color deficient vision. A little research is warranted before you make sweeping statements regarding accessibility, lest you find yourself looking like a jerk in a public forum.

Thank you AD for another contribution to the NWN community. And yes, I use this modification because I have color deficient vision.

Sorry for being an assole.
All the work from The Amethyst Dragon is excellent however I do not understand why so much peoples instantly voted for something that can use only minority of peoples and its for no use to everyone else. There are so much entries that deserves *ten* and they are overlooked.

Something Bioware should have thought of, Thanks AD.

I like this. Even for those who aren't color blind, but just disliked the default bioware healthbar colors, having a simple source to edit is great. Much better than having to poke through nwnexplorer to find the files.

unlogical? Your use of grammar is illogical, to me. If you're color blind it's perfect. My father is color blind and he has trouble with certain shades of green and red. What AD did was eliminate the colors that have these certain shades. Ratings are for rating a submission on how well it does it's purpose. So yes, it is 10 material. Because it does EXACTLY what it is intended to do. Do you know how annoying it is to be color blind? Try wearing anaglyph glasses and reading red text. A rainbow to us would only have shades of yellow and blue to them. _________________________ Neverwinter Nights Launcher

Why would those colors be anymore unlogical than the orginals? When you think about it Green is normally the color of health so why is it poisoned in the orginal?
While not groundbreaking it is a cool little adjustment that Amethyst took the time to do. I know you have shared much as well but lets be civil.

A a bit of niche thing, but if you're colour-blind I guess this would be really groundbreaking despite its simplicity because you'll actually be able to tell the difference in the healthbars.
It's not going to shake the NWN community, but it may at least make large ripples in the smaller colour-blind sub-community ;-) _________________________ In production: The Dragon Dynasty All my other stuff

Yeah, the colors may seem like odd choices, but I'm sure they work a lot better for those with red/green colorblindness! Not colorblind myself, but I think it's awesome this is available. Makes the game much more accessible!
