Haze is probably THE best RP server out there in terms of what you might usually expect given the quality of Rp servers that you see on gamespy. It is defined along the lines of realism, not High fantasy. The players will expect to have a realisticly tough life when dealing with monsters, and its quite easy to kick the bucket if you expect to just wade in and kill everything in sight.
Haze requires a significant time investment from players who plan to make their mark, and an open schedule and plenty of play hours are the best way one can advance himself socially within the game.Once you get that, the rewards are great and very satisfying.
Like all big juicy apples out there, which Haze is definately the biggest and juciest, there will inadvertently be problems, people are human after all.
The DMs do not apologise, ever, and they stick together like glue. If one DM says something, its a joint effort, I've never seen a DM overrule or contradict another. While this shows an incredible amount of teamwork and togetherness, it means that change can be very hard to accomplish unless you are highly respected player, or even a former, or current DM of that server itself, and that itself is not a garuntee.
Players are asked to provide feedback, but loud criticisim is not allowed. Its basically the same situation as being an invited guest at someone's house, if you really don't like the furniture, don't come back.
The server's IRC and private forums do not have a privacy policy per se, whatever is sent through private messaging is and has been open for review by the owners.
There are dozens players who enjoy Haze, and if you are prepared to contribute to the server and have fun(maturely, not running around in circles and randomly typing gibberish), Haze might very well be the perfect server for you. Best login times to catch the most players are usually during US mornings to evenings.

This is a compilation of the old system into a single score. There were 17 that made this score of 9.53 then rounded to 10.

I have found this server a mix.
Role-playing is paramount, and the game has this to completion. All players understand, and rarely slip out of character. With an incredible difficulty in making your character anywhere beyond level 2 (a feat that would take an incredible amount of time) players need not feel intimidated by just starting, and the value of their character is there, at least in potential.
As far as role-playing is concerned, I�ve searched for a year to find anything better then this group. Based in the Forgotten Realms, it would be best to have at least some knowledge of this place before you set out.
Now, for the negative. These are, really the biggies of the RPers, and elitists in that fashion. I consider myself an okay role player and have learned much watching them, but it just doesn�t cut it. It�s incredibly difficult to try and join into the plots of intrigues, and rich history that has developed. The older players have worked hard together to let their characters grow and the ties between them are too hard to join into (aside perhaps as cannon fodder). As a consequence, I would not be too expecting. A new character is just an "extra" in the movie, with the usual life span. Standing out, getting noticed, and not getting your char killed require a fair amount of thought and planning and luck. And that is not even mentioning the horde of all powerful (Maybe relatively) NPCs I have seen. Fact is, you really have to make your own stories for this server and hope it can work well.
Make no mistake though, if you somehow manage to make the leap from just an extra cast, to an actual character, you would find yourself in good company and enjoy yourself immensely. The power of story is your only hope, to achieve anything out of this world. You need to be an rper with no hesitations on how your character would act, for better or worse.
Musically, graphically, socially, this world has its strongest points. It is one of the few servers (if perhaps the only one), where racial tensions actually occur. I think that is the defining feature of this world.
It�s addictive, in its difficulty. Though I�ll likely get nowhere in my own RP, I have continued to try. in the end, it�s a good way to interact and learn, and quite realistic as a low magic world. Still, tommorow is another day, and i'll continue to try.
- From the perspective of a drifting player, still trying to work out the riddle with no answer.

What can be said about this server than isnt flawless and totally captivating...
HAZE is in my opinion the single best roleplay server that can be played on in NWN. The level of roleplay is created by an excellent dm team, a flawless module, an excellent hak pak, a strong player base and a realistic low magic setting.
If you want to roleplay on a server that doesnt consist of powergamer and griefers and that gives you a real feel of living in another world.. then what are you waiting for!
Download the hak paks.. get the password and join us on the best server out there IMHO...

A brilliantly designed and thorough guide to without question, the most immersive, breath-taking, and true-to-its-PnP-roots Roleplay server in the world. The team is amazing, from code to visual design, making what was considered impossible within the engine, happen. Dm's author plots both epic and personal, and our player base creates a grand illusion together. It is everything they say it is, and more.
The best roleplayers NWN community has to offer. Fantastic custom content. Magnificent atmosphere. Great world design. Hard working and dedicated dungeon masters. An active and creative community. Do I need to go on?

I've been with this community for more than a year now, and I don't expect to leave.
I must admit that I have had my best roleplaying experiences with these people, and I am sure that on Haze I will have many more great roleplaying experiences!

Getting started out in a pw like haze isn't that difficult, i'm a relative newbie to haze and it's fantastic :)
the player guide just makes things even easier, all you need to do is read, understand .. and enjoy!
If you're looking for some truly great RP, you should no longer wait but join up.
The community is great and I've never had so much fun on any NWN server before. The frequent DM events and the ability to change and affect the world, as well as the realism and attention to detail is what makes HAZE a truly special game experience.

HAZE is an advanced RP server, and perhaps no servers out there meet the standards it has RP wise.
Your character is what makes this PW keep going. It is you who will make the difference In Game.

Haze is a REAL Role-playing server, unlike the so many other role-playing servers out there where everyone just spams the best monster spawn, collects loot and gains EXP over and over and over again. In Haze, you actually play the character and take part in a living, interactive world where YOU can truely make the difference, and affects dozens of other players.
I just finished reading it and although I am quite a veteran to this world ( been member of this community for over a year now ), I must say : Great work!
It contains informations about the world of HAZE, it's setting, the game mechanics and other useful stuff. And additionally, it is written in a readable style! I must admit, I wish something like this would have been available, when I first joined.
This shows how much a community can achieve, when there are dedicated players, that put in their effort. And it shows, how much we emphazise welcoming new members. There's no new player unfriendliness ( it is even seen as bad behavior to use the term Newbie ). You can always rely on getting help from more experienced players.
After reading all the accolades- and it's all true!- I can add that HAZE is no roller-coaster ride. Thanks to a hard-working core of DMs, builders, and writers, and a solid group of RPers, the world changes over time due to the actions of the player base. So jump the tracks, wander around, and see what HAZE has to offer!

What can I say...I have played on several servers but they are not comparable with HAZE...the standard of the RPing is very high, tilesets beutiful and ofcourse, the DMs makes it even more fun to play due to their professionell skills. :)
Two words for you that have not played on HAZE: Try it!

Yes, Mitheria is right. Haze is the apex of what every roleplaying server should be, where the goal is Roleplay and enjoyment with others with minimial concern for XP, which is merely sprinkles on the icing ontop the cake. The DMs are active and very response to the tight community's needs both In character and Out of Character.

Haze is the epitome of what a roleplayer server should be. Both the DM's and the players put their all into making this a totally immersive environment and I can honestly say there's no other server like it.
All it's custom additions and unique systems give it a flavor you can't find anywhere else.
