This is my first tutorial. It's a simple step by step tutorial on how to add wings and/or a tail to a HotU Character. This will NOT make your character and illegal character. The file is a simple html page, with a few images to show what I mean. Any feedback is welcome, positive and/or negative =)
Great, thanks for the advice. I'll try the con increase tip. The only character I'm trying modify is my Illegal/Uber character. The only place I take her is the arenas when I need some hak slash fun. My other vault and server characters for my weekly campaigns are all regular, generally low level characters. My weekly campaigns are role play orientated and when there is action it's my whole party agains NPCs that fit the levels and mod. So these modifications are strictly for arena Hak Slash, so it's ok for her to be as illegal as all the other charaters in the PvP Arenas, ha,ha. Thanks again

Giving more hp is easy. If you want to maximize the number of hit points, without making your character illegal you can just use the GFF Editor, then find the line called "LvlStatList". It should exstend a new list numbered 0 to a maximum of 39 depending on how many levels you have. Each line represents a level up. The one called "LvlStatHitDie" is the number of hitpoints you gained on that level. Now, you can change this number to the maximum you can get for that spesific class on a level. If you are unsure what class you leveled up as there's a value in "LvlStatClass" indicating what class you were. This number is the same as the ones used in the Classes.2da file. If your number is say 4, you are a fighter and could have gotten a max of 10 hp at that level. So if the "LvlStatHitDie" number is only 5, you just got 5 hp at that lvl up. If you change all your "LvlStatHitDie"s to max, your character should get more powerful. Another option, which will make your character illegal is simply to raise the value called "con". Hope that helps

Alright I think I figured it out, ha,ha. I had been trying to put wings on my character I take to the PvP Arenas. And that is the character the system wouldn't load. Maybe it didn't work well with all of her "suped up/Uber" itmes she has on and it was intefering. I tried the wings with a character with regular items and it loaded properly. I guess I'll modify a character equiped with regular items, then take her to a leveler/shop and load her up with "specialty" items for the arenas. Still need to figure how to increase her hit points and ac though, she usually doesn't last to long in the arenas even with all her special items. ha,ha thanks again

Thanks, the folder option worked. Was a quick fix once the txtensions were visibal and accessible. Maybe you could answer another if you have a chance. I have it in my local vault, as a bic file, the only change I made was the wings, but it still won't work? When I click new game and go to either Hotu or any of the modules, it won't transition. My character is there and I can pick it, but then the screnn goies black (as normal) the music is playing and usually the transition happens and your there in the game. But my screen goes black, music play, and that's as far as it goes? Won't complete transition. I have NWN, both expansions and the CEP, do I need any additional HAKS? I shouldn't should I? Don't know. If you have an answer great, if not, I do appreciate the tutorial and you responding to my earlier question. thanks

It's very simple really. All you have to do is rename the file's extension from .gff to .bic (Some windows versions has the file extensions hidden by default. You can make them visible in tools->folder options. There you should see something like "hide file extensions for known files")

Ok, I got through the whole process, was very easy thanks. Only thing now is I cannot find a way to re-save the file as a bic instead of a GFF. I don't have any program that will open the file and let me re-save or delete the gff? Does that make sense? I even had the internet try and find a program that will let me open up the gff file? I am assuming there must be a simple way to do this, I don't see that anyone elses posted that they couldn't remove the gff and resave as bic? any ideas? thanks

I'm not really sure. My scripting knowledge is a bit limited. Does anyone know and would like to share the answer with us?
