Some scripts to make NWN and Blender (http://www.blender3d.com/) modelling app cooperate. The goal is to make a comprehensive MDL exporter and importer for Blender. At the moment, exporting already works for most parts and it can be used for *some* tasks. The scripts should work in any operating system Blender runs on (primarily coded in Windows, lightly tested in Linux). 2003-10-12: No new uploads - just changed the file URL to point to the new location due to site redesign. A side note: The thing is also now in the Blender Projects Page (http://projects.blender.org/projects/neverblender/), and you can get the prerelease code from CVS. Tons of cool stuff coming in the next release!!!
2005-05-16: Thanks to the new non-complicated Vault operations, I'll now start to upload interim CVS snapshots here. These releases aren't "official", see the home page for those, but these are ItWorksForMe(tm) releases and far, FAR better working than the official things! The both import and export scripts should now work on the post-2.36 Blender, at least to some extent.

For concept:
However, I could use some help. Do you happen to know how to set this up with Portable apps Blender? I have tried numerous times and cant seem to get it straight. Have seen the NWN models though outside of Aurora and Cant wait to mod them. Any help would be greatly Appreciated.

I'm glad that someone decided to make a tool for a modeller free of autodesk's blackhole. You get 10 just for that. Now if I can just get this to work I can import my cheetah3d models into NWN through blender. I'd much prefer to work in os x than in windows. _________________________ Vault Submissions | Arnheim | Beyond Vives
i would be able to use this, if you would be so nice as to include a readme with installation-instructions! you have no installer, no instructions and the "nb-copy.bat" only includes YOUR blender path...
very friendly for someone who has exactly zero experience with blender and doesnt know where the files have to be copied to!

Any plans of attempting NeverBlender2 for NWN2?

This is awesome! I hope you continue to work on this, as it will truly become the best thing since anything, ever!

I'm trying to make this work.... I managed to get the python system working for blender, got the files, made enviromnent variables for PYTHOPATH, put your files in the python lib-site package folder and in blender scripts. I can acces the scripts in the menu, from text and all but then it loads the model but i only get an empty with the objet's name. Clearly something is missing I read your manual over 10 times in a row and still no success. What did i miss?
Trying to figure out how to configure this, I got blender 2.28c, and went to your home page, (found this hours later) Cannot find yann's import script at all, in any of the release packages. ?
Thanks, I'd like to use this for Land of Etarnon (as I can'rt get 3dsmax, nor gmax to work on win98SE.
Etarnon
Loremaster, Land of Etarnon (roleplay) (beta)
This is a compilation of the old system into a single score. There were 1 that made this score of 10 then rounded to 10.

Python comes with nearly all distibutions of GNU/Linux.
Python will run on Mac, Linux/Unix/POSIX, Win32, and Java platforms. Blender will not build the python module for Linux if python 2.1 is not present on the system. (if you build blender from source on linux, which is the best (fastest) way to go :-)

Yeah, the small screenshot says "Python script error" because I got used to seeing that while getting this to run - thus, it's an accurate screenshot of this script =)
Yes, this needs Python, but Windows Blender comes with a Python module of its own, out of box, and doesn't need any separate downloads. On Linux or Irix it needs to be got separately (though I'm not sure - just try if it runs! =) No idea about MacOSX.

And thanks for the heads-up on another modelling program.

I think Blender uses python for its scripting engine.

I can't read the type in the small window; does it say 'ERROR: Python script error...'? Does this require Python?
