Originally, we were planning on releasing this with some prestige classes - but as they are going thourough testing, we have decided to get the beta out for people to start using.
I have a contention with part of this. You state that it is not possible to add +1 to spell caster level yet the consortium did just that..... I appreciate your putting this together but I believe I will be taking my tips form multiple sources

A little out of date but still extremelly useful!

The download thing isn't working. When I click on it it takes me to a page with a square with a red box, blue triangle, and a green circle.
This is a great download. With this, the tlk editor and the NWNexplorer it wasn't impossible for a non-computer programmer to make a custome prestige class. My only wish is an update would go into how to make custom feats and some examples.
This is a compilation of the old system into a single score. There were 4 that made this score of 9.50 then rounded to 10.

Hi,
I lack the tech savvy to do this myself, but I would sure LOVE to see somebody create a version of the arcane trickster (a rogue/mage prestige class) from the tome and blood supplement. It would all translate fairly easily (no new skills or feats needed). For ranged ledgerdamain (sp?) you could simply allow the character to cast find traps X times per day. As a class requirement, substitute ranks of lore instead of decipher script? Thanks in advance to anybody who undertakes or supports this idea.

thank you for taking your time to help everyone understand making Prestige Classes. With such a detailed PDF document it seems to go into detail on all the .2da files needed and explanations of each but at the end of the PDF, it states that the dialog.tlk needs to be edited...and that's it!!!
I mean I'm not the smartest nor even close to the most experienced custom content creator, but I've never touched the dialog.tlk....so without and more info on HOW-TO EDIT the dialog.tlk......I cant even think about going further with making my own Prestige classes!
I did open the dialog.tlk for the first time in an editor and can see the thousands of lines. But what, where, etc. do I add the needed info to make my custom class work with NWN?
Any help would be appreciated...and Papermonk you might want to add a simple guide line as to what to do to the dialog.tlk. Though maybe it's so simple that everyone knows and it's me that is ignorant to this. I apoligize it this is the case.
But either way thank you Papermonk for taking your time to help all of us with this guide.

in fact, the number associated to your PrC must be at least 80 ... under this number, Bio locked it and it can't be selectable.
thanks Papermonk for his docs ... ^^

I was just wondering if anyone out there could make and post the Purple Dragon Knight PRC. I would try it myself but I am affraid my brain would explode. I have little to no knowledge with this stuff.

I've exactly the same problem... Even if I meet all requirements and alignement restrictions, the class remains unselectable...
I've tried to remove requirements (****) and set alignment restriction to 0x00 0x00 no inversion... I get the same...
I've tried to duplicate a working prestige class, just changing the name... The original is selectable, the copy remains grey...
Well, I'm still investigatin on that...
Previously, everything was working just by putting the needed files in the override dir... maybe the use of a hakpack is now needed...

Wait wait wait. You can't make spellcasting classes??? What?

Btw PaperMonk , you really should add that you can restrict PrC's by Class's.

Additional Reqs for PrCs -
Anything you can script can be a requirement using the VAR requirement type in the cls_pres_* file. A line like:
0 ScriptVar VAR prc_AllowMeteorMan 0
will require the local integer "prc_AllowMeteorMan" to be set to zero on the player when they level up. Since all integers are 0 if undefined, nothing HAS to be scripted. However you can set that local integer to 1, and the class will be unselectable until it is set back. Hense the ability to script any type of requirement you want. If you set it to a non-zero number, it will be disabled by default, making the mod writer have to script a hook to the class.
If the player already has a PrC when they join a module, it will not take away these levels, but it will prevent them from taking more levels until they fulfill the VAR requirement.
I've written up an include file that will be released with our PrCs that has some handy functions like GetPrCAvailable() and SetPrCAvailable() to really make this easy on a mod maker. Might go ahead and post it up here before the prc release if people want it.

HAHAHAHAHA!
I agree with Adam, on both thoughts.

Quick picky comment. I noticed there's a typo of "marital protection". I'm envisioning things like a beer-stained shirt to keep the women away.
Overall though, this is truly great work. I really appreciate you taking your time away from CODI and sharing this wonderful information.

I've skimmed through your file this morning and plan on printing it out to worship later. Really, THANK YOU for this guide! While the previously submitted list of PRC files to edit was handy, this is FAR more valuable for the doofs like myself. And even for the not-so-doofy. ;) I'll let you know if I run across any problems with your thorough directions. Hugs and kisses! :muah muah!:
