I have a problem. I dowloaded the app and have been working my way through the tutorials. I'm on the 7th tutorial which tells me to download somethin called QuestPak. Whenever I click on the QuestPak link on the Scriptease website my browser crashes. Twice the browser managed to get to the next page (which I assume was meant to be a download page) and displayed what looked like a whole bunch of NWN script.
Does anyone know of a mirror site where I can donload the file I need to complete the tutorials?
Thanks in advance,
Vajradhatu.

10 out of 10. It is the most powerful scripting tool available for NWN.

you may want to change the name to "scriptease: the NWN script Generator" or something, because no one is going to do a search for "Screapease", it is a catchy name but you have to think about how people are going to find it.

Did the latest official patch break ScriptEase? All I see are numbers where my Items/Containers/etc used to be.
Thanks

I LOVE THIS TOOL! I do have a question though. I admit I've not played with the tool as much as I am planning during the writing of my current mod, but I am wondering if there is a way to give/take from the party instead of just one individual.
For instance, I've got a conversation which spawns an attack. When the attack is over, the PC's can talk to the NPC again and the NPC will give the PC's an experience point reward (assuming he is still alive and can speak with them). I'm giving the XP to the the "PC Speaker" but this only gives the XP to the one PC not to the party so everyone in the party has to talk to the NPC to get the XP. Is there a way to give the XP to the party instead of the PC so it can be devided just like XP from killing the monster?
Again, I LOVE THIS TOOL. You guys are awesome!

Very nice tool, it's helping me a lot :)
I have only one complaint: the lack of documentation. Would be nice to have a more detailed info, or more tutorials (like for the atom builder itself). Speak of atoms, where can I get more? ;) Would be nice to have atoms for cutscenes, for example (if I am saying something wrong, sorry about my ignorance! :) Also I couldn't find a way to implement the DelayCommand, is it on the default atoms?
Thanks, and congratulations on a brilliant tool

oh and i use lilac's generator too. which is also great. both are useful, even if you are a talented scripter. they just save time.
who's got time to write the same damn scripts over and over?

i know plenty well how to script. regardless, this thing is very handy. i was making useful, custom atoms and encounters about 3 hours into fiddling with it.
this thing addresses my biggest complaint about building in NWN: redundant scritpting tasks. this is not the fault of the toolset, it's just part of building a mod.
it's a brilliant organizational tool. i could make "atoms" in the Aurora templates folder, but obviously a completely customized folder / tree structure is better than a column.
and i personally couldnt' care less about it being in java. and yes, it's got a much steeper learning curve than lilac's generator; but it's also far more powerful.
This is a compilation of the old system into a single score. There were 7 that made this score of 8.29 then rounded to 8.

McKillynu: ScriptEase should work with persistent worlds, however the default set of script components don't include functions like SetPLocalInt. It is possible for you to add them yourself (see the Atom Designer under Tools), if you are willing to dig a bit and know how to program - user customization is designed in but not documented well yet.
As for mixing ScriptEase scripts with scripts from other sources - absolutely!

In reply to: "Nice idea but very poor execution. Writing something with java, sheesh."
What are you talking about? It's fair enough if you don't like the way the program executes, etc., but since when is it a "no-go" to write programs in Java?

Nice idea but very poor execution. Writing something with java, sheesh.

VERY NICE! It looks really good on first inspection. My only criticism of the tutorial is that it neither outlines the application's concepts or defines its terms(ie, what EXACTLY are atoms and rooms). Lots of vague descriptions with "it should do this" and "usually does that" with some "I'll describe this later on", makes the tutorial more effort in brain power than it should.
My questions are: Does this app work for persistant worlds with varied partying(ie; using commands like SetPLocalInt)? Can you use it in conjunction with quests or parts of quests scripted in the traditional - rack your brains out style - NWScript method?
Once again, congradulations on an excellent body of work.

.
I'm at work, so I can't install or use ScriptEase, but I *can* read the manual. :D
I haven't finished reading, but I'm already impressed and looking forward to trying this out.

This looks like an incredible amount of work. Jolly good show as the Brits say on American tv depictions of them!

I´m absolutly amazed! Thank you very much for helping creative minds like me to work on games without sacrificing hours on something that most of the time will not work in the end. Thanks a lot!
