I cant figure out how to move the models on the tiles, i can scale it and such with placeables (items) but cant do it with tiles, they just stay there.
This is a compilation of the old system into a single score. There were 11 that made this score of 7.00 then rounded to 7.

I cannot open the Demo module because it requires dsiege.hak, a different Hak from the one that comes with the download; SiegeSOU.hak. I have tried to change the name of SiegeSOU to dsiege, but it does not work. As well, I cannot get the hak pak (SiegeSOU) to work with any of my modules...
I have HoTU installed.
Thanks,
Nather.

Nice, must fool around with Goblin Inventors, hehe would be
nice if I could export some of the monsters...

So you going to make a NWN to DS converter also

Very impressive!
Is anyone creating a .snw file with all placeables?
Posted by Johannes ( ..xxx.xxx ) at 2002-11-21 11:27:00
To tell you the truth, I'me running through my last set of
midterms this week, so I haven't had too much time to look
at it. So no, I have not yet figured out what goes wrong.
On a side note: Looking at the ratings for this prog, I see
that (so far) 4 people gave it a 10, and one person ranked
it as 1. Assuming that one person had a reason for rating
so low other than that they were having a bad day, could
you please let me know what gripes you had? I'de really
like to make this the best program I can, and constructive*
negative feedback is actually the best way for me to find
out what people want changed.
* "This program sucks" is NOT constructive feedback ;)

Sweet.... can't wait to get my copy of DS back from my
friend :)
Another question:
Have you or anyone else figured out why that one tile makes
you do the funky chicken (for lack of a better term) when
you walk over it? You know which one i'm talking about;
you pointed it out in your demo module.

Using an actual game copy will give you many more nodes and
items to play around with. You might also notice that many
of the placeables are missing textures when using the demo
version of Dungeon Siege. Although not all items are
functional in the full game version, many more are.
So in short, yes, you do have more options with the actual
game installed.

Ok, back on topic....
I have to commend you on an excellent job. I liked the
graphics in dungeon siege.
I only used the demo dungeon siege. Do i get access to
different tiles if i use my copy of dungeon siege?

Neat program. Not to go against all the fanboys here and
start a flame war which has already Been going for awhile.
Dungoneseige is an ok game its just diffent from NWN. Both
have good points and bad points. To compare both would be
like comparing apples and beer. They are just diffent and
people like them for differnt reasons. If you didnt like
it, its your own fault for spending the money to get it
without testing it out frist. thats no reason to just
belittle the game whenever you get the chance.
and thats all im gonna say about that

This is wonderful, I'll finally get some use from DS. A $50
American investment(in DungeonSiege) has gotten me $10
American worth of ClipArt Discs.

GPG and Chris Taylor should be happy that something from
that piece of CRAP game are being used for something!

Ok, let's clear a few things up in this thread, shall we?
Is distributing Gas Powered Game's intellectual property
over the internet without their permission a crime? No.
Is distributing Gas Powered Game's intellectual property
over the internet without their permission a violation of
the licensing agreement you signed"when you installed
Dungeon Siege? Yes. Is that grounds for a possible
lawsuit? Yes.
Is creating an application that allows somebody who has
purchased Dungeon Siege to extract data from it's files
and convert it to a different format illegal. No.
Is that clear everybody?
The reality of the matter is that if somebody makes an
distributes a mod with models and textures from Dungeon
Siege the WORST thing they can expect is a cease and
desist letter, in that event, I suggest they do just that.
I also just plain can't see this happening unless said mod
became as popular as say counterstrike. In that case,
yes, you very well might see a lawsuit.

Oh please. The only thing that is illegal with stuff like
this is if y'all don't BITE off COPY WRITED material and
distribute for your own private use. It's like stealing
songs from a CD that a singer made and making it your own.
Paranoia is not becoming for gamers or builders unless they
know they are doing something wrong, like biting off copy
writed material.
Posted by Me ( ..xxx.xxx ) at 2002-11-14 10:40:00
This is still illegal...
Posted by Johannes ( ..xxx.xxx ) at 2002-11-14 08:13:00
If you think about it, nothing prevents you from
redistributing iso's of the DS cds either, except that it
is illegal. If someone distributes hak paks containing DS
graphics, they take the legal issues into their own hands.
(See the last line of the readme).
Posted by Temrek ( ..xxx.xxx ) at 2002-11-14 07:49:00
I know it is legal if you own the game, but nothing
prevents you from disturbing there grafhics in a format
readible by another game.
Posted by Johannes ( ..xxx.xxx ) at 2002-11-14 07:24:00
Temrek: I don't believe it is. SiegeNWN actually requires
you to have Dungeon Siege installed, and any files I ship
in the zip file contain almost no information on the
Dungeon Siege graphics themselves. If you really wanted to,
you could figure out the name of siege nodes and possibly
how many faces (triangles) it has. That's it. I did read
through the EULA of DS, and it states only that it is
illegal to _distribute_ material taken from Dungeon Siege.
Anyways, they should probably be paying me for boosting
sales of their game, no? ;)
Shikagizu: Glad you like it! If you can remember what you
were doing when it crashed, please let me know. Perhaps on
the forum rather than here.
Posted by Temrek ( ..xxx.xxx ) at 2002-11-14 07:12:00
Sorry to disapoint you but, I belive this is illegal.
Posted by Shikagizu ( ..xxx.xxx ) at 2002-11-14 01:46:00
Holy crap is this FANTASTIC! It was also a huge amount of
work on your part, and very nicely implemented! I'm
impressed by how polished it is! (export directly to hak
pak is that little extra mile)
It does suffer from some stability issues, I actually had
it down XP (relativly rare).
There are still things that need to be done manually to
make placeable work right on NWN (editing models for
cutaway when a character is behind one is an example), but
there is nothing you could do about this.
I look forward to seeing how this project progresses, and
would hope (crosses fingers) that you, or SOMEBODY might
make an ASP (dungeon siege model format) import plugin for
3ds, then we'de have all of the creatures as well!
