NWN Tool is an application enabling you to view the strings of a module, and to extract all these in a text file you can change using your favorite text editor to reimport the changes back in your module. Using the Export/Import engine, you can also easily localize your module in a different language! From the 2.0 version, you can also edit a saved character (.bic) and view/export the minimaps of a module. New in 2.0.1, you can export your character to a text file to share with other players the way you built it, and you can view the original Bioware campaign strings and minimaps. A MacOS X version is available too.
Clamav detects this executable as a Trojan Dropper-12685. Avast/AVG do not detect anything. There's no reason for this file to "accidentally" show up as a trojan, given the task it is supposed to perform.
After downloading this (very useful) tool I started having problems with my computer eventually leading to a format. I ended up getting Clamav and running it over an image of the old hard drive, and found it.
Whether this program started out with a virus or just picked one up along the way, I can't tell, but it would be good if someone could confirm this and either release a new executable along with source code, or if this could be flagged.

Great program and I love every minute of it; however, when I edit my saved game (My saved game, not my player.bic file!) I cannot edit my skills. When I edit my skills, they are edited, but when I save the file the skills revert back to what they were previously. Anyone know why? Leto can edit the skills just fine (Not the save game, but the player.bic). NWN Tool won't even properly edit my player.bic file.

Perfect tool for NWN but a better name could make it more popular. _________________________ The Best PW system is getting even better. PLATEMAIL Tech Preview

Very useful tool, when you don't want to review all that stuff within the NWN toolset

It's been a while since I've used this so I can't really comment in detail.

Nice utility but I'm interested most in the text export / import where it still has room for improvement.
The ideal would be to get _all_ text. Obviously ideals are difficult to achieve but I'm hoping for the best ;-)

I'm giving this an 8 for now, in the hopes that it will improve later.
I also really think it needs a better name - it doesn't lend itself to Vault searches for a start.

Yes I could do so. Since it should not take me too long, I think I'll do it in the next version.
Are you expecting to have that for a single conversation, or for all the conversations of a module in a single step?

First of all, a great application. I really like it.
I only have one request/question, though. Would it be possible to have a feature that would export conversations in the same way they are shown in the toolset. With this I mean exporting them to a text file, but mantaining the structure of the dialog. I use to try to know all the dialogs in a module prior to DMing them (so that I know what the players could be learning from scripted conversations) and a plain text format like the next one would be a great help:
NPC Whatever says: Blah, blah blah.
Player option 1: Blah blah blah.
NPC Whatever says: Blah blah, blah blah.
End of Conversation.
Player option 2: Blah.
NPC Whatever says: Blah blah!
End of Conversation.
Note that the purpose of this output would not be translating, but merely having a look beforehand at a conversation.
If there is already some tool that does this, could anyone point it to me? I have searched the site, but not found anything yet (except for this, let me say it again, great application).

Simply one of the best tools for NWN.
