NWN Tool is an application enabling you to view the strings of a module, and to extract all these in a text file you can change using your favorite text editor to reimport the changes back in your module. Using the Export/Import engine, you can also easily localize your module in a different language! From the 2.0 version, you can also edit a saved character (.bic) and view/export the minimaps of a module. New in 2.0.1, you can export your character to a text file to share with other players the way you built it, and you can view the original Bioware campaign strings and minimaps. A Windows version is available too.

So far, it seems to be working with 1,69 as well. Only uncheck the " always load feats on open ", ( Trash the [Library/NWN Tool preferences] if you have to ) select the module you wanna play, and only then, load manually the character feats, otherwise it's going to crash on you as it did on me before I tried that way around. _________________________ @ + jml, level 52

Let's make it simple: If you're on a Mac, You've got to download this.
Now I know why I was in love with a french Souricette in my 15th... some time ago. I work it through the .sav file, and only that one and it goes amazingly. I heard some warning about using it for the skills and didn't try it myself yet. But for anything else, modifying a PC in game? Just wonderful. And the application itself is soooOOOoo well done
Merci... Souricette!

Just want to say this is a great little app for us Mac users! Thank you!
A few notes:
1) When opening a file in list view, the details of the files you're opening (i.e., name, size, kind, created, modified) is in french(?), rather than english.
2) Just a suggestion: would there be a way to display a character's level when opening their .bic file? I know you can always take a glance at their experience points but at higher levels, it can be a real pain to try to figure out level from that.
3) I've noticed that if you try to mod a character's skill ranks, it seems to really mess their skills up. At least from the couple times I've played around with it. I've not done extensive testing with it- if I ever fiddle around some more, I'll take notes and let you know what I find.
Again, great app!

Oh...
In that case it means that threads are not handled as I expected them to work on Linux. Loading the game resources is supposed to be done in a separate thread in the background - and the only reason why there is that delay is that the thread is not "threaded", I think...
The bad news is that I will not spend time on trying to figure out what's happening (I can't even test!). You may want to use it "as-is", but it will not be a good experience and you will be frustrated, so I would not recommend it.
Sorry for Linux users... You have the sources published, so if one day another developer with REALbasic and the way (and the will) to test on a Linux machine comes, maybe something will be done. But today... No Linux version.
As far as I know, everything in the nwn directory should be lowercase, except maybe hak names when it's not in the module.
I changed .hotu to hotu. That worked better, but it took something like 20minutes between the moment I clicked on "Save" and themoment the next window appeared.

Almost...
The way I check if a folder is a valid NWN folder is by checking if there is a "modules" folder and a "dialog.tlk" file in that folder. Since Linux has case sensitive file names, could you please confirm me that these names are spelled like that?
Could you also try to rename your folder "hotu" instead of ".hotu" - it should not do a difference, but who knows...
Well, the program itself seems to run.
I just can't seem to be able to enter the right path at the begining (/home/mick/.hotu) as it says me it's not nwn directory and some options will not be avaible.
The buttons are not high enough, the text doesn't appear in a whole.
If it works for mac and windows, I think it would be easy to make it work under linux too ;) (mac has more in common with linux than with windows)
It would be nice if you could just think about it. But of course I can only suggest...
