I think the point he is trying to make (which is a good one) is that DLA started with a mandate to make a DLA expansion pack for NWN. Despite whatever reasons or excuses (premium mods or bioware hiring) they have failed to do so. Now they are unwilling to do so. So if they are no longer making a DLA expansion, they should change their name.
As far as I can see, the only teams of significance to fulfill their mandate are CEP and PRC. All others have failed so far. That is not to say that some may still reach their goal but DLA by their own admission will not.
The amount released by DLA to date is in no way equitable with the resources they drained from the community.
Perhaps you missed something... They still do work on the DL mod. Even if their work is not directly linked to DL it still provides material for their main project. If it isn't models, then tweaks in the engine, or scripts.
Since the project started they already have released quite a few things. And some things just take time to get released as Steel explains in the interview.
Also if you heard the complete interview you would have heard that NOT ALL people working for DLA are from the NWN community.
All the people working for DLA have every right to do what they want with their time. If they wish to work for the DLA projects then that is their choice. If they decide to make something for the community and release it for free, you should be thankful that they do.
Heck some of them are even working at Bioware or Obsedian working on new material (not only for NWN but also its followers). For those people that is a dream comming true, and who are you to stop them from persueing their dreams and ideals?

What did we learn from that?
Dragonlance Adventures should remove the name dragonlance from their group name.
So when you talk about killing the community steelwind, are you glad you did?
