Gal'ruk was a request for half-orc barbarian. arrogant, but generally good-natured. the important thing, though, was for him to look like the epitomy of a 'tank'. SOURCES: the base photo is some bodybuilder named 'the black knight' i found while looking for an actual black knight. i reproportioned him and messed with the face to look orcish. bracers made from machinery and armor pieces. also added various leather straps/clothing, some recycled from 'Saul' and further tweaked. Backround from the movie 'Musa', modified with extra doo-dads. Enjoy. comments and critiques welcomed.
Ugly in a good way. His face, however, is a bit off color from his body. It is almost as if he wears just a helmet while the rest of his body gets tanned. Another thing: with all the fog and dust in the background, it seems odd he has none infront of him. Adding a bit of that detail would really bring it to life more.
Hm, atleast it looks like dust/dirt in the background.

Very well done. I like the way he's built, the weapon, the (smirk?), and the background. You should be proud!

Very nice indeed - I like the way you added the machine parts to make the armor _________________________ Earthdawn is the pen&paper RPG of choice. Still looking for someone making an Earthdawn-game with Neverwinter Nights! Please get in contact if you have any details on the matter. Thanx!

Not only the best portrait on the vault, but one of the best examples of fantasy art I've ever seen.

I will probably never play an orc or a barbarian, but if I did, this would be the one I'd want to play.
Excellent work.

This is a compilation of the old system into a single score. There were 37 that made this score of 8.22 then rounded to 8.

I was just browsing through Relsh's stuff, and this half orc is so good, it's ridiculous. 10! 10! 10!

Wow, I like the head proportion as well. You should be getting paid for work like this. The only thing I could say is he looks confident, not arrogant. All I need now is for you to do some portraits with horns (to go with the human male and female heads that have horns and "elvish" ears), would of been nice if Bioware had one basic portrait for each head model, oh well. Anywho, keep up the awesome work, it's really good stuff.

Red needs a swift kick in the nuts. The proportion is awsome for the effect the look is going for. It imposes the feeling that character is a TANK and the neck and jaw still flow seemlessly in. It's over dramatized, but that's the fun of fantasy art.
Awsome work Relsh, I've been admiring your other works too! Well done!

the head was purposely "shrunk" to achieve a proportion i thought felt more "wide" (and i guess orc-like). i'm sorry ya got to redo the head yourself, but i think i like the proportions the way they are.

One of the best Male Half-Orcs in this site but has one serious flaw: the head is too small for the body - there's room for two extra heads on each shoulder!
I'll try to resize the head with Photoshop but it would be nice if could fix it yourself - just a suggestion, mind you. :)

This is the best half-orc portrait I have seen yet!

thanks for the comments, appreciated as always. to apricane: it is closer to the human side than orc, by request, though i did try to make an orcish nose.
To Giza: thanks, i took a look at your website, and the work looks awesome and diverse. I spent a semester in rome during college, but my italian is weak. i couldn't navigate the site too well, so i couldn't find your particular work. any chance you could give me a link to it?
