Yet another portrait that I did NOT like. But, I'm submitting anyway =P. I had saw the model photo complete with exotic rapier and such and decided to give it a shot. Here it is. I had an image in my mind of a woman that blinds you with the shining of her armor and weapon whilst fighting.
Oh boy... Do you dislike ALL your works? I think this one has a lot of potentials, but the streaks of shadows that cover up her eyes really killed the portrait, imo. Everything else looks fantastic, however (the rapier, the shiny stuff on her face, the make-up, the armor, etc.)
Try erasing the shadows and making the character look at the viewer straight in the eye, or make her blind with no pupil to give her a unique touch. Anything other than smothering both eyes with shadow would be good (at least lift the shadow on her left eye). Also, make her hair show up on the upper left portion of her head. Keep working on it. Don't give up yet~~!!!
P.S. This one has a lot of "real but not really realistic" feeling that I mentioned in my post on your Emerald portrait. :D
