Too weird for my taste.

I appreciate that you're trying to do something creative here, but I don't think this piece is successful. The elements and textures lack cohesion; the overall effect is too disjointed to leave much impression even as an abstract/surreal representation. Given the incredible quality of your other portraits, this is disappointing work.

I don't get it...

Can't quite get the gist of this one. It must be a little too abstract or high-brow for me, at least for a NWN portrait.

A *very* long neck. Although unusual artistically and allowing one to read all sorts of meaning into it, I'm not really a fan of it for NWN. Also a bit blurry, but perhaps that was intentional.

I'd have to agree, that'd make an awesome picture for a god, or a chaotic celestial, but probably wouldn't see a lot of character use. Not as a portrait, but just as a picture, I like it. Very bizarre.

Wouldn't use this for a character I played, but it's a great piece of art - I'd gladly throw it in as an NPC for a module with a classical theme.

surreal

This is a compilation of the old system into a single score. There were 14 that made this score of 6.72 then rounded to 7.

It looks like Jesus Christ got +blocked+ slapped by Micheangelo's David.

looks like a cool golem!

I agree that I might not use this for a PC portrait, however, it is something that could be used for a deity or otherwordly creature. The surreal, 'morphing' aspect reminds me of a deity of chaos, change, or insanity perhaps...

Whie I wouldn't use this for NWN, I do like your work. Interesting composition...

That's one ugly portrait.

thanks for all the comments, pos and neg.
i knew that this type of portrait was different, but hoped more would like this type of portrait. thanks to who ever brought the rating from "1/2" to 2.5....- .5 is just embarrassing. but the reality is these are the type of portraits i like the most-somewhat abstract and very loose.
Even though most of you don't like this portrait, its one of my favorites. so for better or worse you may get more of them

While I couldn't use them in a module because they are so starkly different than the typical portrait, I really love your style. It would be really cool to see a module done entirely with this style of portrait.

Now that's just a fun portrait. :-) Like it!

Now *that* is my kind of portrait! It combines multiple styles, and brings them together masterfully.
Keep up the great work!

i can respect that, to each his/her own. it is fun to get a reaction though.

That's the style, hm?
Not my cup of tea. So, no comments beyond that.

You know, it's weird, and I wouldn't use it for a PC portrait usually, but I always thought god portriats and images were too "human". It's nice to have a interesting portrait for gods or some celestial beings.

It's bizarre, an odd style and I would never use it as a portrait. But you know what? I like it. Good job!!
Posted by relsh ( ..xxx.xxx ) at 2003-06-10 12:49:00
nope. thats the style.

What the...?
Is the picture screwed up or something?
