Shadular is a fighter/mage I will be playing in an ADND adventure set in Ravenloft. The DM wanted a picture, so here it is. He can be used as any elf, maybe even half-drow. Photo-collage: quite a quicky, but a lot of fun to do. Base image: Brad Pitt, added several armour pieces, and jewels. Update: I've added a hair-less version to the zip-file, so both are available.

Well all of Phaere's work is fantastic. She's truly an artist when it comes to making portraits. And I like that she doesn't always follow what the "mainstream" wants or expects ;)
However, my ex-husband looks like Brad Pitt and with the few changes she made to the picture, even more so..rofl. Would be hard for me to use it I think, but I can't deny the talent behind her portraits that's for sure :D _________________________ Romance Modules List | Male Human Portrait | Anera Modified Portrait | Artwork | Voice Samples

I don't see what the big deal is! So what if he has facial hair? It's pedantic individuals like yourselves that inhibit any form of originality. I figure the reason why you're so inclined to criticize is because you are afraid that you might fall off your ivory tower. That somehow your knowledge of the DnD rules makes you important somehow. It is a game, and it is also FANTASY. Since when did fantasy require rules? The fantasy genre was invented to escape that! I, personally, encourage things that break the mold.

He doesn't even look like Brad Pitt to me! Which is a major plus.

I couldn't possible roleplay Brad Pitt!

Half-elf would probably be more appropriate. But I still feel that rules don't have to be so strict.

I've been playing D&D for 15 years, and I can tell you now that there is no set way a D&D elf HAS to look. I've seen a huge variaty, and I like it that way.
You are right about the facial and body hair (with the exception of drow, who can grow mustaches.) But they're ears can look any way you like.
This is definetly either a half-elf, or an elf with strong human ancestory (such as the product of an elf and half-elf breeding.) Nice work.

Well, I can say this much. This isnt a D&D elf, but it could pass for a half elf. D&D's elves have larger ears, and no facial or body hair. thats one of the things that makes them elven (i dont know how many times I have written this *sigh*)

ah well.. the quality is good.. mhmh.. but it looks bit too realistic i think.. hehe. ok. it's a photo but mhmhm.
well.. lets say its more realistic than the normal nwn pictures and maybe wont fit in such good..
but better realistic pictures than cartoons of course..
i just think the picture maybe not fit in with the nwn graphic such good but did not try it out yet. but i will do and maybe use this picture too for an npc. ;)

Yeah, Ebon, that head pissed me off, too, after I went to much care to make my portraits follow the "rules." :)

i agree, there can be acceptions, but when nwn says in the little elven bio when you choose a race that they do not have facial hair or body hair, and then the second to last head in HotU has facial hair, it pisses you off, just a little.
