Well, since I know so many people love to play those drow things, I thought I'd start off my first portrait with a drow. It's actually a work of Stephen Daniele at http://www.stephendaniele.com , but I thought it would be a nice addition to the other art rendered portraits. It's been said that this has been posted before on the Vault, but hey, people like it, so why not have it alone instead of searching through a p.pack for it. Good art is good art. Anyway, enjoy and let me know what you think.

Thank goodness we have people like atsjewell, who selflessly right the wrongs of the world by...slagging people off...hmmm. I support darkdragoon1 and his/her contribution and wholeheartedly disagree with atsjewell; I cannot for the life of me see what is so 'insulting' about this picture. So, it's not original art...but the same can be said for an awful lot of the portraits on here. This isn't 'stealing,' rather it is someone who has found a great piece of artwork that is suitable for using as a nwn portrait and had taken the time to share it with other people who may also like it. This isn't an art 'competition' - when I rate a portrait I do not judge it only be it's originality or artistic merit, I rate it on whether or not it would make a good *portrait*, which this does. Not everyone is a professional artist, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't enjoy the work of people who are, and while we should encourage those who can produce original art to do so, I cannot see how victimising people like darkdragoon1 is beneficial at all.
I thank you, darkdragoon1 for your contribution and hope you are not discouraged from sharing more great portraits with us in the future :)- I tried to change, but I changed my mind -
Ha ha, well, I wasn't expecting 'that' sort of comment. But honestly, I spent about an hour going over all the drow portraits and packs I could find and I never saw this one. Maybe I missed it, but I looked long and hard, thus I apologize if it was simply an oversight. And trust me, going over portrait after portrait in those large packs can screw with yer head, heh.
I wasn't out to get good ratings or even claim that this picture was mine, it was just a good picture, which I thought I read somewhere that it was okay to post, so I posted it. I meant to put the website up where the original could be found as I enjoy his art, but, like I said, looking through so many portraits can screw with your head (try it sometime). Anyway, if you feel so strongly that it should be 'banish' from your sight, then go to the admins and have it removed. It's just a picture for cryin out loud. Hell, I don't even get that steamed about people taking my own art. Go figure."Always remember to pillage BEFORE you burn!"
I wish the Vault had "slashdot" style rating system. This portrait would get:
-1 Stolen
-1 Redundant
You make it sound like you've looked at all the portraits on the vault and decided there wasn't enough 'hand painted drow'. Either you're blind or you didn't look very hard. This portrait has been posted to the vault in one form or another several times. It's in just about all the bigger compiled portrait packs. If you're gonna steal something, at least steal something nobody has seen before.
It's almost as prevalent as that painting of Drizzt, by Gerald Brom (www.bromart.com), standing with his arms folded. Anyone who views the portraits section regularly and/or has downloaded any of the compilations knows which one I'm talking about.
I think it's an insult, quite frankly, not just to the original artist of this portrait, but to all the other artists on the vault who take the time and effort to construct "original" art. Why should they have to compete for ratings with the likes of people who just grab something off the web somewhere or scan it in from a book and chop it to fit? The Vault really needs to implement some sort of mechanism for reporting stolen content including where the original can be found. Then perpetrators should be removed from the ratings and their page either removed or have a big red flashing "STOLEN" across the top.
Sorry for the rant, but this is the proverbial straw I guess.

VERY nice. I'm going to use this in my module. I hope to see many more portraits from you. ^_^
