I wanted to make a female paladin who looked determined and righteous but couldn't find a suitable sourcepic so I took the photo myself :p Tess, the model here, wanted me to make an elf out of her but I had planned on making a human so... I made two versions of the same portrait :) Merged 6 photos and a serious amount of paint. --------- To make her look more elvish and not just a human with elf-ears I tilted her eye a little and narrowed her jaws to make her face look 'pointier' and narrower, which is my idea of how elves would look :)

At least an elven Paladin who looks like she could really wear heavy armour for battle! ^^
Great work! :) _________________________ DIE HAPPY Link

I was doing a Google image search for some decent Neverwinter portraits. The picture that shows in Google is the original picture/photograph, of your friend.
Great work. btw, did you actually 'paint' as in physically paint the clothes and face alterations, or did you use a PSP, Photoshop program?
It looks a lot like the Icewind Dale original pictures, same quality and feel, only perhaps a little lighter. I like it a lot. :)

The mouth and nose don't look right and the armour seems fake-ish. It'd look great if corrected.

Good work. Wonderful to play a female elf pally without resorting to Aribeth's pic.

Nice image...but like many photo collages, it just doesn't feel right. I think the problem here is the armor. It's facing directly at the camera, while model's body seems like it was probably facing to the left of the camera.

So, only idiots think Jesus was black?
(I'm just saying, I don't really care what color Jesus was.. It was Jesus. Come on.)

Thank you Monoceros.
I agree with your point about the armour, but you see, this particular portrait was a request from Tess (the model) I only intended to upload the original which was the human version. But as I had made this anyways I thought I might as well upload it :) Even though chainmail is more common on elves I'm sure there must be more than Tess that like to play more untraditional elves every now and then. Some time ago I had a request from a guy for a orcling too, lol, half orc/half halfling, -and why not :D
Thanks for the comment :)"Light travels faster than sound, that's why some people appear bright until you hear them speak"

Well, maybe this portrait is not perfect, but the fact is, that it is a good piece of work and it shows one of the best approaches to the different anatomy of elves on the vault, while many other portraits show half-elves at best or simply humans with pointed ears. I would use an other type of armor, most elves prefer their famous chainmails in battle, even the armathors of the great elven houses, a tribute to their different fighting styles (elves are mostly kinds of bladedancers and archers), otherwise it's really a fine pic.

lol. Ach, honestly, I tear a chunk of my hair out everytime I visit the Vault, I'll be bald soon :p I'm not talking about my portraits here but the Vault in general. Descent constructive critisism is one thing ... but... HONESTLY. Sometimes I don't know weather to have a laughing fit or bang my head on the keyboard. I'm not all that impressed by humankind.

No thank *you* Ariella.
I said I wondered why I even bothered, well, I do because some users here are very nice and actually appreciate the work and effort all the creators on the Vault do in their spare time. Before coming here I had just taken a round on the Vault through some modules haks and models and was pretty annoyed by all the rude and often hurtful remarks I had seen by people who seemed they had nothing better to do than dissing others work. I guess I had had enough.
Thanks again. People like you make it worth while :)"Light travels faster than sound, that's why some people appear bright until you hear them speak"
I'll admit it was the human version of this that caught my eye originally, but I peeked here and saw the posts so I had to say something.
These potraits are lovely. The human variation puts me in mind of a Paladin of Lathander in FR, though I'm not sure who the elf would belong too, maybe Corellin
I like the angle, and comparing the photo to the finished potrait, you captured her look perfectly. The resolution on her face is powerful. The definition is rather good.
All and all a wonderful potrait, and I'm going to be downloading bother varations :)
